Deadly lust Chapter 1 The bar

Amanda Jacobes hated bars. For her bars were places where overstuffed men went to drink out their days sorrows, talk bullocks, maybe try and catch a few women in their net.

She had picked a corner of the bar where she wouldn't be noticed easily. But no matter wherever she stayed she was still spotted.

She hadn't necessarily come to the bar to drink or anything of the sort. She was on a different mission, one that she had to time perfectly.

The bar door opened and a man walked inside. He was wearing a tux and his jet black hair had been gelled back.

Amanda pulled out the picture her client had given her from her handbag and looked at it. She had sights on her prey now.

The man who had just walked in was attractive Amanda wouldn't deny that but Amanda wasn't here to fancy him or anything. In fact she was here to make sure that she got the man's attention.

She was wearing a short miniskirt and a tight sleeveless top which hugged her figure wonderfully. Her long tanned legs were on full display.

It was important that she achieved that sexy look of an innocent woman men so craved.

Her prey (the man who had walked in) was sitting down on one of the bar stools a drink in one hand and his phone in another. He was laughing about something which he was looking at in his phone, revealing rows of perfect white teeth in the process.

Amanda knew that there was no way her prey would notice her from this corner of the bar. In order to get him to notice her she had to step into his headlights.

Amanda left the corner of the bar she was in and headed over to where her prey was. She picked a seat close to him and pretended not to notice his gaze on her.

"Can I take your order miss?'' the barman asked.

"Yes, scotch on the rocks, please" she answered.

From the corner of her her eyes she watched as her prey put his phone in the breast pocket of his tux and took another sip of his drink while still watching her.

The barman dropped her drink in front of her and Amanda paid.

"Hi I'm Luke" her prey finally spoke up extending a hand.

"Oh my name is Leah'' Amanda replied taking his hand which was sweaty.

"What is a beautiful girl like you doing here all by herself?" Luke asked leering at her.

Amanda nearly rolled her eyes. Were men always so gullible?

"I'm just waiting for a friend.

"Oh, by the looks of it it's as though your friend isn't arriving anytime soon" Luke said brushing his hand towards his hair.

"Yeah looks like it."

Amanda surreptitiously glanced at her watch and saw that she was losing time, in a few minutes her client would be arriving and Amanda needed to give her satisfactory results. She needed to get Luke into a compromising position.

Amanda edged closer to Luke and looked him in the eye.

"You wanna play?" she said in her best seductive voice.

She watched as Luke's eyes glowed at the sudden question.

"Hell yeah" he groaned nodding his head.

Again Amanda resisted another eye roll.

"Come with me" Amanda said blowing him a kiss.

She grabbed a hold of his tie and dragged him away from the bar towards the bar door and into the cold night. Luke just followed like a lost puppy probably disbelieving his good luck.

Once outside Luke suddenly sprang to life. He pushed her towards the wall and reached down for her lips when Amanda suddenly stopped him.

"Shh, i like it nice and slow" she said holding back Luke's lips with her index finger.

"Okay, alright," Luke moaned his cheeks flushed.

"I want to feel you, touch you" Amanda breathed in his ears.

Luke only nodded and started pulling off his trousers. He pushed down his trousers and his briefs remained.

Maybe she shouldn't have said that.

As she looked below she could see Luke's monster of a hard on straining to get out.

Where the fuck was her client Amanda wondered.

Luke was about to pull down his briefs and Amanda was trying to think of something that would keep Luke's briefs on his waist longer, when suddenly there was a screech of tyres and a cars headlight

flashed on the both of them.

Thank god.

Amanda watched as Luke's hard on became flaccid and his face suddenly took on a pallid colour.

A very angry brunette clambered out of the car brandishing her purse.

"Luke you whore monger" the woman screamed reach reaching Luke and hitting him with her purse repeatedly as Amanda slunk away from the scene.

"No, it's not what you think, I can explain Jessica" Luke begged.

"Fuck your explanation" the woman yelled in anger as she slapped Luke who hadn't even pulled up his pants yet.

The bar door suddenly opened and and a score of people started filing out because of the noise.

Amanda hurried away from the scene a giggle threatening to erupt from her lips.

Mission accomplished.

She had to make a full report at the society next day. It was her third job since joining the society and she knew she was doing well.

