Mafia's Forbidden Touch Chapter 1 1

Catherine:

"We're sorry, but miss Moretti, if you don't pay the bill any time soon, I'm afraid we can no longer offer our services" The nurse said, a sad look on her face.

My mother had been laying on the same bed for a few weeks, the treatments took all the money that was left.

I nod, looking back at the nurse, "Just make sure my mother is fine, I'll handle the bills" I answered her, glancing at my mom's thin, weak body through the window.

"And please, don't allow anyone in..." I added, my eyes suddenly staring at the nurse's surprised face.

"Well, there was this man...He said he's a friend. He even left flowers" My eyes widened, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.

"What? And you let him in?" My voice was suddenly loud, as I watched her pale face staring back at me in shock.

I took a closer step toward her, my jaw clenching as I continued to shoot her the same deadly glare.

"I apologize, it was a huge mistake..." The nurse looked down as she gulped nervously.

"Just make sure that won't happen again" I warned, and when she finally nodded her head I left, even though I'm still a bit terrified and scared to death.

I knew he'd come and visit, but I guess I didn't know it'd be so fast!

It's been two years since we last saw him, my father. After discovering his big secret, we decided to leave everything behind: our huge mansion, our jewelry, and the man who provided all that stuff.

I sighed, realizing that my feet were already leading me outside the hospital, not having any clue where I was going.

I dialed some of our relatives' numbers, even some of my mother's friends, but none of them picked up. It was as if they never knew my mother, either that or they just quit knowing us after they heard she was sick and needed their help.

I sighed, wiping the tear that'd been struggling to fall, still wandering aimlessly down the street, but suddenly a red lightning sign blinded my sight, capturing my attention right away.

I looked up and narrowed my eyes, as if that red sign suddenly wasn't something you could just ignore and walk away from. Like it was the sign, the solution to all of my problems.

The sign said "For Gentlemen Only"

I frowned, lost in my thoughts for a moment, a bad idea started to form in my head, and for an unknown reason, my lips mumbled the words:

"They say everything comes with a price".

I then shook my head, there was no way in hell I was giving my body to some stranger and for what? For some money!

The conversation inside my head was suddenly interrupted by the presence of a tall strong muscular guy, who was wearing a black long coat.

My eyes darted to his sharp, well- defined chin. For some reason, I never dared to look up into his eyes. Maybe because, somehow, I was afraid to stare back at him. There was something about him, I could tell just from the shape of his chin, and the strength of his shoulders. The way he walked as if he already owned not just that street, but the whole city.

He stopped, still staring down at me, I could feel his burning gaze on me, just to realize a minute later I was blocking his way towards the house of pleasures.

I cleared my throat, stepping aside immediately. My face heated up all of a sudden when I glimpsed a playful smirk on the corner of his lips.

The tall guy suddenly passed by me, mumbling something I couldn't catch.

The wealth was very clear on that guy, his clothes, his confidence, and the fancy black Mercedes that was parked a few centimeters away from him.

I sneaked a peek at the driver's seat to see a driver already sitting behind the wheel, smoking a cigarette and scrolling on his phone, seeming all bored.

As I was about to leave my spot, a female voice stopped me in my tracks.

"You!" I froze for a moment, then looked towards a middle aged woman standing at the entrance.

"Me?" I ask, gulping nervously. The woman was wearing a lot of makeup, and don't even let me start talking about her slutty outfit.

"Come here" Her order left me speechless as I blinked twice before finally walking hesitantly towards her.

"I have a great offer for you, are you interested?" she asked, her green wide eyes scanning me from head to toe, and it took a long time from me before finally realizing what she meant by that.

"N_No...I'm not" I shake my head, feeling disgusted. Her eyelashes were weighed down with mascara, and the strong smell of alcohol coming from her direction was repelling.

The disappointment on her face was really obvious as she stopped chewing the gum, giving me a cold serious glare.

"Are you sure? It's a great offer" Her question made me realize that this is my chance, and I should just take it, but another voice kept beeping deep down, that what I was doing was wrong, and that I should just continue to walk away from this dirty place, and forget about this whole stupid idea.

My mom would be so disappointed, and mad at me. She had suffered a lot those past few years, and didn't do that just so I would give myself to some stranger for some money in the end!

