Deep Into St Louis Chapter 1 Bullet 1

Bullet 1

..

..

19 August 2041, a record of disappearance of a young man in St. Louis at 8:52 am.

21 August 2041, another record of disappearance of a high-school girl again in St. Louis at 4:05 pm.

25 August 2041, a new record of disappearance of a little child in St. Louis at 11:30 am.

2 September 2041, another odd record of disappearance of a male adult in St. Louis at 10:22 pm.

15 September 2041, many different records of disappearance of many different people in the same area with different times.

The police and FBI of the United States had been puzzled with those weird occasions as they did not find any clues of a serial murder roaming around the peaceful city, in addition to not finding any trace of the disappeared around the city or in the whole country, as if the Earth had split and swallowed them inside its guts. The cases were rather impossible and unrelated, so the investigation showed that these events were probably natural or even not related to a same criminal. Many had suggested that the young man had committed a suicide because he was fired from his job, the girl had ran away with her lover, the child had been probably kidnapped or lost, the adult man had traveled and many other excuses to proof a logical event.

"It is mostly impossible for these cases to be related," stated Baker Johan, an FBI agent "since we all know that the victims are not similar in any trait nor even knowing each other, also the times of the disappearance are different, in addition to vanishing in various points of the city and finally all of them had different reasons to disappear!"

Since crimes occur frequently around the city, the policemen thought that these cases were separated ones, however the FBI teams thought it differently, since that time, all of the bodies were nowhere to be found and those people were unable to contact them or answer their phones. So, they thought it was a strange case and totally not a normal occurrence, and the only mutual concern in all of those casea was the disappearance of all of the people.

"I say that these cases are related, and probably the criminal is messing with us!" replied Williams Emina, the supreme beauty and a genius detective of the FBI "All of these cases have the common mystery, where did those people disappear? If they were killed, where are their bodies located? There is no signal of their devices nor any trace of their shadows, did the criminal hide them in a place we can never expect? Or did he bury their corpses? Or even melting them with acids and chemicals? Or did he build a mansion of cemented above their dead bodies? Or any of inhumane methods to hide a human?"

"You surely have a broad imagination, miss Williams." Claimed Roberts Joseph, a smart agent "If he had buried someone could have noticed, if covered them with cement we can find a new building and search it and if he melted them we might have received a notice that someone sold chemicals or missed some. However, there is no logical interpretation except being alive until now but still disappeared."

"I approve Joseph's interpretation!" assured Nelson Flora, another detective "It is the most logical thought, I mean the girl had a fight with her parents because she slept with a guy, so probably she ran away with him afterwards, the young man was fired from his job and his fiancé had left him after he lost his money source so probably he had committed suicide, the adult one was already aiming to travel outside the country for a vacation so maybe he lost his phone somewhere, and finally the kid was a naughty one maybe he lost his way home and someone found him or he faced an accident.."

"Ok, so we can say that two of them are probably dead," replied Emina "then, where are the bodies? We had searched the young man's house, his neighbors' and the city for many days and found nothing at all, where could he have committed a death sentence?!"

"Are you referring again to the theory that they are killed by the same one?" mocked Wright Moses, a police officer "Because that's ridiculous, please get yourself together and think like the genius Emina. If the bodies were hidden around we might have found them after we scanned the city."

"What if they were hidden outside the city?" suggested Emina

"There is no way," answered Flora "since all of the cases were reported after one to three days of disappearance, so the criminal could not have teleported more than six bodies out of St. Louis without anyone noticing, and if he had took them one after another then it will be surely recorded who were leaving constantly out of the city."

"We have to search more about this subject and check all of the cameras, ask the police around, search every brick of the cities around and notice any abnormal change!"

"I trust your judges, Emina!" stated Lewis Mehmat, a young agent who loved Emina deeply, admired her genius interpretation and respected her as his upperclassman "I believe you will always solve this case as the other ones and surprise us with your genius interpretation, after all you are the Holmes of our age!"

"I believe, too, in senior Williams," committed Johan "but this case is different than the others, it is a bit of illogical so we have to depend on reasonable interpretation more than instincts. But, I will always obey senior Emina's commands."

"It surely is exaggerating, Emina's intelligence," added Joseph "but I believe that she is wrong this time, however I am willing to obey her too."

"I will do as you wish, Emina." Replied Flora "but you will regret it if you were mistaken! I warn you!"

..

..

Emina was considered a propheted genius with remarkable intellectual and creative function, she was not as simple as people call smart or having a high IQ, but a worthy of the genius status, where she had weird traits including over creativity, self-awareness, isolation, and an innate ability to ask questions few others have never asked.

