The last thing Anna ever expected was to be caught up in a trap that she set herself. She had just placed herself under Vincent's radar-the most influential man in the city, a golden bachelor. He looked at her in the eye, like a hunter aiming for his prey. "Listen carefully," he said snidely, smirking. "You're mine now. The rest of your life serves to pay your price. The best way you could make up to me is to live with me."

Everlasting Love Chapter 1 Mr. Unique In The Night Club

Anna An was busy fixing her make up in the lounge when Mandy, the woman in charge of the girls, walked up to her. "Hurry up," she demanded. "Jack Huang's here again."

Her forehead wrinkled in unwillingness as Anna An dabbed the powder across her neck. "He's probably here to convince me to cooperate with him."

Jack Huang was the boss of the PA Construction Company. He had good relations with Haley from this club. In fact, he'd often convince her to help him set up a trap for other businessmen. First, he'd ask her to get that person drunk. Once they were clouded over with alcohol, he would coax them to sign his contract. Anna An always hated such actions.

"Exactly!"

Mandy hurriedly dragged Anna An out of the room. "You have such a good reputation in the HY Club! Not only are you a heavy drinker, but you're a good convincer. Since Haley screwed it up last time, Jack chose to ask you to help him next. He's asking you to drink with him. I know you don't like him, so I told you first. Go! I'll deal with him."

"Anna, stop!"

Before they could walk out of the corridor, Jeff Xu, stopped them. He was the manager working in the HY Club. "Where are you going? Didn't Jack ask you to accompany him? Did you tell her, Mandy? Are you helping her to sneak out? Do you even want to continue working in the HY Club? If you don't want to stay, then it's fine by me!"

"Manager Xu, I..." Mandy stuttered out.

"Manager Xu, I'm not feeling well today. I asked Mandy to let me go before she could tell me. This has nothing to do with her."

"What do you think you're doing here?"

Jeff Xu forced Anna An into a corner. "You're a lady of the HY Club. Even if you don't feel comfortable, you'll accompany the guest if he asks you to! Aren't you aware of the rules? I don't give it a shit if you're sick or whatever. Serve him now!"

When she didn't move, Jeff Xu clenched her jaw. His eyes flashed dangerously under the lights. "Don't forget that you owe our HY Club a loan of nearly a million dollars. Do you need me to remind you of the person lying in the hospital bed? Do you really think you have any other choice?"

"But–"

He whispered something in her ear. Upon hearing what he had said, Anna An's face paled. "You can't do this," she protested.

"It's up to you."

"I..."

Anna An's eyes glistened in hatred. Her heart was already beating so fast as she stared at the man in front of her. She gave up in the end.

Now, she was at Jack Huang's mercy.

"Fine. Whatever."

Taking a deep breath, Anna An plastered a large smile on her face as she gracefully entered the private room. "Mr. Huang, you're here," she exclaimed. "I've been looking forward to seeing you."

Jack Huang was around forty-year-old. He greedily took in Anna's figure before winking at her. "Let me introduce you to a friend of mine–Vincent Lu. He's my distinguished guest, so you have to serve him well. Disappoint him, and I'll skin you alive."

Anna glanced at the man he was referring to, her eyes widening in surprise. She definitely wasn't expecting such a type. The man had aristocratic features with high cheek bones and a tall nose. There was something regal about his stature that could intimidate anyone. He was unique from all the men she had served.

"What's wrong? Are you enchanted by Mr. Vincent already? What do you think you should do next?"

Jack Huang touched Anna's shoulder in warning, and the latter nodded. A smile slipped her lips as she showed Vincent Lu a glass of wine. "Mr. Vincent," she slurred, "I was behaving inappropriately just now. How about I'll punish myself by having a glass of wine?"

Vincent Lu didn't say a word. He coldly stared at her, which she found rather interesting. After all, she was one of the most beautiful women in the bar. How could he not be attracted to her?

She raised her glass and took a sip. Without another word, Anna quickly picked up another glass towards him. "Mr. Vincent, how about taking a drink? The wine tastes so good. Would you like a taste?"

He shot her a look, and she almost trembled at the sight. It was clear that he didn't like her to come closer, but if she couldn't complete the task, then what would become of her?

After pondering for a while, Anna plucked up the courage to bring to the glass towards Vincent's lips. At her action, his face darkened. Without another word, he grabbed Anna's neck, holding her up. He looked like a predator eyeing his prey. "You're nothing but a bitch! You think you're qualified to let me drink your wine?"

