Fatal Attraction: Hunger For Your Love And Affection Chapter 1 Strange And Dangerous

"Wendy, it's your turn. Are you brave enough to try something exciting?" Jackson Liu nudged her as he sat beside her.

Upon hearing this, Wendy Gu curled her lips and said in her enchanting but cold voice, "What do you mean?"

"Look at the door," Jackson answered as he pointed at the entrance of the bar. "Soon, the guests will come flooding in. The rule of the game is that starting now, when the first man comes in, you have to unbutton his shirt. If you manage to do that, I'll drink this whole bottle of liquor. But if you can't do it, you're the one who has to drink!"

"How many buttons do I have to remove?" The others with them were so excited that they started whistling and shouting.

"At least three!"

Intuitively, Wendy was about to refuse. Jackson had expected this reaction from her, so before she could, he added, "Wendy, do you care that much about your fiance that you wouldn't even dare to play the game?"

Did Wendy really care about her fiance?

No, she didn't even love him. Why would she care?

But even if they didn't love each other, they were still engaged.

Jackson's bold proposal left people on the edge of their seats. However, Wendy wasn't one to easily admit defeat. After calming her nerves, she flashed a grin. "Okay. Watch and learn!"

At that moment, everyone was in high spirits.

Slowly, Wendy stood up and walked towards the door.

She was a tall woman with an elegant air. She was pure, sweet, and had just the right amount of coldness that made her uniquely impressive.

When someone came in, the dim light flickered.

The person had a strong, masculine figure. His sexy lips were pursed, he had a great body, and he had an air of mystery and nobility about him.

"Sir."

Upon calming down, Wendy halted him.

The man raised his eyebrows and looked at her. His eyes were as deep as the bottomless ocean.

"Those buttons on your shirt are particularly chic. May I take a closer look at them?" This man was wearing a dark suit, and even his shirt was dark in color, his overwhelming aura quietly permeating throughout the whole room.

It looked like he was not an ordinary man; but a dangerous one.

Although she had some difficulties talking at first, she still managed to speak.

With his eyebrows still raised and lips quivering, it appeared as though this request caught him off guard. However, it piqued his curiosity, so he walked up to her.

Every step he got closer made Wendy's heart beat faster for no apparent reason. The temperature around her lowered drastically, and she smelled the faint scent of tobacco from the man.

At last, the man stopped one pace away from Wendy.

"How do you want to see them?" the man asked flatly.

Subconsciously, Wendy looked at his chest. "Unbutton your shirt."

His eyes narrowed when he heard her.

The next second, he held Wendy in his arms. The pleasant smell of musk pervaded, and her body suddenly trembled, because the man had placed her hand on his chest. His masculine breath engulfed her, and it felt strange and dangerous.

"Let me go!" Reflexively, she tried to push him away.

"Weren't you the one who asked for it?" His breath seeped into her skin, like gusts of wind blowing across water. It felt cold and malicious, but it somehow felt elegant. "So, now that you're scared, you changed your mind, huh?"

"Of course not," Wendy denied as her heart was beating like a snare drum. He took her hand and placed it on the buttons of his shirt. For a second, her fingers touched his skin, and it made her tremble.

"It seems that you're not as open as you appear to be. You're still young and inexperienced, girl." There was a hint of taunting in his low voice. It wasn't a frivolous voice, but it was steady, calm, and deep.

Enveloped by his warmth, Wendy felt the powerful beating of his heart.

She subconsciously moved away from the man's warm breath and quickly unbuttoned three buttons from his shirt. "Thanks."

When she finally breathed a sigh of relief and was about to walk away, he stopped her.

Stunned, Wendy stared into the man's deep and dark eyes with confusion.

Alex Mu gazed at the woman in his arms. There was a faint fragrance coming from her body. It was so amazing that it deeply turned him on. He leaned closer to her ear and whispered, "Since I've helped you, how will you reward me?"

"What?"

"Do you want to be my woman?"

Wendy's eyes widened at once.

In that moment, she became more certain that this man was as dangerous as a jaguar.

Upon seeing her panic, his eyes dimmed as he looked down.

Before long, someone respectfully approached the man. "Mr. Alex, they're waiting for you upstairs. Would you like to go upstairs now?"

Hearing this, the man raised his eyebrows and released his grip on Wendy. "We'll meet again, trust me!"

Afterwards, he walked away before Wendy had the chance to react.

Would they really meet again?

That man sounded so certain, and he had a triumphant tone, which made people think that he was so... mysterious!

Wendy watched him as he went upstairs. The features of his face were defined, his eyes were deep, and he had a strong aura that easily attracted other people's attention. His high nose looked like a work of art, and his thin lips were beautiful. It seemed that he had some sort of power that nobody would dare to desecrate!

On her fingertips, she could still feel his warmth. She snorted coldly and went back to the bar counter, tossing aside what the man had just declared.

The game of Truth or Dare continued. It was a lively party because it was a gathering between classmates before they went their separate ways, so everyone was drinking alcohol.

A few glasses of wine was enough to make Wendy tipsy.

There was no bathroom on the first floor, so she staggered her way to the second floor. Her eyes had gone blurry as she pushed open the door of one VIP room.

All of a sudden, the people in the room stared at her, knowing that she was an "uninvited guest". The man in the middle squinted when he saw Wendy.

His strong arms were resting on the sofa as he looked nonchalantly. His tall body had an air of nobility and mystery, and his eyes that resembled an eagle's were astonishing. He waved his hand, and at once, everyone left the room.

When Wendy rubbed her eyes and blinked several times, she realized that she had gone to the wrong place.

The man's husky voice reached her ears then, and it sounded particularly enticing.

"Are you here for me?"

I was at my own engagement party at the Sterling estate when the world started tilting. Victoria Sterling, my future mother-in-law, smiled coldly as she watched me struggle with a cup of tea that had been drugged to ruin me. Before I could find my fiancé, Ryan, a waiter dragged me into the forbidden West Wing and locked me in a room with Julian Sterling, the family’s "fallen titan" who had been confined to a wheelchair for years. The door burst open to a frenzy of camera flashes and theatrical screams. Victoria framed me as a seductress caught in the act, and Ryan didn't even try to listen to my pleas, calling me "cheap leftovers" before walking away with his pregnant mistress. When I turned to my own family for help, my father signed a document severing our relationship for a five-million-dollar payout from Julian. They traded me like a commodity without a second thought. I didn't understand why my own parents were so eager to sell me, or how Ryan could look at me with such disgust after promising me forever. I was a sacrifice, a pawn used to protect the family's offshore accounts, and I couldn't fathom how every person I loved had a price tag for my destruction. With nowhere left to go, I married Julian in a bleak ceremony at City Hall. He slid a heavy diamond onto my finger and whispered, "We have a war to start." That night, inside his secret penthouse, I watched the paralyzed man stand up from his wheelchair and activate a screen filled with the Sterling family's darkest secrets. The execution had officially begun.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.
