On our one-year anniversary, I waited in red silk, praying my Alpha, Alex, would finally mark me as his Luna. Instead, a notification popped up on his tablet: "The Omega Prank." I tapped it and watched a livestream of him draping the Moonstone Necklace around another woman's neck, laughing that I smelled like desperation. It turned out the last year of my life was just a bet. A game to entertain the bored elites. But the humiliation didn't stop at the truth. Alex forced me to wear a diamond collar at the Charity Gala, parading me as "The Alpha's Pet" while the pack laughed. When his grandmother ordered me beaten with a cane for a painting his mistress ruined, Alex didn't stop them. He just poured a drink and looked away while the wood cracked against my spine. I didn't scream. I just watched him check his phone, indifferent to my blood. He thought he could exile me to a winter cabin to keep his "embarrassment" hidden. He didn't know I had already initiated the Ghost Protocol. I staged a bloody scene at the cliff's edge, making it look like a rogue attack. Standing over the freezing black water, I looked back one last time and severed the bond. "I reject you, Alex Bradley." Then I jumped, leaving him with nothing but a fake suicide scene and a regret that would come too late.

Chapter 1

Jillian POV:

The penthouse smelled like rosemary, seared steak, and my own desperation. Tonight was our one-year anniversary. One year since Alex Bradley, Alpha of the Obsidian Pack, took me-a wolf-less orphan from Silver Lake-into his bed.

I smoothed the red silk over my hips. His favorite color. I'd spent all day prepping, praying that tonight he'd finally announce me as his Luna. The Moon Goddess doesn't make mistakes. I felt the pull the second we met-that magnetic tether in my chest.

But Alex was late. Again.

I walked to the sofa to move his tablet to the study. The screen lit up. A notification from a group chat: "The Omega Prank."

My stomach dropped. I tapped the icon.

Charlotte (Beta): Still playing house with the stray? It's been a year, Alex. You won the bet. Pay up.

Warrior Mark: Come on, Alpha. You proved the trash thinks she's royalty. End it.

Alex (Alpha): Patience. I'm picking up the necklace for Charlotte now. The little Omega actually thinks I'm going to Mark her tonight. It's pathetic.

I read the words until they blurred. A bet. Just a game to entertain the bored elites. All the gentle touches, the whispers-lies.

A video file popped up. A livestream.

On screen, Alex stood in the pack vault, looking devastating in a black suit. Beside him was Charlotte Burgess, a high-ranking Beta, blonde and gloating.

"Look at this," Charlotte giggled, holding up the Moonstone Necklace-the artifact meant for the Alpha's true mate. "Does it smell like wet dog? I bet Jillian's scent is all over you."

Alex laughed. It wasn't a cruel laugh, just dismissive. Like he was talking about an annoying pet. "She smells like desperation, Charlotte. But don't worry. After tonight, I'm done with the charity case."

He draped the necklace around Charlotte's neck and inhaled the scent of her illegal masking agent.

I dropped the tablet.

My inner wolf let out a high-pitched whine. For a year, I'd taken the sneers, the 'bed-warmer' comments, because I believed in the bond. But to him, I was just a punchline.

The elevator chimed.

I wiped my face instantly. I wouldn't give him the satisfaction.

I pulled my phone and opened the encrypted Delphi Network app-an underground railroad for abused Omegas.

Initiate Ghost Protocol. Target date: The Blood Moon.

Three months. I needed time to move my grandmother's assets.

The door opened. Alex walked in with a massive bouquet of red roses. They reeked of Charlotte's cloying perfume.

"Jillian," he said, flashing that smile that used to melt me. "Happy anniversary."

He held out the flowers.

I looked at the man who had just mocked my existence. I summoned every ounce of Omega submission training to keep my face blank.

"Thank you, Alex," I said, taking the tainted flowers.

He reached out to stroke my cheek. Usually, sparks would fly. Tonight, my skin crawled. He was blocking the bond, refusing to acknowledge what was right in front of him.

