Dare came to stand beside her, his eyes darting over the high brick walls and rusted gates that lined the alley. "This is it," Zara said, her voice low. "This is where we make our stand." Dare frowned. "What are you talking about? This is a dead-end. We can't-" His words were cut off by the sound of approaching footsteps. They were almost upon them now.
