He Was My Crush Chapter 1 What's up with him

Sylvia's P. O. V

Class was going on and everyone seemed to be paying attention to what the teacher was saying. Well... Everyone except me. It was much better to sit down, all starry eyed and daydream about him.

Him?

Who's him? Alex Jones, the only guy who could put most Hollywood celebrities to shame with just handsome looks. It's hard sometimes to think he's just an highschool sophomore. That dude belongs on the runway. Although he wasn't in school today, I was quite content staring at his empty seat, hands on my chin, giggling to myself as I daydreamt about him being my boyfriend.

Out of the blue, an idea popped into my head and I brought out my special notepad, tearing a piece out and began writing a love letter, with hopes delivering it to his locker later in the day. Something I've tried to do in the past but it always proved unsuccessful.

With a dreamy smile plastered to my face, I filled the paper up and made to write his name when it got swiped from underneath me.

" And what are you doing?" A voice asked, sending chills down my spine. My eyes shot up and I gasped, widening my eyes. Oh no.

" Oh.... It's a love letter!" Tasha announced and the entire class turned to my direction. All the color drained from my face and I bit my lips so badly it could've bled, my heartbeat racing.

"N-no it's not." I stuttered.

" Really? Who it's for? "

" N-no one? " I muttered, hoping I sounded convincing. Tasha raised her brows before snickering. I was holding my pen very tightly, my knuckles were showing.

" And who would believe you?" She asked no one in particular, then walked closer to me till I could almost smell her bubble gum breath on me.

" You had better tell me who owns it or I'm going to read it for the entire class to hear! " She threatened and I widened my eyes in fear. There's no way I'm saying this letter is for Alex Jones, the most handsome and popular guy in Rocksville who is also her boyfriend! That's like me signing for a death sentence!

I looked around till I spotted someone who seemed uninterested with what was going on around him. His head bowed and focused on the book he was reading, he looked out of place in this room. I don't even think I've seen him before.

" It's for him!" I announced and everyone gasped, he too raised his head from the book he was reading. Tasha had the look of confusion on her face.

" This letter.... Is for him?" She asked and I quickly nodded.

" Do I believe you? No." She said and made to read the contents of the letter. I panicked and snatched the letter from her.

" Please believe me... It's really for him."

" Well then, prove it! " She ordered. I stood up from my feet and hurried to his side, placing the letter on his table. He looked at me, then at the paper and tried passing it back to me but I quickly stopped him, my eyes pleading. Eventually he gave up and for added effect, gave him a quick kiss. Another gasp erupted from the class and he stared at me gobsmacked. Tasha glared at me, disappointed at the fact that she wouldn't be able to humiliate me any further. She gave me an ' i'll get you look' before sashaying back to her seat which was closest to Alex. I let out a sigh before dragging myself to mine and gently lowering myself into it.

Phew! That was close.

It was break and I hurried out of class before Tasha and her gang had the chance to pick on me again. Getting to my locker, I quickly placed my books in it and locked it securely. I was really hungry but I didn't feel like going to the cafeteria just yet. I wanted to find the guy who helped me earlier, probably to thank him and to tell him what happened earlier wasn't meant for him. He should be in the cafeteria, I guessed and went in that direction.

A few glances at the cafeteria and I noticed he wasn't there. This is weird, where could he be? I left the place and began searching the entire school. Eventually I found him at the library, staring out the window, probably lost in thought. I gulped and brushing my bangs away from my face, threading softly to his side.

I cleared my throat. " Uhmm... Hi." I greeted. Turning away from the window, his gaze settled on me. At first he seemed confused but realisation soon dawned on his face.

" Hey." He replied almost inaudibly and looked away again. I took in a deep breath and continued.

" Sorry for interrupting you." I said, shuffling my feet. " I just wanted to say I'm..."

" Nevermind." He muttered, cutting me off. What? Guessing he must've misunderstood me, I tried explaining myself again.

" N-no, it's not what you think. I actually want to..."

" I said, nevermind." He repeated, his voice louder this time. I didn't know what to say a few seconds so I just kept staring at him.

Eventually he let out a sigh and stepped away from the window. Sparing me glance, he made to say something but eventually stopped and walked away, leaving me there. I watched him go.

This guy though.... What's up with him??

I arrived at the hotel with Julian's favorite takeout, ready to surprise my fiancé before our big merger. But the moment I swiped the keycard, the silence of the hallway felt heavy and wrong. Inside, a red-soled stiletto lay on the marble floor-the same one I'd watched my best friend Lila try on at Saks last week. Through the cracked bedroom door, I watched Julian's back arch as Lila looked me straight in the eye and smiled, wrapping her legs tighter around him to mock my heartbreak. I fled to the penthouse to hide, only to find Grafton, Julian's "crippled" brother, waiting in the dark. To my horror, the man who was supposed to be paralyzed stood up from his wheelchair, gripped my chin with cold fingers, and forced me to sign a contract that gave him control of my family's shares. He knew about my mother's secret medical bills and used them to buy my silence, effectively turning my life into a calculated game of corporate chess. The betrayal tasted like acid, and the injustice of it all burned in my throat. My fiancé was a liar, my best friend was a thief, and the man now controlling my fate was a predator who had been faking his disability for years. I couldn't understand how everyone I trusted had turned out to be a monster. I was trapped between a man who cheated on me and a man who wanted to own me, with no way out and no one to turn to. But when Julian came looking for me, Grafton didn't hide; he stood tall, looming over me with a possessive glint in his eyes. "Help me destroy Julian," I rasped, realizing that to survive the Faulkner men, I had to become the most dangerous player of them all.

He Thought I Was A Doormat, Until I Ruined Him

SHANA GRAY

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.
