Gina didn't expect that a traffic accident would drag her down into big trouble. When the police came to her, she was taken away as the culprit of a hit-and-run. What was waiting for her was the sky-high compensation. After she processed everything and was ready to explain herself, she met the accuser, Sammy. She swallowed the speech to defend herself and said yes to his claim. "Can I pay it in installments?" "I don't think it's a good deal, Gina. You know well what I want."

Hard To Get My Wife's Love Chapter 1 Doomed Love

Darkness fell. Inside a bedroom, Gina Gu was forcefully being pressed onto a bed by a man whose eyes burned with a hungry passion.

Struggling to break free, she averted her gaze as the man leaned in to breathe on her neck.

Goose bumps formed all over her body and she trembled slightly. Mustering up the courage, she looked up to glare at the man, but his outline was barely discernible in the darkness.

"No... Sammy..."

But before she could finish her sentence, she suddenly felt a sharp pain between her legs.

The following morning, Gina woke up to the sun streaming in through the curtains.

However, the second she tried to move, a sharp pain shot up her body.

Groaning slightly, as her eyes adjusted to the light, she saw clothes scattered all over the floor. So, she wasn't dreaming; something actually happened last night.

Glancing at her side, she found a man lying next to her in bed, still deep in sleep.

With his chiseled features, toned muscles, and the nose of a Greek god, he was just perfect!

Despite what he did last night, she found herself still very deeply in love with him.

But she was never going to admit that to him, especially since Sammy hated her so much.

Without a word, Gina got out of bed, picked up her clothes, and tried to put them on as quickly and quietly as possible. But with every movement, she felt shooting pain from between her legs. Gritting her teeth, she struggled to get dressed and then snuck out of the room.

Six years later.

"The green grassland is as green as watermelon rind; your brain is full of wisdom, just like a post office full of letters. Thank you for listening. I'm your good friend Gina. See you at 22:22 tomorrow night. Good night."

After finishing the closing remark of her radio show, Gina took off the headphones. She rubbed her stiff neck tiredly and walked out of the broadcasting studio.

"Have you heard? We're having an interview with a very prominent figure today! That's right, we're interviewing Sammy Shen-the heir of the Shen family of J City. I'm sure all the ladies in town will be very eager to hear what he has to say. Oh, wait, he's engaged. Never mind. Anyway, I can't wait to see if he's as handsome as they say!"

Outside the break room, Gina stood in the corridor with an empty cup in her hand. She overheard everything.

"Gina, what're you still doing here? Aren't you off duty now? Why haven't you gone home yet?" a colleague asked.

Gina looked up and smiled slightly. "I'm about to leave. My child's waiting for me!"

Just then, a tall figure caught her eye. Her heart began to race and her palms grew sweaty.

Under the light of the glittering crystal lamps overhead, the man's angular face looked even more handsome and attractive. His black suit and leather shoes fit him like a glove, emphasizing his noble air. His dark eyes looked broody and mysterious, adding to his allure.

After six years, he seemed to have become even more mature and handsome.

"Mr. Shen, this way please!"

Led by the staff of the broadcasting station, Sammy walked right past Gina, towards the studio which was reserved for the interview.

Just then, Gina's cellphone began to ring, snapping her out of her trance. Glancing at her phone, her gaze softened at the caller ID.

She answered the call with a bright smile. "Hi, Glen!"

Meanwhile, Sammy's own phone kept buzzing. Pursing his lips tightly, he said to the person standing behind him, "Sorry, but something just came up. I have to go. Can we reschedule the interview?"

"Mr. Shen!"

Gina glanced up from her phone just in time to see her colleague, who had led Sammy into the studio just moments earlier, scurrying away. She scratched her brow with curiosity but decided to shrug it off. Returning to her call as she walked out of the building, she asked, "Glen, what're you doing?"

"I'm waiting for you to come back." Glen Gu yawned. "Mommy, did you eat dinner already?"

"Yes, I did. I will be back soon."

Gina smiled at her son's face on her phone screen, not noticing the car in front of hers.

