ext morning, Lily drove to her childhood home. She sat in her car for a few minutes, steeling herself for what was to come. As she walked up to the front door, she felt a knot form in her stomach. She knocked on the door, and her mother answered. Her mother's face lit up when she saw Lily. "Oh my goodness, Lily! It's so good to see you!" Lily hugged her mother tightly, tears streaming down her face. "I'm sorry," she said. "I'm sorry for everything." Her mother looked at her with understanding. "It's okay, Lily. We love you, and we've missed you so much." Lily spent the next few days reconnecting with her family. They talked about old times, but they also talked about the pain that had driven her away. Lily finally found the courage to confront her past. She talked about the pain of losing her brother, and how it had driven her to leave her old life behind.
