ared his throat. “You must be Lilith,” he said. “Yup!” Lilith squeaked. Her voice failing her when she needed it most. Things did not go any better from there. She tripped through the rest of the interview, blushing profusely and spilling a glass of coffee on herself when she was offered a beverage. Well there was her sign. After her disastrous performance there was no way that the Chamber of Secrets would hire her. She walked forlornly to her car and noticed that the Mercedes Benz was long gone. Tadiwa would probably not ever been interested in someone who did such epic fails in the first place. The victories of all her other interviews withered away as she drove back home and slumped through her studio pad. She made herself some popcorn and decided to wallow in her misery by rewatching seasons of “The L Word”. The next day she only had one interview which went well as she had recovered sufficiently from the previous day’s epic fail. From then on she was free and with another day off to rest. She went through the various jobs she’d applied to. All of them paid R25,000 and above which would be a huge boost for her. She wouldn’t tell her sister that she’d had a salary boost though, but knowing her nosy niece, she would research and find the job offer and put two and two together. Lilith sighed. She loved her family, but they could be too much sometimes. She would have to act like the new job didn’t offer any salary increments but only opportunity for growth. The tactics that she had to use in order to avoid “poor tax”. Lilith sighed as she looked at the job description for the job at the Chamber of Secrets. The salary would have been a whopping R50,000 per month which was ridiculous to Lilith. And she had completely and utterly ruined any chance of her ever being employed there.
