Chapter 1 Sibling

"Royce... Royce!!! Hey! Open the door now!" a very familiar voice was deafening, and the owner of the voice was knocking on Royce's bedroom door quite loudly and impatiently.

doc doc doc doc

The eyes of the brown-haired youth who was sitting leaning back who was finally asleep, blinked for a moment. But in the next second, this young man continued to close his eyes even tighter.

"Who is it?! That person is so annoying!" Royce grumbled in his mind as he smirked and closed his eyes.

"ROYCE!!!" however, the owner of the loud and discordant voice was not discouraged. He kept shouting the name of his brother while constantly knocking loudly on the door of Royce's private room.

"Royce... if you don't open this door on the count of three... I'll force my way through it!" threatened someone behind the door who looked earnest.

Hearing something dangerous in his room, at that moment Royce got up from his seat and rushed towards the door with a face full of anger.

BRAAKKK

Royce opened the door so violently that the handle hit the wall on the other side hard.

It was clear now that the person who was knocking on the door impatiently was Royce's youngest brother, Rumi.

"What do you want? HAH?!" Royce's tone suddenly sounded so angry. His face was flushed with a fierce and brusque expression.

"W-wait a minute! Calm down, Royce ..." the girl was now speaking in a tone so low that it sounded like a frightened person. "It sucks when you're like this, Royce."

Although it could be seen that the girl was frightened by her first brother's tantrum, the girl still said things that made Royce's emotions rise.

"Just tell me what do you want?" The black-eyed young man didn't want to feel even more irritated with his youngest brother who was famous for his harsh words when it came to his brother

"Oh, alright..." Rumi took a deep breath and then let it out quietly. He moved his hands up and down as he inhaled.

Royce rolled his eyes, he couldn't understand his sister's behavior that was getting worse. Even though the girl will be married soon, but her behavior is still the same as before. At least that's what makes Royce, will not feel the loss of a family member again.

"So it goes... Royce, I'm... going to have a wedding with Will... I want it in this house but, Will says he already has the perfect place for it. Then... for his own time... Will and I haven't decided yet. Therefore, tomorrow night I want to hold a family meeting to discuss this. So... that's all I want to tell you," then Rumi smiled a wide smile that showed a row of white teeth.

The eldest son of the Harfi and Gibson families rolled his eyes again, then he placed his hands in front of his face to cover his face.

"Why?" asked Rumi innocently.

The young man in front of him sighed as he opened his arms and looked at Rumi well, "Listen, I... will always support whatever makes you happy. Therefore, I will do anything even if it's a very sudden thing for me. But...my dear sister, my youngest sister, my sweet sister... DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN WAKE UP BY KNOCKING LOUDLY ON THE DOOR WHILE Screaming LIKE THAT!" then the young man panted after saying the last sentence full of emotion to his sister.

Rumi's eyes widened greatly, his heart beat faster, and he stuttered in response to his brother's words, "alright. I'm sorry," it could be felt and heard clearly that the girl felt sorry for her actions.

Then the 20-year-old girl turned around and began to move her feet to step away from her brother's angry area.

However, Royce forbade him to go, "Wait a minute. Remember, Rumi... I'm not mad at you. I'm just annoyed you woke me from sleep with a very sweet dream. That's all... that's why I'm really annoyed at your behavior earlier."

At that moment Rumi stopped moving his feet, then immediately returned to face Royce's room door which was still wide open.

The girl's eyes squinted at her sister intently. As for Royce, he seemed to be frowning, surprised and confused by another silly behavior from his sister. Inwardly, the young man muttered, "why else is he here?" Then the young man took a deep breath.

"What did you dream about when you were sleeping? What... a bad dream?" chirps originating from Rumi while his eyes keep narrowing like someone who is researching something.

"W-what?! Impossible. Of course my dream is full of the luxury of a royal prince who is full of authority, hehe," said Royce doubtfully. At that moment his gaze shifted to another angle.

"Then why won't you look at me now?" Rumi began to suspect his older brother's unusual behavior.

"That's enough. It's none of your business either," the young man occasionally glanced at his younger brother who remained with the behavior of a detective.

"Hm... you are nervous, not returning my gaze either. Hm ... it is certain that something is wrong with your dream ..." continued the girl with long brown curls as she approached her sister.

"What's wrong is your brain, Rumi!" at the same time, Royce's gaze shifted back to his little sister. He sounded irritated, but still patiently tolerated his youngest brother's childish behavior.

Suddenly Rumi distanced himself from Royce, his eyes no longer narrowed, now he looks normal again. But now his mouth is moving forward with a slightly frowning forehead, "if there is something wrong in my brain, then what's up with your brain? We are one womb, one womb, surely our brains are the same, right?"

Royce's eyes widened, the next second the young man sighed as he closed his eyes for a moment, "Okay. You won... that's it, I'm so tired. I want to take a rest."

Royce's right hand was ready to close the door again. Even so, his intentions were crushed when he saw the pitiful look on his little sister's face.

"What else, Rumi...?"

