Roommates With The Bad Boy; A nerd and a bad boy romance Chapter 1 The beginning

Chapter 1

I sighed loudly as I put on my headphones and scrolled down the screen of my phone in search of music or anything to keep me busy.

It has been six months since I've been waiting for the admission letter into the college of my dreams.

Holland College.

Oh, how I love that place.

It's a private college.

It was a dream place for any young teenage girl like me would love to go to.

Besides my girl bestie, Ciara already got admission in and is hoping I get to join her soon enough.

I sighed again before pressing my thumb on one of Taylor's Swift songs.

I love her songs and I see her as a model.

I hummed the ongoing song as I walked down the stairs, then headed to the kitchen.

I brought out a box of cereal.

Frizzle pops.

Oh, how I love this cereal.

I grinned as I poured a large quantity in a bowl, added milk from the carton, and stirred it up.

I walked to the living room, then picked up the TV control and walked up to my favorite seat.

It was the best seat to view the TV and the closest to the refrigerator.

Then I switched on the TV and put on teen wolf.

I ate while listening to music and watching TV.

If mom would have seen me, she'd have concluded that I'd gone insane.

After hours of watching, I didn't realize I had fallen asleep till the doorbell rang.

I hurriedly took off my headphones and returned the bowl to the kitchen and then rushed to open the door, it was my mom and she held a file in her hands.

"Hey, mom," I said and she smiled before pulling me in for a tight hug.

"My sweetheart, I'm so proud of you," she said releasing me.

I gasped a little for air, "You've always been."

"But today's own is so special," she said and handed the file over to me.

I hurriedly opened it and brought out the paper in it.

I gave mom a questioning look and she gave me the 'go on' look.

"Dear Tiffany Jones, your approval to join College of Holland has been approved, we would like to have you in our midst anytime from now." I read out loud.

STOP THE TRAIN!

OH, MY BRAIN!

"I'm finally in!" I yelled and then shut my mouth when I realized I was a little too loud, and mom hates noise.

Mom only giggled and pulled me in for another round of the air squeezing hug.

"Now you'll need to get everything you need." Mom said giving me a peck on my cheeks.

My smile faded when I then realized that I'd be leaving Aiden behind.

He was a very close friend of mine since middle school and hoped that we'll enter the same college.

He'd tried convincing me to go to our home's college.

I was reluctant because I'd always liked Holland College right from middle school...and because my brother currently stays there, besides it's only like 52 miles away from home.

I debated on whether to call him or not and ended up dialing Aiden's number.

He picked it up and I breathed in and out before placing it on my ear.

"Hey, Aiden," I said.

"Hey, Tiffy," Aiden said.

"So uhmm I got the admission."

"Woah, seriously I'm so proud of you girl."

"Like seriously you're not mad at me."

"Why the hell would I be mad at someone's success."

"Yeah."

"Life goes on."

"Bye."

I cut the call without waiting for his response.

It's gonna really hard for me to leave Aiden behind.

Well like he had said...life goes on.

...with or without you.

Rain hammered against the asphalt as my sedan spun violently into the guardrail on the I-95. Blood trickled down my temple, stinging my eyes, while the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers mocked my panic. Trembling, I dialed my husband, Clive. His executive assistant answered instead, his voice professional and utterly cold. "Mr. Wilson says to stop the theatrics. He said, and I quote, 'Hang up. Tell her I don’t have time for her emotional blackmail tonight.'" The line went dead while I was still trapped in the wreckage. At the hospital, I watched the news footage of Clive wrapping his jacket around his "fragile" ex-girlfriend, Angelena, shielding her from the storm I was currently bleeding in. When I returned to our penthouse, I found a prenatal ultrasound in his suit pocket, dated the day he claimed to be on a business trip. Instead of an apology, Clive met me with a sneer. He told me I was nothing but an "expensive decoration" his father bought to make him look stable. He froze my bank accounts and cut off my cards, waiting for the hunger to drive me back to his feet. I stared at the man I had loved for four years, realizing he didn't just want a wife; he wanted a prop he could switch off. He thought he could starve me into submission while he played father to another woman's child. But Clive forgot one thing. Before I was his trophy wife, I was Starfall—the legendary voice actress who vanished at the height of her fame. "I'm not jealous, Clive. I'm done." I grabbed my old microphone and walked out. I’m not just leaving him; I’m taking the lead role in the biggest saga in Hollywood—the one Angelena is desperate for. This time, the "decoration" is going to burn his world down.

My five-year-old daughter was dying in the ICU, her heartbeat replaced by the continuous, electronic scream of a flatline. I gripped her cold hand, my throat sealed shut by a terror so absolute I couldn't even cry out. I dialed my husband Grayson's private number, the one reserved only for me and his assistants. He declined the call instantly. A second later, a text buzzed against my palm: "In a meeting. Do not disturb. Stop calling." Five miles away, Grayson was at a luxury gala, adjusting his silk tie and laughing with Belle Escobar. He told her I was just being "dramatic" and using our daughter's "fever" as an excuse to avoid the event. He had no idea Effie's heart had already stopped. When I finally reached our penthouse, soaked from the rain and carrying Effie's small socks in a plastic bag, Grayson didn't even look at me. He snapped at me for ruining the hardwood floors and asked if I'd left Effie with the nanny just to "feel sorry for myself." Three days later, while I buried our daughter in a small, lonely ceremony, Grayson was at the Hamptons. Belle posted a photo of him golfing with the caption: "A mental health day with the boys." He didn't even attend the funeral, but he returned home demanding I clear out Effie's room to make a study for Belle's son. The injustice burned through me until there was nothing left. I swallowed a handful of sleeping pills, desperate to join my daughter. But instead of the darkness, I woke up to blinding lights and the scent of Grayson's expensive cologne. I was standing in a ballroom, wearing a blue silk dress I had already burned. Above me, a banner read: "Happy 5th Birthday Kaiden & Effie." I was back, exactly one year before the tragedy. This time, I wasn't going to be the grieving wife. I was going to be their worst nightmare.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

Hayley was betrayed by those who should have loved her most. To save their precious adopted daughter from a punishment she deserved, her own parents sent Hayley straight into a living hell—an infamous prison where survival demanded cruelty, and weakness meant death. Four years later, the girl who had entered those iron gates no longer existed. She emerged with a single, unbreakable rule carved into her soul: Every betrayal would be repaid tenfold. The day she walked free, the world trembled. A convoy of luxury cars lined the road. A legion of loyal followers awaited her triumphant return. Her father tried to buy her silence with money. But money had long lost its power over her. Her adopted sister hid behind sweet words and false kindness. But empty smiles no longer fooled her. Everything that had once been stolen would be reclaimed—piece by piece. When her parents attempted to tie themselves to the city's most feared man by offering their adopted daughter, Hayley's lips curved into a cold smirk. "Not on my watch." Backed by a legendary hacker, shadowy allies, and an entire prison willing to burn the world for her, Hayley dismantled her enemies with terrifying precision. Then the tyrant noticed her. "You're interesting," he said. "Be my woman, and the city is yours." Hayley raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "You want to own me? Survive me first." High society became their battlefield. Power collided with desire. Ambition clashed with obsession. In this ruthless game of dominance and temptation, only one would kneel first. The girl once abandoned in hell rose from its ashes, crowned by fire and vengeance—And in the end, even the most feared ruler in the city would bow, offering his empire to the woman who had conquered both hell… and him.
