Last One Night-Stand With The Billionaire CEO Chapter 1 The Divorced Papers

Nova Bassey's POV»

Tears sipped from my eyes as I squeezed the papers in my hand. That bloody bastard! After everything I did for him for three years straight! He went right out to impregnate another woman and slammed divorce papers in my face.

My parents' words had been haunting me ever since I found out he was a cheat. "He doesn't love you and will leave you for a richer and prettier woman soon enough." Not only did my parents say that to me but the people around me as well.

Now that I had been rendered useless, mummified with debts from head to toe, he actually left me for a richer and prettier woman.

I looked at myself in the floor-length mirror that stood in the hotel room and watched the tears roll down my face before wiping them off.

I needed a distraction before dark thoughts would fill my mind, so I decided to drink until I dropped. No fun drinking alone in my room, that would only make me feel more pathetic than I already was.

A club was the perfect distraction, and who knew maybe the universe would bless me with a handsome man to take my worries away for the night.

Nothing I had was good enough for a club. Who needed clubbing outfits when you worked day and night without rest?

Luckily for me, there were a few times I'd have to attend special events, so I went through those clothes instead.

Nothing was as eye-catching as the dark red off-shoulder dress I owned. It effortlessly showed my curves and the top of my full breast peaked out from it.

I wanted to show some skin, and it was perfect as its length was only a little above my thigh.

The young blonde receptionist couldn't seem to hide how surprised she was to see me. Just that morning when I checked in, I was nothing but a mess.

"Wow, Miss Bassey, you look amazing." She complimented as she tried to hide her surprise. Though it failed.

When was the last time I received a compliment?

"I know," I smiled. "What's the closet club around here?"

"DareDevils. Hail a cab and they'll take you straight there."

I nodded with a brief smile before leaving the reception.

The air was refreshing. The road bustled with cars and bikes and the livelihood seemed promising. A cab stopped in front of me and the young-looking driver seemed dazed as his eyes landed on me.

I hopped in the backseat and did my seatbelt. "DareDevils." The words came out as plain as ever.

He nodded his head and began driving.

As much as I hated it, my ex-husband, Marvin, clouded my thoughts and made me feel bitter inside. I still loved him and hated myself for that.

The only thing that made me smile was how the driver occasionally peaked at me through the front mirror.

His driving skills were so smooth that I hardly realized it when the car came to a stop. I paid him and walked away. A cab driver wasn't the kind of fun I was looking for tonight.

Welcomed by the giant red double D's on the building wall, I inhaled before going in.

As I had expected, a lot of men were attracted to my beauty and even guys with women with them turned around to look at me. The night was just starting.

Knocking twice to get the bartender's attention, a young lady with piercings all over her face walked over to get my order as I sat down on the free stool. "Give me the hardest you've got."

Her hair was spiked up like an animé character and her lips were buried in a black color that matched her eyeshadow. Even with her goth makeup, she was pretty.

She was completely topless and wore red string panties with confidence as she served her customers.

Her black lips formed a twisted smile. Judging from the look on her pierced face, it would indeed be very hard. But I didn't mind, the point was to drop after all.

In front of me sat a small shot looking like a normal whiskey and I asked myself, what harm could this cute little thing do?

Turned out, it was a cute devil as it burnt down my throat and caused my face to scrunch ugly for more than a second. The feeling, though, was exhilarating! It made my entire body come alive in an instant though I was covered in goosebumps.

"It's that hard, huh?"

My head twisted to the side as I heard a deep voice beside me and my eyes took in the handsomeness of a bright young man with brown hair and taunting blue eyes. I could tell he was broad-shouldered and masculine from the way his shirt held on to him so firmly, and he was the kind of fun I was looking for. He shot me with the brightest smile and I felt my nipples harden.

His eyes looked me up and down, and I could have sworn he licked his lips.

"Pretty much, but not as hard as I am right now." I was taken aback by how forward I had been and a part of me silently begged he didn't think of me as an easy slut.

His smile froze as he gazed at me, giving me tingly feelings in my middle. "Would you like me to ease you up?" His brows twitched up as he asked.

I felt my lips curve into a smile and I grabbed his hand for him to lead me out of the club. Thank you universe for heading my prayer!

His car was beyond impressive, but I had known earlier that he was a rich kid. We drove down to my hotel and went straight to my room to get down to business.

The receptionist gave me a sly smile as she saw us walk in, and my cheeks burnt red.

His touch was gentle but mind-ravaging! Slowly and tenaciously, he trailed down my body, feeling my curves and destroying my sense of reasoning.