Sammy was sitting in the back seat of his car and talking on the phone when the car suddenly lurched and he was thrown forward abruptly.

The phone flew out of his hand. Disgruntled, he asked the driver, "What happened? Go and check what's going on."

As soon as he finished his words, he saw a woman stepping out of the Beetle that rammed into his car.

She smiled apologetically and started to say, "Sorry, I..."

Gina never expected that, of all the people she would crash into, it would be Sammy. She was embarrassed beyond words and her voice trailed off. Could this be destiny? Or was this just another reason for her smoldering love for him to flare up again?

Snapping back to reality, she stuttered, "Sorry, I just got back from abroad. I'm just not used to drive on the right. Besides, it's kind of dark here. I didn't see your car..." Gina tried to act as though she had never met Sammy before.

"Gina Gu!"

Sammy's cold voice rang out.

Gina's heart was banging against her chest. She willed herself to calm down, but her heart was so stubborn!

She never thought Sammy would recognize her, let alone call her by her name.

His voice was as attractive as it was six years ago.

"Mr. Shen."

I lived as the "scarred ghost" of the Stephens penthouse, a wife kept in the shadows because my facial burns offended my billionaire husband’s aesthetic. For years, I endured Kason’s coldness and my family's abuse, a submissive puppet who believed she had nowhere else to go. The end came with a blue folder tossed onto my silk sheets. Kason’s mistress was back, and he wanted me out by sunset, offering a five-million-dollar "silence fee" to go hide my face in the countryside. The betrayal cut deep when I discovered my father had already traded my divorce for a corporate bailout. My step-sister mocked my "trashy" appearance at a high-end boutique, while the sales staff treated me like a common thief. At home, my father threatened to cut off my mother's life-saving medicine unless I crawled back to Kason to beg for a better deal. I was the girl who took the blame for a fire she didn't start, the wife who worshipped a man who never looked her in the eye, and the daughter used as a human bargaining chip. I was supposed to be broken, penniless, and desperate. But the woman who stood up wasn't the weak Elease Finch anymore; she was Phoenix, a tactical predator with a $500 million secret. I signed the divorce papers without a single tear, walked past my stunned husband, and wiped the Finch family's bank accounts clean with a few taps on my phone. "Your money is dirty," I told Kason with a cold smile. "I prefer clean hands." The cage is open, the hunt has begun, and I’m starting with the people who thought a scar made me weak.

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.

I woke up in a blindingly white hotel penthouse with a throbbing headache and the taste of betrayal in my mouth. The last thing I remembered was my stepsister, Cathie, handing me a flute of champagne at the charity gala with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. Now, a tall, dangerously handsome man walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his hips. On the nightstand sat a stack of hundred-dollar bills. My stepmother had finally done it—she drugged me and staged a scandal with a hired escort to destroy my reputation and my future. "Aisha! Is it true you spent the night with a gigolo?" The shouts of a dozen reporters echoed through the heavy oak door as camera flashes exploded through the peephole. My phone lit up with messages showing my bank accounts were already frozen. My father was invoking the 'morality clause' in my mother’s trust fund, and my fiancé had already released a statement dumping me to marry my stepsister instead. I was trapped, penniless, and being hunted by the press for a scandal I hadn't even participated in. My own family had sold me out for a payday, and the man standing in front of me was the only witness who could prove I was innocent—or finish me off for good. I didn't have time to cry. According to the fine print of the trust, I had thirty days to prove my "rehabilitation" through a legal marriage or I would lose everything. I tracked the man down to a coffee shop the next morning, watching him take a thick envelope of cash from a wealthy older woman. I sat across from him and slid a napkin with a $50,000 figure written on it. "I need a husband. Legal, paper-signed, and convincing." He looked at the number, then at me, a slow, crooked smile spreading across his face. I thought I was hiring a desperate gigolo to save my inheritance. I had no idea I was actually proposing to Dominic Fields, the reclusive billionaire shark who was currently planning a hostile takeover of my father’s entire empire.
