Lucia Mclean did not rise to become the first female Alpha in three decades by believing in fate. She rules the oldest and most feared territory in Varron with blood, fear, and an iron will that has never once wavered. To her pack, she is a goddess. To her enemies, a monster. And to herself, she is untouchable. Until her fated mate turns out to be the one man who could destroy everything she's built. Jacob Hayes is a quiet cook from the Northern Pack-human-hearted, soft-spoken, and completely unprepared to be bound to the most ruthless Alpha in the four territories. Their bond is forbidden, dangerous, and politically explosive. Loving him could cost Lucia her throne. Rejecting him could spark a war. As rebellion stirs and the obsessive Northern Alpha sets his sights on claiming both Lucia's land and her mate, Lucia must choose between the power that made her untouchable and the bond that makes her human. In a world ruled by fear, even fate can become a weapon-and a broken bond can be deadlier than any blade.

The Ruthless Female Alpha Regin Chapter 1 The Tyrant

Lucia's POV

Listen-and listen well.

We will continue as we have before, striking them at the heart-fierce and fast-in the deepest hour of the night.

I stood before my council of elders.

"But, Alpha," one of them said, "how do you intend to capture their Alpha? He is known for his strength and tight borders."

Like I said earlier. In case you are deaf.

We will follow the same system and strategy we have used for the past six months-hit them when they least expect it, capture their Alpha, and claim their territory.

I scanned their faces and saw the unease ripple through the ancient wolves. Their restlessness almost amused me. I wanted to kill them all and be done with it, but for now, I endured their foolishness.

Being the first female Alpha in nearly three decades was a war of its own. At every turn, someone tried to undermine or overlook my authority. I learned the hard way what it took to survive.

There was no going back.

The only way for a woman to hold power and respect was to become as cold as ice.

And that was exactly what I had become.

I stood before the traitors, blade in hand. I had beheaded so many men that death felt like routine now. I grabbed the first by his hair, yanked his head back, and gutted him like an animal.

In less than a minute, they were all dead.

I walked back slowly, hands drenched in blood, my eyes fixed on the elders-daring them to speak, daring them to give me a reason to carve through every single one of them.

They stood in silence.

"We march at dawn to the Red Sky Pack."

I didn't need their approval. Their opinions meant nothing.

We hid along the outer edges of the border, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Some might have wondered why I claimed every territory within my reach.

That answer was mine alone.

Midnight came.

And so did my victory.

My blade rested against Alpha Liam's throat. He would either surrender himself, withdraw his claim over his pack and land-or die.

His Beta and Gamma lay gutted at my feet. Only his Luna and son remained.

Just before I reached them, he broke.

"I, Alpha Liam of the Red Sky Pack, relinquish my rights, my territory, and my pack to Alpha Lucia of the Crimson Eagle Pack."

Triumph surged through me.

Six powerful territories now bowed to my command, each pack drinking my blood and swearing allegiance.

Finally, no one could oppose me.

We took everything-their gold, their strongest warriors, their resources. We searched every corner of the territory and found nothing of interest.

Then I heard voices.

From the kitchen oven.

"Open it."

The moment my eyes met his, I knew he would be a problem.

A hindrance.

My wolf chanted inside me.

Mate. Mate. Mate.

How could I be bound to a nobody?

His eyes were wide-soft, doe-like, and terrified. He stared at me like prey measuring its chances of escape.

I grabbed his shirt and dragged him out. The contact made my skin burn, and the sensation only fueled my irritation.

He was tall but thin.

He had wet himself in fear.

I wanted to reject him.

And at the same time, to keep him.

Before I could decide, pain exploded through my chest.

I looked down.

A knife.

I looked up and saw my mate's hands buried deep in my heart.

"I will do the world a favor and rid it of you," he said, "even if it means killing my own mate."

Sorrow and joy collided inside me.

He was a challenge.

And utterly unpredictable.

He drove the blade deeper.

I fell to my knees, my eyes never leaving his as I drew my final breath.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.