My hands wrapped around his neck as he placed a soft and gentle kiss on my lips that felt as though it had been the breeze! Boy did he know how to tease a woman.

I didn't even realize it as he undid my zip. My nerves were on edge as I felt my dress slide down my body to the floor. Our kiss depended on and I was left moaning. I would have moaned out his name if only I had known it.

A hand cupped my tits and stroked my already hard nipples and all I wanted was to feel him inside me already.

Every kiss and every touch pushed me further and further out of my mind until I was completely insane.

I was left surprised at how his touches had effortlessly driven me out of my mind.

I was once the princess of the Upper East Side, but now I’m just "debt wrapped in pretty skin." To keep my father alive in a federal penitentiary, I signed a contract I didn't fully understand. I thought it was about restoring my family's name, but producer Barnett Orr treated it like a bill of sale for my soul. Inside his limousine, the air smelled like gasoline and fear. Barnett didn't want a star; he wanted a victim. He bruised my jaw and ripped my vintage silk gown to shreds, laughing because he knew I couldn't fight back without signing my father's death warrant. "Don't forget who owns you, Felicity," he whispered. When he dragged me into Dewitt Knight’s penthouse party, I was a walking disaster. I huddled in Barnett’s oversized jacket, my lip bleeding and my spirit shattered. The elite crowd didn't see a victim; they saw a fallen girl selling herself for a role. A former rival poured red wine over me, and the room erupted in cruel laughter while Barnett told everyone he was just "testing my commitment." I looked up at the balcony, locking eyes with Dewitt Knight. He was a god in a bespoke suit, looking down at me with cold, lethal disgust. He didn't see the bruises or the desperation. He only saw a transaction he found beneath him. "So the rumors are true," he said, his voice cutting through the music. "The Aguilars really will do anything for money now. Even this." I was trapped between a monster who wanted to break me and a man who thought I was trash. No one cared that my father's life depended on my silence. When Barnett cornered me in a guest room later that night, his belt jingling like a death knell, I realized no one was coming to save a girl like me. I fought back with a crystal vase, shattering it against his shoulder, but I was drowning in my own terror. Just as Barnett lunged for my throat, the door was kicked off its hinges. Dewitt stood there, finally seeing the blood on the carpet and the map of purple bruises on my bare back. He chased the monster away, but I didn't feel safe. I locked the guest room door, wedged a chair under the handle, and slept with a silver letter opener pressed against my skin. When I crept into the kitchen at midnight and found him waiting in the shadows, I aimed the blade at his heart. "In this house, no one hurts you," he promised, his voice a low velvet rumble. But in a world where I had already been sold once, I knew that even protection came with a price I couldn't afford to pay.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

One Night With The Wrong Brother

One Night With The Wrong Brother

I thought I was waking up in the arms of Arthur, the man I loved. But as the morning light hit the Hamptons estate, the man buttoning his cuffs by the window turned around with eyes like chips of ice. It was Augustus Riddle, Arthur’s cruel younger brother, and I had just spent the night whispering confessions of love into the wrong man's ear. The night I thought was a beautiful beginning turned into a devastating nightmare. Instead of comfort, Gus treated me like a stain on his expensive carpet, scribbling a check for "services rendered" before shoving me into a dark service corridor to hide my existence from his brother. "How much does it cost to buy your silence?" He sneered, before leaving me barefoot in a torrential downpour while he drove away in a luxury Cadillac. Four years later, I am a struggling actress in Los Angeles, working double shifts as a barista just to keep the lights on. My life was finally stable until my roommate dragged me to a high-end dinner to meet her new "influential" boyfriend. The man sitting at the table, looking more arrogant and lethal than ever, was Augustus. He spent the entire night humiliating me, calling me a pathetic amateur and a social climber in front of my only friends. When I fled into the rain and collapsed on the sidewalk, skinning my knee until I bled, he watched from his car. He saw me clutching a plastic baggie containing the taped-together pieces of that four-year-old check—the only proof of my shame. He looked at me like roadkill, rolled up his window, and drove off into the dark. I couldn't understand why he was doing this. Why did he hate me enough to crush me, yet remember that I couldn't handle the smell of cigarette smoke? Why did he leave me bleeding in the street, only to send expensive medical supplies and coffee to my door the very next morning? "I'm moving out." I told my roommates, realizing that Gus Riddle didn't just want to destroy me; he wanted to haunt me. I grabbed my suitcase and walked out with eighty dollars to my name, finally ready to disappear into the city before he could burn the rest of my life to the ground.
