Alina was raised as an omega maid, and she was kept out of sight and considered a nothing. However, when her pack is deprived of all their belongings at the end of the war, her stepbrother sells her as a sacrifice to the most dreaded rulers in the world, the twin Lycan kings, Kael and Kaden. A single night out with them transforms all that. They brand her as their mate, but the mark fades away by morning. The council calls her cursed. A fake Luna is brought in. And in a short time, Alina has been put in the position of a thief, a liar and a betrayer. Being hunted by the kings she loves, pushed back to the pack which abused her, Alina becomes the Alpha when she discovers the truth about the deaths of her parents. But the kings come back, imploring to be given another opportunity. Her wolf is dying. Her enemies are closing in. And the one, who can rescue her, must sacrifice all of it, even his wolf. At this point, Alina has to decide between revenge, power and the two men she can never forget.

Chapter 1 Visiting the Graves

Alina's pov

"Heavens." I mumbled as I looked at the sky.

The sun had just begun sending thin rays of golden light across the forest as I walked on the path leading to my parents' graves. Even till today, I felt a hollow ache in my chest, and their absence pressed on me like a weight that could never be escaped. The war had taken them away and left me stuck in this pack ruled by my sadistic younger stepbrother.

Damon.

I slowed down as I moved toward a small clearing where their graves lay. Over the years, the earth had settled unevenly, and the stone markers bore the marks of weather and time.

I knelt carefully, trembling fingers brushing away fallen petal leaves. "I miss you," I whispered, my voice cracking. "It has been years, years, and yet it still feels like yesterday. I so wish you were here to see what is happening. I wish you could fix it. I wish you could come back and save the pack. We are all suffering without you father."

I pressed my palm against the rough stone, feeling its coldness and roughness on my skin. "The pack... it is falling apart," I said softly to the stone as if my father were sitting there and listening to me. "Ever since Damon turned Alpha, nothing has been the same. He never seems to care about the people, lands, and families who once trusted us. All he cares about is himself. To appease his lustful desires, he obtains a new mistress every passing day for himself. He robs our lower pack members of their teenagers without any reason, and keeps trying to find a lady to make himself, happy and any who rejects he forcefully goes to bed with. Brcause of this breeders and girls run from the pack. And me..." My hand shook as it moved over the engraved letters of their names. "I am still here hurt, beaten, abuse and unable to flee. But I don't understand why he treats me like I don't matter. I don't understand why he treats me like it seems I am not his sister."

My eyes closed, forcing breath inside me; yesterday's memories clawed me. Damon had tried to touch me, he had tried to have sex with me, but I had shouted, pushed him, and he hadnt listened. His hands turned cruel and he pinned me down with sheer strength, mercilessly hitting me in anger, leaving many long, dark bruises on my arms, sides, and back from trying to force himself on me. I had escaped but my body reminded me every second that my escape had come with a price.

"I shouldn't have fought him," I muttered, pressing my palm to my bruised arm. "I should have kept quiet and done what he wanted, but I... I couldn't. He was going to touch me. I couldn't be still while my younger brother forced himself on me. I just... I didn't know what else to do." My fingers traced the long marks that ran across my skin, and I winced at the lingering pain. "I hope you forgive me for being hurt again. I tried to protect myself... I tried to survive but I ended up getting hurt."

I lowered my head, taking a deep breath to steady myself. "I feel so alone without you. I keep surviving because I have to, but it's hard. It's so hard." My voice broke, and I pressed my forehead to the stone one more time. The memories-warmth and protection from the voices belonging to my parents-wash over me like a tide I could no longer reach. The last time I felt loved and safe was now a fading memory.

After several long moments, I stood slowly and brushed dirt from my clothes. I needed to do something ordinary, something that reminded me I was still alive. Passing through the market on my way home seemed like the only way to feel normal-even if for a little while.

The market was coming to life as vendors called out customers to their wares. I kept my head down, trying to blend into the crowd. My feet moved quickly but carefully, and I focused on the bread stall first. I selected a few pieces of bread, fresh and soft, and added a few pieces of meat to the basket. I paid the vendor quickly, ignoring the curious glances of those around me. I did not want to attract notice. For years, my life had been filled with hiding, chores, and the fear of Damon.

As I walked through the narrow streets, wading in the short memory of what had transpired yesterday despite now hard I tried to forget, it would not leave my face. Damon's was a wolf driven crazy with lust, his sense or reasoning and boundaries blurred by lust even when I confronted him with the fact that I was related to him by blood, he just did not care.

"Stop thinking about it, just head home, eat and nurse yourself back to health. You never know when he is going to come back or what new tricks would be up his sleeves this time around." I told myself.

The walk back to my house stretched much longer than usual, every step heavy and laced with fear and exhaustion. I held the basket tightly to my chest as though I feared one of Damon's guards would appear out of no where and snatch my basket, something that was almost a frequent occurrence.

My relief at getting home , with my basket still intact, evaporated as I saw three guards standing rigidly before the door.

My breathing caught in my throat. The basket slipped slightly against my fingers. The eyes of the guards were sharp, and one of them frowned the second he saw me.

"Guards?" I asked, voice trembling, "What are you doing here? What, what do you want?"

One of them stepped forward, the tallest of the three, and pointed at me with a firm, unyielding finger. "You," he said, his voice low and steady, "the Alpha demands you be at the palace."

For seventeen years, I was the pride of the Carlisle family, the perfect daughter destined to inherit an empire. But that life ended the moment a DNA report slid across my father’s mahogany desk. The paper proved I was a stranger. Vanessa, the girl sobbing in the corner, was the real biological daughter they had been searching for. "You need to leave. Tonight. Before the press gets wind of this. Before the stock prices dip." My father’s voice was as cold as flint. My mother wouldn't even look at me, staring out the window at the gardens as if I were already a ghost. Just like that, I was erased. I left behind the Birkin bags and the diamonds, throwing my Centurion Card into a crystal bowl with a clatter that echoed like a gunshot. I walked out into the cold night and climbed into a rusted Ford Taurus driven by a man I had never met—my biological father. I went from a mansion to a fourth-floor walk-up in Queens that smelled of laundry detergent and struggle. My new siblings looked at me with a mix of fear and disgust, waiting for the "fallen princess" to break. They expected me to beg for my old life back, to crumble without the luxury I’d known since birth. But they didn't know the truth. I had spent years training in a shark tank, honing survival skills they couldn't imagine. While Richard Carlisle froze my trust funds to starve me out, my net worth was climbing by millions on an encrypted trading app. They thought they were throwing me to the wolves. They didn't realize they were just letting me off my leash. As the Carlisles prepared to debut Vanessa at the Manhattan Arts Gala, I was already making my move. "Get dressed. We're going to a party."

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.
