Everyone wants to be me. Who wouldn't? I've got the looks, sexy body, money and Andrew Maru Ottave, my husband. But if they will only knew who I really am and what's happening in my life, I doubt that they want to be in my place. Since I was a child, I don't have a right to choose the person I want to be with, because my parents already arranged it for me. Its not actually a new thing with the elite. Because even my parents is a product of an arrange marriage. They marry for business and have a child for business. And just like my mom I will just also be a business wife.

Business Wife Chapter 1 Made out of business

"I'm sorry Alex, but we are not possible." I said coldly to the person in-front of me.

Alexander Monte, one of the hottest guy in our campus. Many girls are dreaming to be his girlfriend, but not me.

It's not because I don't like him nor I don't love him, its just that I don't have the right to love because I only exist for my family's business.

Alex is a good guy and a good friend. But I can't lead him on. I don't have a heart to love.

I want him to stay with me as my friend, but because of what he did, I need to stay away from him.

I'm actually pissed because of what he did, I lose a friend AGAIN. I make it clear to all of them that they can't like me because I can't. How many times do I have to keep telling them for them to understand that THEY CAN'T LIKE ME?!

"Mara why can't I love you?" He said. Sadness is visible on his voice.

"You know why." I said almost a whisper.

"But Mara I'm freaking rich! If you are telling me that you only exist because of business... then so be it. My family's business is a good asset to your family business. So I don't understand why we can't be together!" He said almost pissed.

I just look at him with no emotion and said "My family has already chosen the guy that I will marry. And it's not you."

His forehead furrowed. "Who is he?" He whispered.

"Maru."

I saw his defeated expression. Just hearing Maru's name he knew that he has no way to win.

"Sorry Alex." I said before walking away from him.

When I reached home, I went straight to my room and lie down on my bed.

I close my eyes and I just let my tears to flow.

How many friends do I need to lose?! Why do they keep on liking me and break the rule?!

What I did with Alex is not easy.

As I said, Alex is a good friend, he's actually one of my closest friends. I really want him to stay but unfortunately I can't.

I was 10 years old when I understand my purpose.

My Dad married my Mom for business. There is no love in them. I am not made out of love, but out of obligation and business.

I was also in the same age when I knew who will be my husband.

He is Andrew Maru Ottave.

What a great choice! Maru's family is the richest family in the Philippines, they belong in the top 10 richest people in the world.

Maru and I knew our future.

But we never became friends nor lovers.

Both of us give no effort to know each other, nor tried to be friends at least.

We saw each other in school, but we never approach one another, even just to say hi or hello.

Even when we meet in some events, we never approach one another.

Just like Alex, Maru is also known in school. He's actually the hottest guy in our campus.

We both knew our destiny. I chose not to commit in a relationship because I don't want to hurt someone because I knew that I can't fight for it.

But unlike me, Maru choose to be in a relationship.

As what I've heard, Maru has been with Jana, his girlfriend for years, and he seems serious with him.

I just shake my head at that thought. What will happen to them when we get married?

That's exactly the reason why I'm avoiding commitments. I don't like complication, because we both knew that we can't do anything about it.

Our life is not like a drama in television. Because we knew that even if we tried to fight for it, it's impossible for us to win against our parents.

They will just make the people we love live in hell. And in the end we will just give in to them and accept defeat.

There is only one thing I allowed my self to love. And that is business where I am made for.