She sputtered out in shock as he held her up. Vincent Lu quickly grabbed a bottle from the table before forcing Anna to gulp it all down. "You wanted to drink, didn't you? Drink! Drink it all up!"

The pungent liquid passed through her throat as she continued to choke. Anna continued to struggle beneath him, her eyes turning glassy in an instant. However, Vincent Lu didn't even care. It was not until he poured all of the five bottles Jack Huang ordered did he finally fling her away. Anna's waist fell against the corner of the glass tea table. She paled as her whole body trembled.

Before anyone knew what was happening, Anna vomited all over the carpet.

Her body convulsed.

She wanted to stop herself, but it felt as if her impulse was out of her control.

Anna didn't know how long she vomited, but she could already see small traces of blood across her vomit. Her stomach cramped painfully as she winced. Finally, she was able to calm herself down.

A small smile threaded across her lips as she stared up at the pair. She was about to relieve the situation when Jack's fist fell on her face. "Slut! I asked you to drink, not to disgust us! Bitch– just fuck off! Get out of here right now!"

Anna scrambled up as her arm wrapped around her stomach, trying to mitigate the pain she was feeling. She wiped the blood from the corner of her lips as she turned around, about to leave. However, Vincent Lu called out her name, which would change her life forever.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

I returned to New York with a broken suitcase and exactly three hundred and forty-two dollars in my bank account. My mother was dying in a public hospital, and the only treatment that could save her required a fifty-thousand-dollar deposit I didn't have. While I was pleading with the billing department, I ran into my billionaire ex, Gannon Sharpe, and his cruel fiancée, Aleta. Without a second thought, Aleta slapped me so hard my lip split, kicking my belongings across the floor and calling me a gold-digging thief in front of the entire staff. I looked at Gannon, the man I once loved more than my own life, hoping for a shred of mercy. Instead, he looked at me with pure revulsion and told me I belonged in the gutter. He believed the lies his grandfather told him—that I had abandoned him after his car crash and vanished with millions. He had no idea I was the one who actually pulled him from that burning wreckage, or that I was currently skipping meals in a moldy motel just so our secret son could have formula. He called me "disgusting" and walked away, leaving me to rot. I wanted to scream that I was the genius scientist who wrote his company’s core algorithms, and that the child he didn’t know existed was shivering with a fever only blocks away. But the ironclad NDA I signed to save my family kept me silent, even as Gannon looked at me like I was something he’d stepped in. Desperate for health insurance to save my mother and son, I took a bottom-tier data entry job in the basement of Gannon’s own tower, intending to stay invisible. But when a billion-dollar error threatened to bankrupt his empire, I couldn't stop myself from hacking the system to fix the code. Now, the man who hates me is standing in my cubicle, demanding to know how a "dropout" knows his most guarded secrets. Gannon is finally digging into my past, and he’s about to find out exactly what—and who—I’ve been hiding for the last four years.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

For two years, I was the invisible force behind tech billionaire Kieran Douglas, convinced that our "private" romance was his way of protecting us from the tabloid spotlight. I managed his mergers, warmed his bed, and waited for a future that didn't exist. The illusion shattered at 6:00 AM when a Page Six alert debuted Kieran’s "real" romance with socialite Aspen Schneider. Before I could even process the betrayal, Kieran sent me a cold, professional text: "Order flowers for Aspen. Pink peonies. Her favorite." When I tried to walk away, my own mother called me a disgrace and threatened to lock my inheritance forever unless I married a sixty-year-old businessman to save her failing estate. At a high-society gala that same night, Aspen intentionally crushed my burned hand in front of the cameras, while Kieran stood by and dismissed me as a "mediocre assistant" who had overstayed her welcome. I stood in the cold New York rain, drenched in champagne and humiliation, realizing that every sacrifice I made for Kieran was a joke. I was a ghost in a penthouse that was never mine, discarded the moment his "soulmate" returned. To the world, I was just a placeholder whose time had run out. But Kieran forgot one thing: my father’s multi-million dollar trust fund unlocks the moment I legally marry. I didn't need love; I needed a signature and a shield. I walked into a discreet law firm and signed a marriage contract with a man I believed was the city’s most notorious, scandal-ridden playboy. I thought I was marrying a degenerate "beard" to buy my freedom and secure my revenge. I didn't realize the man who signed that paper wasn't a playboy at all, but Gaston Collins—the most powerful and dangerous man on Wall Street—and he had no intention of letting our fake marriage stay fake.
