"A woman was attacked around here. We just want to know if you saw anything." The man laughed, a harsh, grating sound. "Ain't nobody see nothing. And you're barking up the wrong tree, lady. You don't belong here." Olivia gritted her teeth, frustration boiling inside her. They were so close, but the locals were protecting their own, as always. She knew they wouldn't get anything out of them by force. "Let's go," she said to the team, her voice tight. "We're not getting anywhere here." As they backed out of the building, Olivia felt a deep sense of defeat. Smoketown had been a long shot, but now it felt like they were running out of options. "I turned around, and there he was," Kara whispered, her voice shaking. "He was wearing a mask, but I could see his eyes. They were cold, like he was enjoying it." Kara had tried to run, but the man had grabbed her, dragging her into an alley. She'd fought back, scratching and kicking, and in the struggle, she'd managed to break free. She ran until she found help, but the man had disappeared into the night. "Did you see anything e