He glanced at the calendar where I'd circled the Blood Moon.

"What's that?" he asked, a smirk playing on his lips. "Planning a vacation? Or expecting a ring?"

"It's a surprise," I lied. "For you."

"I love surprises."

He had no idea. On that date, the Omega he toyed with would vanish. I looked into his eyes and mentally severed the hope connecting us.

I was already gone.

The rain hammered against my windowpane, a relentless drumbeat mirroring the dull throb in my abdomen-a constant reminder of the child I' d lost. My husband, Captain David Miller, was a celebrated hero on TV, his charismatic smile a stark contrast to the corroding rust of our marriage. Right there, beside him, was Chloe, my best friend, looking at him with adoration, her hand tucked in his arm. They didn' t know the real David, not like I did. The betrayal had been a slow, agonizing descent, a series of small, sharp cuts. Late nights, calls taken in hushed tones, excuses woven around Chloe' s supposed fragility. "She' s fragile, Scar," he' d say, "You' re strong. You understand." I tried to, but then he missed our anniversary for her panic attack, my doctor' s appointment for her broken-down car. Each time, a piece of my trust chipped away. The final, unforgivable act came when I lay bleeding on the floor, calling him in a choked whisper. "David, please. Something' s wrong. I' m… I' m bleeding." I heard Chloe' s tearful voice in the background, "David, don' t go. I need you." He hesitated. That cold, sharp hesitation twisted in my gut. He never came. I lost our baby alone in a sterile hospital room while he comforted her. He truly cared more about her feelings than our child. Months later, with my mother' s funeral underway, Chloe approached me again. "It' s like she had to go so my son could live," she whispered, claiming my dying mother was a necessary sacrifice for her child. My suppressed rage ignited. This woman, who had manipulated my husband, stolen my locket, and had a piece of my body donated to her, was now mocking my grief. "I want a divorce, David," I declared, the words cutting through the chaos. He tried to deny it, to plead, to promise. But his love was poison, and I was done. I walked away from the graveside, leaving behind the man who had destroyed everything. With the help of my father' s old friend, an opportunity for a new life, a new name, appeared. I didn' t look back as I dropped my wedding ring into a trash can at the airport. It made a small, tinny sound, the final note on a life I was leaving behind. As the city lights faded below, I felt a flicker of peace. My past was over. My future was waiting.

The Pierre Hotel smelled of old money and stale ambition, but all I could taste was the copper of my own rage. I stood in the back of the ballroom, a "mute" shadow in a silk dress, watching my sister Brande play the grieving saint on stage. She wiped away a fake tear, telling the crowd I was too "unstable" to attend my own engagement party. In reality, I was watching her share a secret, intimate squeeze with my fiancé, Chase Sterling, right under the blinding spotlight. When I finally hit "execute" and projected the video of them together in a hotel suite for the entire elite crowd to see, the room went cold. But the nightmare was just beginning. Instead of apologizing, my father crushed his scotch glass and told me to fix the mess. He demanded I issue a public statement claiming I had a mental breakdown and "hallucinated" the whole thing. "If you don't corroborate the Deepfake story, I'll have you committed to a facility with barred windows," he hissed. Brande just smirked from the corner, mocking me for being a "mute waste of space" who didn't even realize my own trust fund had paid for the diamonds around her neck. I realized then that in this family, silence wasn't a disability—it was a target. They thought because I didn't speak, I didn't have a voice. They thought they could use my silence to bury the truth and save their precious stock prices. They were wrong. I didn't just leak a video; I had the keys to every secret they ever tried to hide. I walked out of that hotel and straight into the black sedan of Julian Curtis, my father’s most ruthless rival and the only man who knew what really happened the night of the blizzard in Aspen. I handed him the encrypted files that would trigger a hostile takeover of my family’s empire. As the city blurred past, I looked at the man who held my future in his hands and typed one final message on my phone. "I'm not here to be saved. I'm here to be the knife."

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.