I shook my head unwillingly, shooting her one last deadly glare before finally turning around.

"He says everything comes with a price" She blurted, louder this time, grabbing my attention.

Wasn't it the same thing I said moments ago?

I stood in my spot, speechless, and paralyzed. I wondered what she saw in me that made her so stubborn to let me go...

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch-a titan of industry and my best friend's father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

Neglected Wife: Hidden Heiress's Cold Revenge

I stood in the pouring rain at my father-in-law's funeral, the heels of my black pumps sinking into the mud. I was Mrs. Vargas, the wife of New York's most powerful billionaire, yet I was standing at the edge of the crowd like a forgotten statue. Ten feet away, under the dry shelter of the family tent, my husband Hayes held another woman against his chest. It wasn't me he was whispering comfort to; it was Felicity, his late brother's widow and childhood sweetheart. The humiliation didn't end at the cemetery. Hayes moved Felicity and her son into our home, relegating me to the guest wing while she took over the primary suites. He watched silently as her son smashed the only photograph of my deceased parents, then demanded I apologize for "scaring" the boy with my reaction. When Felicity's negligence ruined a twelve-million-dollar family heirloom, Hayes had the audacity to ask me to use my own savings to buy her a "consolation" engagement ring. He treated me like a parasite, never realizing I was a brilliant scientist with a hidden fortune and three patents to my name. I realized then that our three-year marriage was a hollow farce. Hayes had never even touched me, claiming he wanted to "remain pure" for his memory of Felicity. I was nothing more than a business merger, a smudge on the lens of the perfect family portrait he was building with another man's widow. The breaking point came during a lethal blizzard. Hayes promised to accompany me to my family's mandatory gala-a tradition where my absence meant a death sentence. But at the last second, he stood me up to stay home and tend to Felicity's stubbed toe. Left alone to face the wrath of the Santos Matriarch, I was forced to kneel in the freezing snow as punishment until my lungs began to fail and my vision blurred. Just as the darkness started to take me, a black Maybach smashed through the iron gates. My exiled brother, the man the world calls "The Wolf," stepped out of the storm to reclaim what Hayes had discarded. Hayes thought I was a helpless doll who couldn't survive a day without his trust fund, but he's about to find out what happens when you let a Santos daughter freeze.

One Night With The Wrong Brother

One Night With The Wrong Brother

Tangye Wanzi

I thought I was waking up in the arms of Arthur, the man I loved. But as the morning light hit the Hamptons estate, the man buttoning his cuffs by the window turned around with eyes like chips of ice. It was Augustus Riddle, Arthur’s cruel younger brother, and I had just spent the night whispering confessions of love into the wrong man's ear. The night I thought was a beautiful beginning turned into a devastating nightmare. Instead of comfort, Gus treated me like a stain on his expensive carpet, scribbling a check for "services rendered" before shoving me into a dark service corridor to hide my existence from his brother. "How much does it cost to buy your silence?" He sneered, before leaving me barefoot in a torrential downpour while he drove away in a luxury Cadillac. Four years later, I am a struggling actress in Los Angeles, working double shifts as a barista just to keep the lights on. My life was finally stable until my roommate dragged me to a high-end dinner to meet her new "influential" boyfriend. The man sitting at the table, looking more arrogant and lethal than ever, was Augustus. He spent the entire night humiliating me, calling me a pathetic amateur and a social climber in front of my only friends. When I fled into the rain and collapsed on the sidewalk, skinning my knee until I bled, he watched from his car. He saw me clutching a plastic baggie containing the taped-together pieces of that four-year-old check—the only proof of my shame. He looked at me like roadkill, rolled up his window, and drove off into the dark. I couldn't understand why he was doing this. Why did he hate me enough to crush me, yet remember that I couldn't handle the smell of cigarette smoke? Why did he leave me bleeding in the street, only to send expensive medical supplies and coffee to my door the very next morning? "I'm moving out." I told my roommates, realizing that Gus Riddle didn't just want to destroy me; he wanted to haunt me. I grabbed my suitcase and walked out with eighty dollars to my name, finally ready to disappear into the city before he could burn the rest of my life to the ground.
