Chapter 1 1

Kimberly Medilton

If you have an option to pick 'Love someone' or 'Being love by someone'?

Well I pick 'Being love by someone' because if you pick 'Love someone' it will take you a lot of effort to get that person's attention. You will get hurt a lot along the way and there's 99% that the person that you like won't like you back for girls case not boys

Well I've been completely in love with a guy named Ethan Vecton. He's the second son of Maxwell Vecton. Ethan Vecton is a complete opposite of me. He's a smart ass , handsome , basketball player and lastly a playboy. He never stays with one girl more than a week. That's how crazy he is with girls and he only like beautiful and hot girls

I liked Ethan since my freshmen days and it was love at first sight for me. It's almost 3 years since I'm a senior now. I still have 1 year left before leaving Seattle to go to London for university.

My love for Ethan is always a one way thing, he never looked at me. All he did was humilliated me in public and called me ugly, stupid and etc. I mean I'm not smart, not beautiful and a potato

I knew that I chose to be loved by someone but no one ever loved me. People were too busy judging people by their looks not by their heart.

"Hey Ethan, you left this." I gave him his jacket and smiled sweetly. He looked at me in disgust and left without taking his jacket

"It's yours." I followed him and he glared at me.

"Get lost you beggar." He said coldly and walked away. I looked at the jacket and walked back to my locker.

People in this school always called me a beggar, ugly, caliban and stupid but I'm used to it. I know I looked like crap when I went to school because when I was a freshman, my skin broke out really badly. I had to stop wearing makeup for a moment and I kinda liked when I'm not wearing makeup. It felt so light so I continue it

I'm not beautiful, people always say that I'm pale and I have panda eyes. I looked like a Caliban from the marvel series. I'm stupid and that's so right because I don't have a good grades no matter how hard I try to study. I'm a beggar because I wore a hoodie and training pants because I've been using my shopping money to buy a lot of tools for my drawing.

People always looked at you from your outer appearance and just judged you right away.

Let's be honest here , I'm the last child of Dave Medilton. My dad is one of the richest billionaires in America. Since I'm the last child and my grandparents love me so much. They wanted to raise me so I live with them since I was 12 in Seattle while my brothers and sister were all in New York.

My grandparents always teached me to be humble, be kind and just be ordinary. They teached me to manage money and just basic things. I'm glad that I live with my grandparents because I learn a lot of things in life.

"Kim?" I turned to see Joy, my one and only best friend, looking at me weirdly.

"Huh?"

"Why are you looking at that jacket stupidly?" She asked.

"It's Ethan's" I said and she took it away from me. She walked to the trash can and I stopped her quickly.

"No" I begged and she looked at me disbelief.

"He put a lot of oil in front of your locker this morning. You slipped big time and bruised. Why do you still like this guy?" She bursted out and threw the jacket to the trash can. I gasped and wanted to grab it but Joy pulled me away to class.

My eyes met Ethan's as soon as I got into Math class. He sat at the back while I sat at the front. I had no choice, I sucked at Math. Not only Math but almost every subject except Art class.

I love to draw. Sketches to be exact and after highschool's done. I'm going to take Architect as my major in college.

"Ms. Medilton , you see me after this and you too Mr. Vecton" The whole class teased us but they got a big glare from Ethan right away. I turned to Ethan and he already gave me a middle finger. I turned back to Mr. Qonto and he started to teach

After that Math class, we waited until all of the students walked out. I walked to Mr. Qonto's desk and he gestured to Ethan to come to the front. I glanced at him for a split second when he stood beside me

"You know you're failing in Math right Kimberly?" Mr. Qonto asked and I nodded weakly

"I don't want it, sir." Ethan said immediately and I turned to him confused.

"Want what?" I asked innocently..

"You have too" Mr. Qonto turned to him and gave him a warning.

"Ethan here will tutor you for Math and Biology" What?!

"Math and Biology? Sir you're a Math tea-"

"Shut it Ethan. I got a message from Mrs. Paulo to get her a tutor and since you're one of the top 5 here in school so we trust you to tutor her." Mr. Qonto said and I liked that idea but if Ethan hates it. I will back out.

"I don't want it Mr. Qonto. She's stupid and a slow learner. Who would want to tutor her?" Ethan said in a really cold tone and looked at me in disgust.

"Sir, I'll just get a tutor from Manuel," I said and Manuel was the 1st rank in my school. He's crazily smart.

"He can't, he and Jaero are preparing for their science competition soon" Mr. Qonto said.

"He doesn't want it, sir, don't force him. We can find someone else right?" I asked nicely to Mr. Qonto.

"See sir."

"No excuse Ethan. I want you to tutor her or you will be cut from the basketball team" Mr. Qonto said seriously.

"Sir I'm the team captain. You can't cut me becau-"

"I don't care" Suddenly coach Tian walked in

"Coach!" Ethan said panickly.

"Tutor her Ethan" Coach said.

"No no , don't force him please" I begged. Mr. Qonto and the coach glared at me

"How long?" Ethan asked and my eyes widened.

"4 months." Mr. Qonto said.

"4 fucking months?" Ethan asked in horror.

"Yes 4 fucking months Ethan. I will be watching you so if you dare not to tutor her. I'll cut you right away" Coach said coldly glaring at Ethan.

"Understand? 3 times a week okay?" Mr. Qonto took his book and marker and he walked out from the class with the coach.

I'm left with Ethan and his wrath.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

For seventeen years, I was the pride of the Carlisle family, the perfect daughter destined to inherit an empire. But that life ended the moment a DNA report slid across my father’s mahogany desk. The paper proved I was a stranger. Vanessa, the girl sobbing in the corner, was the real biological daughter they had been searching for. "You need to leave. Tonight. Before the press gets wind of this. Before the stock prices dip." My father’s voice was as cold as flint. My mother wouldn't even look at me, staring out the window at the gardens as if I were already a ghost. Just like that, I was erased. I left behind the Birkin bags and the diamonds, throwing my Centurion Card into a crystal bowl with a clatter that echoed like a gunshot. I walked out into the cold night and climbed into a rusted Ford Taurus driven by a man I had never met—my biological father. I went from a mansion to a fourth-floor walk-up in Queens that smelled of laundry detergent and struggle. My new siblings looked at me with a mix of fear and disgust, waiting for the "fallen princess" to break. They expected me to beg for my old life back, to crumble without the luxury I’d known since birth. But they didn't know the truth. I had spent years training in a shark tank, honing survival skills they couldn't imagine. While Richard Carlisle froze my trust funds to starve me out, my net worth was climbing by millions on an encrypted trading app. They thought they were throwing me to the wolves. They didn't realize they were just letting me off my leash. As the Carlisles prepared to debut Vanessa at the Manhattan Arts Gala, I was already making my move. "Get dressed. We're going to a party."
