Short stories When Zheng Mimi, a brilliant chef working in Starlight-a popular restaurant in China-accidentally eats a rotten egg, she finds herself in the same story she had been reading nonstop.
The story being 'The Overwhelming Lord's Sweet Consort'. A web novel that had attracted readers not only because of the angelic female lead and masculine male lead, but also because of the secondary female lead, Princess Yu Zhenzhen.

As the princess cursed the duo that had been the main cause of her death in the epilogue of the story, Zheng Mimi finds her soul sucked into the story, portraying as the same evil princess, except a year before her death incident.
Now, Zheng Mimi is fighting a battle of survival. Which means staying away from all those who have caused the original Yu Zhenzhen's death and hopefully living a peaceful life without the interference of anyone.

A painting of blood-drenched lands, how can it rival the cinnabar between your brows*.
(*TN: Cinnabar is a similar color to blood, and cinnabar between the brows symbolizes beauty. This line is an allegory to conquest versus beautiful women) Reborn as the Nightingale: Escaping the Duke's Poisoned Marriage
Xin Miaomiao I died with the taste of bitter almonds burning in my throat.
My husband, Kian Ferguson, watched me collapse over the poisoned wine. He did not call for help. He did not kneel beside me. He only looked at me with cold, satisfied eyes, as if my death had finally made room for the woman he truly wanted—his delicate cousin, Isabelle.
In my first life, I begged for his love.
I endured his family's humiliation. I drank the bitter tonics they forced upon me in the name of fertility, even as my body grew weaker by the day. I was blamed for an empty nursery, mocked as a barren wife, and trapped in a marriage that was slowly killing me.
Then I opened my eyes again.
I was back five years in the past, riding beside Kian at the King's autumn hunt—the very day I first saw how he looked at Isabelle.
This time, I did not weep. I did not fight for him.
I returned to Blackwood Manor and asked for an annulment.
Kian laughed in my face.
"You want to leave?" he said, seizing my arms. "There are only two ways out of this marriage, Adeline. In a coffin, or with my permission. And I will grant you neither."
I went to the King for justice.
The Crown turned me away.
They all believed I had nowhere left to run. A discarded wife. A useless vine. A woman with no power, no allies, and no future beyond the Duke's gilded cage.
They were wrong.
I sold my dowry in secret. I bought merchant ships under a hidden name. I gathered remedies, debts, secrets, and gold.
If no one would grant me freedom, I would purchase it myself.
If no one would give me justice, I would become powerful enough to demand it.
And by the time Kian Ferguson realizes his unwanted wife has become the mysterious Nightingale, it will be far too late to cage me again. An English Writer
San Lin Tun When an inquisitive young man finds a tattered old poetry book which had slipped behind shelves at the back of a musty second-hand book shop in Rangoon/Yangon, his curiosity about the long-forgotten author is sparked. But bookworm Lin’s quest to find out more about the life of the mysterious, unheralded colonial author takes him into a labyrinth where he discovers truth and lies. When bewildered Lin accidentally loses the book, is everything lost? This suspense-filled tale reveals heart-warming surprises, and ultimately, secrets about life remembering and immortality.
The novel is mainly about the forgotten British poet/writer named C. J Richards who lived in Burma/Myanmar in colonial times and he believed himself as a Burmophile. He served as I.C.S (Indian Civil Servant) and when he retired from I.C.S service, he was a D.C (District Commissioner) and he left for England a year before Burma gained its independence in 1948. He came to Burma in 1920 to work in civil service after passing the hardest I.C.S examination. He wrote several books on Burma and contributed many monthly articles to Guardian Magazine published in Burma from 1953 to 1974 or 1975. Though he wrote several books which had much literary merit to both communities, Britain and Burma (Myanmar), people failed to recognize him.
The story has three parts: one part is set in the contemporary Yangon (then called Rangoon) in 2016 and 2017 context and a young literary enthusiast named “Lin” found out unexpectedly the forgotten writer's poetry book and there is surely a good deal of time gap that led him into a quest to know more about the author’s life. The setting is quite different compared to colonial Burma and independence Myanmar (Burma), early twentieth century and 2016 which is a transitional period in Myanmar.
The writer’s life is fictionalized in the novel and most of the facts are taken from his personal stories and other reference books. It is a kind of historical novel with a twist and it has comparatively constructed the two different periods in Myanmar history to convince readers, locally and abroad more about history, authorship, humanity, colonialism, and transitional development in Myanmar today.