She owned this special trait having an inquisitive nature, where she developed new ways of thinking, interpreting and uncovering previously unexplored ideas, with the deep desire to pursue knowledge in an almost obsessive manner, beyond what the average person may consider reasonable, in order to catch the threads of any abnormal case.

In addition to that, she always tended to think about problems and concepts in a much more dynamic way, so she always disapprove information and facts on face value. Instead, she would want to defy and test conventional thinking of other people. Many colleagues consider talking to her could be tricky and risky, as she might wish to challenge their way of thinking.

Always pushing boundaries and taking risks was one of her oddest traits as she was not ever satisfied taking the safe route, especially if she felt she was about to making an important discovery. She always put her life at risk, whether physically or in regard to the progression of her career, but ultimately that always lead to ground-breaking work.

Finally, she found it hard to conform to a normal routine, especially because she constantly had ideas and questions running through her weird minds. Very often, she was nocturnal and would continue to explore her ideas and come up with new explanations while everyone else were fast asleep.

Emina was a unique one in her team which leaded to many people hating her and being jealous, so she made a lot of enemies even though she was the life saver of all situations..

I stood at my mother's open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest's voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone-he brought Charla with him. He claimed she'd had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

My bank account showed exactly $42.18, and my student loan notifications were flashing red. I lived in a sweltering Queens apartment with my Aunt Lydia, where the air was thick with the smell of stale frying oil and the constant threat of being homeless. Lydia handed me a grainy photo of a man twice my age and told me she had already "sold" me to him. He was a dry cleaner looking for a wife, and in exchange for my hand, he would pay off her credit cards and my debt. If I didn't show up for the date that night, my boxes would be on the curb by midnight. I arrived at the cafe in a state of panic, my selective mutism making it impossible to even breathe. In the crowded room, I accidentally sat at the wrong table. Instead of the man from the photo, I found myself facing Gerhard Holcomb—the cold, terrifyingly handsome billionaire whose family owned the very museum where I worked. He didn't send me away; instead, he studied my trembling hands and offered me a different deal: a two-year contract marriage, a two-million-dollar payout, and a strict clause forbidding any children. I signed the papers and moved into his Park Avenue penthouse, thinking I was finally safe. But when I went back to the old apartment to retrieve the only memento of my dead parents, Lydia lashed out, leaving me bleeding from a head wound. Gerhard’s retaliation was absolute—he had her arrested and her building foreclosed on within hours, claiming he was simply "protecting his assets." As I recovered in his silent, glass-walled home, I saw a call from a famous socialite flash on his phone, and a cold truth settled in my gut. I wasn't just a wife; I was a placeholder, a silent shield used to fend off the women from his past. I looked at the massive pink diamond on my finger and realized the silence I had lived in my whole life was about to become my most expensive prison. I had traded a life of poverty for a high-stakes game of shadows, and now I had to survive the man who claimed to own me.

HONEY MULLINS

Six years ago, I was a naive girl sold by my father to the powerful Sanders estate, only to be tossed onto the streets after a brutal assault they labeled "marital infidelity." I fled the country pregnant and broken, hiding from the shadow of a husband I had never even met. Now, I've returned to New York with my triplets to sign the final divorce papers and disappear forever. But Archibald Sanders-the man I was told was a crippled recluse-intercepted us with the cold precision of a predator. He didn't see the woman his family destroyed; he saw a gold-digger who had shamed his name. His security team hunted us to a grimy motel, using tactical force to snatch my children away and drag me to his glass-walled empire. In his office, he loomed over me, demanding a DNA test and threatening to throw me in prison while my babies were lost to the foster system. He was convinced I'd cheated, yet he stared at my sons with a haunting confusion, unable to ignore the stormy blue eyes that were a perfect mirror of his own. I stood there, paralyzed by his scent-the sharp tang of rain and expensive leather that triggered the icy dread of my worst nightmares. How could he accuse me of betrayal when he felt exactly like the monster who had shattered my life in that dark hotel room? "I'll sign anything," I sobbed, "just give me my kids." But the game changed when my five-year-old son hacked the tower's security, holding the skyscraper hostage to save me. In the chaos, a fragile, silent boy-Archibald's secret son-wandered into the room and reached for me as if I were his missing soul. Archibald's face turned to stone as he tore up the agreement and locked the doors. "Until I find out why my son is looking at you like that," he growled, "you aren't going anywhere."

SHANA GRAY

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.
