Taming the billionaire's son

I stood in front of the young master, fumming with anger. He held his cheeks and stared at me. He had this expression that I couldn't really understand. It was not his usual cold glares; it was something else. I looked at my hand for a while, then immediately regretted slapping him. That was the second time that I was letting my temper get in the way. I could literally lose my job because of that. "I'm sorry, but I just can't give you the food; it's for my boss, I said politely and left. He just stood there, still holding his cheek. I stared at him for a while, then immediately took the food upstairs to Mr. Davis's room. "You can keep the food on the table, he said with a smile-that bright smile that was always fixed on his face. He was a very nice and free person, literally the opposite of his bratty son. "Can you get one of the guest rooms ready? My niece would be visiting tomorrow, and she would be staying for a while." "Okay, Sir" His room was really big and colourful; it had so many pictures of his late wife that I stared at the kind old man for a while and then left. My phone buzzed, and I smiled widely. It was a text from a guy I met recently at school. 'Hey beautiful, what are you up to?' I blushed while I read his message. It was already obvious that he was interested in me, but I wasn't ready for a relationship; I still had a lot I was dealing with. 'I just couldn't stop thinking about you' I laughed out loud when I read that line. He wasn't even trying to hide the fact that he liked me. "This boy must be crazy, I said out loud. I didn't even notice the figure staring at me as I walked to the guest room. "When did Alexander hire such a pretty maid?"A voice said it was a deep masculine voice. I quickly looked up and saw a guy with full curly hair. He wore a black suit with his tie slightly loose. "Damn, you're even prettier up close, he said as he walked closer to me. I just stood there wondering who he was; from the way he was dressed, he couldn't possibly be a worker at the mansion; maybe he was a relative. "Alexander never told me he had such a damsel at his mansion; what's your name, pretty?" He said and tried to hold my hands. I quickly shifted away from him with a frown. "I'm sorry, sir, but I'm not supposed to speak to strangers." I said calmly and tried to walk away, but he quickly blocked me. "Hey, I'm not a stranger. My name is Daniel Robert, but you can call me Danny, he said with a wink. "What's your name? I bet it's just as beautiful as you." He held my hands softly. I could sense that he was a nice person, unlike the young master; he didn't have that cold aura, but he seemed rich. "Chloe, I said softly. He was about to speak when someone spoke from behind us. "Danny, don't you have some better things to do than to stay here and shamelessly flirt with Miss Anderson? Show some dignity,"Alex said coldly as he walked down the stairs.
**Alexander's POV
I just stood there staring at the both of them. Danny reached out to hold her stand; he had that glint in his eyes. They didn't even notice my presence; they were too busy with whatever they were discussing. "What's your name? I bet it's just as beautiful as you." He said it with that cute smile that he usually uses to attract women. I could already tell she was falling for his smile. "Chloe, she said softly. I stared at her in disbelief; she wasn't acting tough as usual; she was being excessively calm and cute at that moment. I felt something burning inside of me as I stared at them. What's so special about him? Why was she acting so calm around him, something she never does around me? I folded my fist angrily. I had to put an end to this, I thought to myself. "Danny, don't you have some better things to do than to stay here and shamelessly flirt with Miss Anderson? Show some dignity." I was trying my best to hide my anger. "Relax, Alex boy, I was just talking to this cutie, he said, still holding her hand. Chloe blushed slightly as she kept staring at the ground. I glared at their hands that were joined together. "Chloe, please can you take the documents in my room to my study and also please clean the place up? I said. I was looking for a way to get her to leave. She looked at me with a frown and was about to refuse. I looked at Danny and then at their hands, and she quickly understood. "Okay sir, she said and walked away. I just stared at her backside as she left. She didn't sound calm when she talked to me; she sounded really rude, but just a few minutes ago she was blushing and smiling at every word Danny said. Was she already falling for his charms? "Mr. Alexander, aren't you going to tell me about her?" Danny asked with a smirk. "She's my father's carer; better stay away from her." "Why? Do you like her?" "No, I don't." "Then you don't have any right to tell me to stay away from her,Danny said as he removed his tie and suit. "What are you doing?" I asked with furrowed brows. "I think I'm going to stay here for a few days and try and get to know Miss Chloe a lot better. Gosh, she's so cute." I glared at him. "Nope, get out now." I packed his bags for him and began to push him out. "Hey, is that how you treat your best friend?" "Yes, get out; you can't stay here." I pushed him out the door and locked it. "Bro, this is my house too, you know, he laughed as he banged on the front door. A few hours later, after Danny had finally left, I went straight to my study. Chloe sat on a chair as she stared at the book in her front; she was paying so much attention to it that she didn't notice my presence. I just stared at her with a smile; she looked so cute and calm. I began to recall all that happened the night I came back from the club. I remembered falling into her warm embrace and the way her breath brushed against my skin. "Damn"I said. She quickly looked up and dropped the book she was holding. "I think I'm done cleaning the study, sir." 'Sir?' It sounded weird hearing her call me that. She turned and left, but she couldn't open the door; it was stuck. "Shit, looks like this stupid door has started again. I wanted to get it fixed this week, I said and reached out to call Harry, but then what I saw made me shiver in fright. "Why...is...that...here?" I stared at the object on the floor. I never thought I'd see that horrifying thing again. "What's wrong?" Chloe asked and looked in the direction I was looking and saw a black knife with red flame marks on the side. "Oh, you mean this? It's totally harmless, she said as she picked it up. "No, please take that away from me!!!" I screamed in fright as I held my head with my hands. Images of the cruel event began to flash in my mind. I could see a man dressed in black pushing a woman into a room, and some other masked men lay her on the floor and flogged her. I could see the red marks on her face clearly as she stared at me in fear. "No... no.. please don't touch her." "Please leave her alone!!"I screamed as I sat on the floor with tears in my eyes. My head was hurting really bad, and my heart was pounding really hard. "It's okay; please don't cry; it's going to be okay." "Look, I've gotten rid of the knife, Chloe said calmly, then held my hands as she wiped the tears from my eyes. My head slowly stopped aching me. I pulled her closer to me and placed my head on her shoulder, then closed my eyes and drifted off to a wonderland.
