SYNOPSIS "You don't worth my love. If you want to die, please do me a favor by dying after I leave here," My husband's ruthless words froze me from the bottom of my heart to my toes. I begged him not to leave for the sake of my unborn baby, he shouldn't let me die but the woman in his arms spat on my face. That was my sister. My fake sister. She had been my substitute for 20 years after I was abducted at 5. I went through so much hardship to find my parents, but I was despised by them. I watched my fake sister enjoying everything that should have belonged to me, wealth and honor, my parents' indulgent love, and even my husband. "Do everyone a favor and disappear quietly." As she elegantly threw out these words, the door of the ice cellar suddenly fell, and I could no longer see a ray of light. Tortured and bruised, I could only let the cold air pierce my bones and wait for death to swallow me up... I opened my eyes and realized that I was lying on a hospital bed. Was I saved? I was reborn! I got another chance, and I would never let the tragedy of my last life happen again, never!

The Reborn Heiress Chapter 1 –Didina–

/–Didina–/

"Doc, she's bleeding," I heard voices, and I cried as I felt anguishing pains in between my thighs, gazing at the people who made me land in this situation.

"Stop the bleeding first," The nurses started rushing in and out of the room. I gazed at my husband and I could see a satisfying look on his face.

"We need an urgent blood transfusion to her, a..." The doctor said, facing Nolan, my husband.

"So," A voice interrupted him.

"Doc, the only available blood for her blood type in the blood bank was just taken by Claire. An emergency patient needs it too, and she got there before me," The nurse said, and the doctor kept staring at Nolan.

"So what should we do? Is terminating an ordinary pregnancy a problem for you? I thought this hospital was the best in town," I heard my sister Hera's sharp voice.

"Pl-Ple-Please, I don't want to die," I begged, as tears rolled down my cheek. "Nolan, please," I mumbled out.

"Can any of you donate blo....." Hera did not allow him to complete his statement before firing at him immediately.

"We can't donate any blood to her. Even if my blood type matches her, I can't donate my precious blood to her, it's a no,"

I whimpered. I know my sister hated me so much but I never expected her to detest me to this extent.

She derives pleasure in watching me suffer, wailing with a creepy smile tugging at the corner of her heart-thin lips.

"You heard my wife; we can't donate any blood to her, so don't even bother to cool your words."

"She's going to die!" The doc said, emphasizing the word 'die'

"Should I allow my wife to risk her health because of her? She's carrying my child so I can't afford to endanger her life for someone that doesn't worth it." I heard those words dripping from Nolan's mouth, and those words felt like a knife piercing my heart.

Did he just say I'm worthless? Not worthy? Am I now forced responsibility to him?, A parasite leeching off him.

"Nolan, please," I begged, crying harder and my tears did not even seem to move their heart a bit, not even for a second.

"Take care of her, and if she dies, discard her body in the mortuary," Nolan said, and I watched him leave the room holding my sister, Hera protectively as I could see love in his eyes. The love I haven't seen in two years, the love he hasn't shown me in two years of our marriage, he's showering it on my sister.

I never expected Nolan to be this ruthless, and inconsiderate. I forgave him when I found out that he was having an affair with a woman, and it wasn't a stranger but my sister, Hera. That hurt more than anything in this world; I complained to his family, and what did I get in return? Insult and embarrassment. Still, I forgave him,m and is this what I get paid back with?

My sister has always been, everyone's favorite, and I was just her shadow.

If she commits any offense, I am always the one taking the blame while my sister gets praise. She was the real Barbie of the family, and I was the fake Barbie of the family, her replacement. In public, she acts like a sweet angel, but in private, she treats me with disdain and warns me not to touch or interfere with anything that involves her.

She was the apple of my parent's eyes and I was like a forced responsibility to my parents. Yet, I still love my sister.

I could still remember how love was fresh between Nolan and me. He was so lovely but immediately after marriage, he changed towards me.

He hardly sleeps at home, and he never consummated our marriage until three months ago, which happened by mistake, and still, I did not complain about it. It was my right, but I chose not to complain. I don't want to be a nagging wife to him, someone who complains about every little thing.

I should have noticed that he was having an affair with someone since he barely sleeps at home, and whenever he comes home, it's always late. His distance from me grew worse, and he stopped sleeping in our matrimonial room; he slept in the guest room. I barely see his sincere smile; whenever I see his wholehearted smile, it's either he's on a phone call with my sister or messaging my sister.

With all my calmness, and humility, I ended up getting humiliated and forced to abort my child.

Now I'm on the verge of my death, reminiscing over my past life, my foolish act.

I remember when I found out that I was pregnant; I was carrying Nolan's child. Three months ago, on a drunk night, he forced himself on me; that was the only time I could say we consummate our marriage. I didn't complain. He forced his way on me.

Why should I when I'm his wife? That's his right, and also my duty. After finding out that I was carrying his child, I informed him hoping it would surprise him and change things between us but instead, I ended up surprising myself

"Nolan, guess what!" I squealed, holding onto the medical report tightly as my face beamed with happiness.

"I'm sure you can see clearly. I'm busy so I'm not in for any surprise,"

I did not mind his harsh words and still maintained the smile on my face. "I'm pregnant, I'm carrying your child," I announced happily.

"I see; that's great news," He said, and my heart leaped in excitement. "Hera is carrying my child so what are you going to do, I can't father two kids from two different mothers,"

The excitement on my face dropped at his words. "Nolan!"

"You know what to do, and decisions have been made already,"

Nolan chose my sister's pregnancy over mine; that's why I'm on the operating table bleeding.

My husband doesn't want to father any child with him. He's done with me, he doesn't want me anyone. He wanted my fake sister and her pregnancy to avoid being a threat to her and his happiness, so he told me to terminate my pregnancy.

My eyes became blurred as I watched the nurses and doctors run around. Humility brought humiliation to my doorsteps and now I'm dying for the happiness of my sister.

I started hearing a distant voice and then blacked out.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.