The heavy thud of the release stamp was the only goodbye I got from the warden after five years in federal prison. I stepped out into the blinding sun, expecting the same flash of paparazzi bulbs that had seen me dragged away in handcuffs, but there was only a single black limousine idling on the shoulder of the road. Inside sat my mother and sister, clutching champagne and looking at my frayed coat with pure disgust. They didn't offer a welcome home; instead, they tossed a thick legal document onto the table and told me I was dead to the city. "Gavin and I are getting engaged," my sister Mia sneered, flicking a credit card at me like I was a stray dog. "He doesn't need a convict ex-fiancée hanging around." Even after I saved their lives from an armed kidnapping attempt by ramming the attackers off the road, they rewarded me by leaving me stranded in the dirt. When I finally ran into Gavin, the man who had framed me, he pinned me against a wall and threatened to send me back to a cell if I ever dared to show my face at their wedding. They had stolen my biotech research, ruined my name, and let me rot for half a decade while they lived off my brilliance. They thought they had broken me, leaving me with nothing but an expired chapstick and a few old photos in a plastic bag. What they didn't know was that I had spent those five years becoming "Dr. X," a shadow consultant with five hundred million dollars in crypto and a secret that would bring the city to its knees. I wasn't just a victim anymore; I was a weapon, and I was pregnant with the heir they thought they had erased. I walked into the Melton estate and made an offer to the most powerful man in New York. "I'll save your grandfather's life," I told Horatio Melton, staring him down. "But the price is your last name. I'm taking back what's mine, and I'm starting with the man who thinks he's marrying my sister."

"We're friends," I said, voice barely steady. Aaron's lips curled, slow and cruel. "No, we're not." "Friendship's too pure for this." His hand slid to my waist, hot and claiming as he yanked me flush against him. "Do friends kiss like this?" He kissed me. Hard. Possessive. "Or grab each other like this?" A squeeze to my ass. A gasp. "Or think filthy little thoughts?" His breath burned against my ear. "Touch themselves to it?" My cheeks flamed. My body betrayed me. "Stop lying, Venus." His voice was a growl. "I feel it. Every time I'm near you." I whispered, "But you don't even like me." His smile was pure sin. "I don't have to like you to fuck you." Then the offer: "Let's get it out of our system. No lies. No strings. Just truth." He grabbed my chin, eyes lit with hunger. "Say the word, princess." A whisper against my lips- "I'll ruin you." And God help me... I wanted him to. --------- Aaron Sinclair needs a bride to claim his inheritance. Venus Carter needs a miracle to save her dying mother. What begins as a cold contract marriage spirals into a dangerous game of buried trauma, stolen identities, and forbidden attachment. He's ruthless, closed off, and refuses to love. She's resilient, lost, and refuses to stay unloved. But when secrets unravel revealing a stolen childhood, a tragic past, and a vengeful stepmother, their fake marriage is the only thing standing between them and destruction. In a world ruled by power and silence, will love dare to speak first or break them both instead?

I arrived at my uncle’s mansion looking like human trash, clutching a one-way bus ticket and a duffel bag stuffed with old newspaper. My aunt looked at me with pure disgust, as if she could smell the poverty on my skin, but they needed me for one thing: to be a sacrificial lamb. They told me I was getting married to Julian Sterling, a man the elite circles called a violent monster locked in a cage. My uncle forced me to sign away my soul to save their failing fortune, while my cousin Kayla laughed and threw a torn dress at my feet, calling me a "rat from the Rust Belt." At the Sterling estate, the nightmare only deepened. Julian’s stepmother treated me like a horse she was forced to buy, ordering the staff to "burn off" my hair before locking me in the West Wing. I was thrown into a padded cell with a man who lunged at me, his heavy chains rattling against the floor as he roared with an animalistic rage that had already killed two nurses. They thought I was a pathetic, uneducated girl who "didn't read so good." They didn't know I had extorted two million dollars from my uncle before walking out the door, or that I was secretly recording every slap and insult they threw at me for future leverage. I huddled in the corner of that dark cell, letting them watch me tremble on the security feeds. I let Julian’s sister strike me with a riding crop and splash water in my face, playing the role of the clumsy, sobbing idiot to perfection. But the moment the cameras looped, the scared girl vanished. I pinned the "monster" to the floor, cut the neural tracking chip out of his neck with a hidden scalpel, and whispered into his ear as his blue eyes finally cleared. They thought they were sending a lamb to the slaughter. They had no idea they were sending a wolf to hunt a beast.
