Roya's POV :

My father has arranged my marriage.

I don't get why he's rushing such a serious matter. I mean I've never even met my future husband, I've only seen his picture, and he's handsome. Likewise, I mean hot, Like fire. Furthermore, I've never been in a relationship,, so I don't really have a problem with an arranged marriage.

But maybe, just maybe, it's a little too early?

Maybe my father is just worried about my stepmother. She's never liked me because my father loves me the most. I mean, I am his first child after all, from his first wife. My mom died when I was 3. My mom's black and my father's white, they fell in love and got married, and then they had me. Whenever my father talks about her, he reminds me that he will always love her the most. He told me the only reason he married my stepmother was for me, he said I was so young, and I always cried for my mom and things were good with her, back then but when my step-brother was born my stepmom changed. I think that's natural because my father loves me more than him.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to going shopping for my wedding with my best friend Stella, she's beautiful, and she'll help choose my dress with me, then a week later my wedding will be held. I'm happy with my small life, and hopefully I will have my own family soon.

Johnson Robinson POV :

I AM SO STUPID.

I am frustrated with my own actions.

How can I just agree with that man for an arranged marriage?

He made a deal with me that if I marry his daughter, he will give me half of his properties.

Now I have to marry his ugly daughter. FUCK this is awful.

I've dated so many beautiful girls, so many models, actresses and I also fuck them. Now I have to settle down with this ugly girl. I hate myself, really, because my company is losing money and this deal is my only shot to pull myself out of the red. I have to make this deal. I've never even seen or talked to her, I haven't even seen a photo of her.

But he says his daughter is black, so that means she's ugly. I mean, who would give me half of their properties and marry his daughter with the devil? I think she is sick, or maybe she saw me and got a crush on me and now she wants to marry me; and now the dad's girl wants me as her toy. Her dad came all the way here to fulfill her wish. But fuck her! I will never ever become that ugly, nasty little girl toy.

I'll reject her.

It's about my self-respect and my pride. She will remember this, I'll make sure of it.

The wedding will be held in a week, and I'm feeling nervous, How will this girl look? Is she fat? Is she sick? Is she that much ugly, she became burden to her father ? Does she know about the deal?

I keep asking myself these questions. My best friend's helping me get a suit for my wedding. He keeps asking me about her, he doesn't know about the deal. He's the one who's always interested in black women anyways. He's always dated black women, I've only seen him with two white women and that didn't last long. I'm thinking, why didn't Roya's father go to him with that proposal? He will be more than happy with it, and I wouldn't be stuck in this situation.

I just want it to go away. FUCK what am I doing with my life.

I was sitting in the Presidential Suite of The Pierre, wearing a Vera Wang gown worth more than most people earn in a decade. It was supposed to be the wedding of the century, the final move to merge two of Manhattan's most powerful empires. Then my phone buzzed. It was an Instagram Story from my fiancé, Jameson. He was at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris with a caption that read: "Fuck the chains. Chasing freedom." He hadn't just gotten cold feet; he had abandoned me at the altar to run across the world. My father didn't come in to comfort me. He burst through the door roaring about a lost acquisition deal, telling me the Holland Group would strip our family for parts if the ceremony didn't happen by noon. My stepmother wailed about us becoming the laughingstock of the Upper East Side. The Holland PR director even suggested I fake a "panic attack" to make myself look weak and sympathetic to save their stock price. Then Jameson’s sleazy cousin, Pierce, walked in with a lopsided grin, offering to "step in" and marry me just to get his hands on my assets. I looked at them and realized I wasn't a daughter or a bride to anyone in that room. I was a failed asset, a bouncing check, a girl whose own father told her to go to Paris and "beg" the man who had just publicly humiliated her. The girl who wanted to be loved died in that mirror. I realized that if I was going to be sold to save a merger, I was going to sell myself to the one who actually controlled the money. I marched past my parents and walked straight into the VIP holding room. I looked the most powerful man in the room—Jameson’s cold, ruthless uncle, Fletcher Holland—dead in the eye and threw the iPad on the table. "Jameson is gone," I said, my voice as hard as stone. "Marry me instead."

I lay paralyzed on stiff white sheets, a prisoner in my own skin, listening to the rain lash against the window like nails on a coffin. My father, Elmore Franco, didn't even look at my face as he checked his clipboard. He just listened to the steady, monotonous beep of the heart monitor-the only thing proving I was still alive. Without a hint of remorse, he pulled a pen from his pocket and signed the Do Not Resuscitate order. My stepmother, Ophelia, stepped out from behind him, wearing my favorite pearl necklace and smelling of cloying perfume. She leaned close to my ear to whisper the truth that turned my blood to ice. "It was the tea, darling. Just like your mother. A slow, tasteless poison." She chuckled as she revealed that my fiancé, Bryce, had a two-year-old son with my sister, Daniela. My inheritance had been funding their secret life for years, and now that the money was secure, I was an inconvenience they were finally scrubbing away. As my father yanked the power cord from the wall, the beeping died, and the darkness swallowed me whole. I was being murdered by my own flesh and blood, used as a bank account until I was no longer needed. I died in that sterile room, drowning in the realization that every person I ever loved was a monster who had been waiting for me to take my last breath. Then, I gasped. I woke up in a luxury hotel suite surrounded by silk sheets, five years in the past-the very morning of my wedding. Next to me lay Basile Delgado, the "Wolf of Wall Street" and my family's most dangerous enemy. In my first life, I ran from this room in a panic and lost everything. This time, I looked at the man who would eventually destroy my father's empire and decided to join him. "I'm not leaving, Basile. Marry me. Right now. Today."