Steering herself away from the growing commotion outside the bar door she located her car, inserted the keys into the ignition and brought the car to life.

Her client would pay her later. Nobody owed the society all the clients knew to steer clear if that mistake. The money wasnt her problem, the problem was leaving the scene of drama as soon as the task was completed.

She nudged the car forward and quicky drove back home. Amanda felt happy, she hadnt felt this happy in a long time but today was different.

She felt as though she had helped another woman who needed her. Closing her eyes she sighed happily.

I stood at my mother's open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest's voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone-he brought Charla with him. He claimed she'd had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.

The Silent Bride's Billion Dollar Contract

Landslide

My bank account showed exactly $42.18, and my student loan notifications were flashing red. I lived in a sweltering Queens apartment with my Aunt Lydia, where the air was thick with the smell of stale frying oil and the constant threat of being homeless. Lydia handed me a grainy photo of a man twice my age and told me she had already "sold" me to him. He was a dry cleaner looking for a wife, and in exchange for my hand, he would pay off her credit cards and my debt. If I didn't show up for the date that night, my boxes would be on the curb by midnight. I arrived at the cafe in a state of panic, my selective mutism making it impossible to even breathe. In the crowded room, I accidentally sat at the wrong table. Instead of the man from the photo, I found myself facing Gerhard Holcomb—the cold, terrifyingly handsome billionaire whose family owned the very museum where I worked. He didn't send me away; instead, he studied my trembling hands and offered me a different deal: a two-year contract marriage, a two-million-dollar payout, and a strict clause forbidding any children. I signed the papers and moved into his Park Avenue penthouse, thinking I was finally safe. But when I went back to the old apartment to retrieve the only memento of my dead parents, Lydia lashed out, leaving me bleeding from a head wound. Gerhard’s retaliation was absolute—he had her arrested and her building foreclosed on within hours, claiming he was simply "protecting his assets." As I recovered in his silent, glass-walled home, I saw a call from a famous socialite flash on his phone, and a cold truth settled in my gut. I wasn't just a wife; I was a placeholder, a silent shield used to fend off the women from his past. I looked at the massive pink diamond on my finger and realized the silence I had lived in my whole life was about to become my most expensive prison. I had traded a life of poverty for a high-stakes game of shadows, and now I had to survive the man who claimed to own me.

SHANA GRAY

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

Neglected Wife: Hidden Heiress's Cold Revenge

Neglected Wife: Hidden Heiress's Cold Revenge

Da Lanlan

I stood in the pouring rain at my father-in-law's funeral, the heels of my black pumps sinking into the mud. I was Mrs. Vargas, the wife of New York's most powerful billionaire, yet I was standing at the edge of the crowd like a forgotten statue. Ten feet away, under the dry shelter of the family tent, my husband Hayes held another woman against his chest. It wasn't me he was whispering comfort to; it was Felicity, his late brother's widow and childhood sweetheart. The humiliation didn't end at the cemetery. Hayes moved Felicity and her son into our home, relegating me to the guest wing while she took over the primary suites. He watched silently as her son smashed the only photograph of my deceased parents, then demanded I apologize for "scaring" the boy with my reaction. When Felicity's negligence ruined a twelve-million-dollar family heirloom, Hayes had the audacity to ask me to use my own savings to buy her a "consolation" engagement ring. He treated me like a parasite, never realizing I was a brilliant scientist with a hidden fortune and three patents to my name. I realized then that our three-year marriage was a hollow farce. Hayes had never even touched me, claiming he wanted to "remain pure" for his memory of Felicity. I was nothing more than a business merger, a smudge on the lens of the perfect family portrait he was building with another man's widow. The breaking point came during a lethal blizzard. Hayes promised to accompany me to my family's mandatory gala-a tradition where my absence meant a death sentence. But at the last second, he stood me up to stay home and tend to Felicity's stubbed toe. Left alone to face the wrath of the Santos Matriarch, I was forced to kneel in the freezing snow as punishment until my lungs began to fail and my vision blurred. Just as the darkness started to take me, a black Maybach smashed through the iron gates. My exiled brother, the man the world calls "The Wolf," stepped out of the storm to reclaim what Hayes had discarded. Hayes thought I was a helpless doll who couldn't survive a day without his trust fund, but he's about to find out what happens when you let a Santos daughter freeze.