"Thank You. I love you so much. I hope, you get the best girl who can make you live happily and prosperous forever. I... love you very much, Royce."

Shortly after Rumi said touching words, he immediately turned around and went for a walk to another room in the house.

Meanwhile, Royce was still rooted to the spot after hearing the touching words of his youngest brother. But strangely, when Rumi said there was a girl who made Royce happy, lived happily with Royce, suddenly two people's names and their faces flashed through his mind. Namely the faces and names of the two girls, Kayra Mahakam, and Maira Wijaya.

The heavy thud of the release stamp was the only goodbye I got from the warden after five years in federal prison. I stepped out into the blinding sun, expecting the same flash of paparazzi bulbs that had seen me dragged away in handcuffs, but there was only a single black limousine idling on the shoulder of the road. Inside sat my mother and sister, clutching champagne and looking at my frayed coat with pure disgust. They didn't offer a welcome home; instead, they tossed a thick legal document onto the table and told me I was dead to the city. "Gavin and I are getting engaged," my sister Mia sneered, flicking a credit card at me like I was a stray dog. "He doesn't need a convict ex-fiancée hanging around." Even after I saved their lives from an armed kidnapping attempt by ramming the attackers off the road, they rewarded me by leaving me stranded in the dirt. When I finally ran into Gavin, the man who had framed me, he pinned me against a wall and threatened to send me back to a cell if I ever dared to show my face at their wedding. They had stolen my biotech research, ruined my name, and let me rot for half a decade while they lived off my brilliance. They thought they had broken me, leaving me with nothing but an expired chapstick and a few old photos in a plastic bag. What they didn't know was that I had spent those five years becoming "Dr. X," a shadow consultant with five hundred million dollars in crypto and a secret that would bring the city to its knees. I wasn't just a victim anymore; I was a weapon, and I was pregnant with the heir they thought they had erased. I walked into the Melton estate and made an offer to the most powerful man in New York. "I'll save your grandfather's life," I told Horatio Melton, staring him down. "But the price is your last name. I'm taking back what's mine, and I'm starting with the man who thinks he's marrying my sister."

I lay paralyzed on stiff white sheets, a prisoner in my own skin, listening to the rain lash against the window like nails on a coffin. My father, Elmore Franco, didn't even look at my face as he checked his clipboard. He just listened to the steady, monotonous beep of the heart monitor-the only thing proving I was still alive. Without a hint of remorse, he pulled a pen from his pocket and signed the Do Not Resuscitate order. My stepmother, Ophelia, stepped out from behind him, wearing my favorite pearl necklace and smelling of cloying perfume. She leaned close to my ear to whisper the truth that turned my blood to ice. "It was the tea, darling. Just like your mother. A slow, tasteless poison." She chuckled as she revealed that my fiancé, Bryce, had a two-year-old son with my sister, Daniela. My inheritance had been funding their secret life for years, and now that the money was secure, I was an inconvenience they were finally scrubbing away. As my father yanked the power cord from the wall, the beeping died, and the darkness swallowed me whole. I was being murdered by my own flesh and blood, used as a bank account until I was no longer needed. I died in that sterile room, drowning in the realization that every person I ever loved was a monster who had been waiting for me to take my last breath. Then, I gasped. I woke up in a luxury hotel suite surrounded by silk sheets, five years in the past-the very morning of my wedding. Next to me lay Basile Delgado, the "Wolf of Wall Street" and my family's most dangerous enemy. In my first life, I ran from this room in a panic and lost everything. This time, I looked at the man who would eventually destroy my father's empire and decided to join him. "I'm not leaving, Basile. Marry me. Right now. Today."

I had been a wife for exactly six hours when I woke up to the sound of my husband’s heavy breathing. In the dim moonlight of our bridal suite, I watched Hardin, the man I had adored for years, intertwined with my sister Carissa on the chaise lounge. The betrayal didn't come with an apology. Hardin stood up, unashamed, and sneered at me. "You're awake? Get out, you frumpy mute." Carissa huddled under a throw, her fake tears already welling up as she played the victim. They didn't just want me gone; they wanted me erased to protect their reputations. When I refused to move, my world collapsed. My father didn't offer a shoulder to cry on; he threatened to have me committed to a mental asylum to save his business merger. "You're a disgrace," he bellowed, while the guards stood ready to drag me away. They had spent my life treating me like a stuttering, submissive pawn, and now they were done with me. I felt a blinding pain in my skull, a fracture that should have broken me. But instead of tears, something dormant and lethal flickered to life. The terrified girl who walked down the aisle earlier that day simply ceased to exist. In her place, a clinical system—the Valkyrie Protocol—booted up. My racing heart plummeted to a steady sixty beats per minute. I didn't scream. I stood up, my spine straightening for the first time in twenty years, and looked at Hardin with the detachment of a surgeon looking at a tumor. "Correction," I said, my voice stripped of its stutter. "You're in my light." By dawn, I had drained my father's accounts, vanished into a storm, and found a bleeding Crown Prince in a hidden safehouse. They thought they had broken a mute girl. They didn't realize they had just activated their own destruction.
