He Stole My Heart Chapter 1 Cool the dracula

I sat relaxed on the sand, listening to the sound that the waves made while crashing against each other. The wind is blowing in my face, making my hair dance to its tunes and the sun gradually residing into the waters, and the sky changing its color from orange-yellow to flamboyant pink.

I stared into the water mindlessly only to see a Greek God surfing on the waters effortlessly making my heart skip a beat with his

He came out of the waters in slow motion his face away from the light. I stood up yearning for a single glimpse of his face. All I could make out was his sharp features and perfect muscular body.

He noticed me and walked towards me, even though I couldn't see his face I can feel him smile at me. I gasped looking at his face.

"Chris!" I let out a breath.

"I love you and I want to marry you," I confessed looking at his piercing blue eyes.

"Me Chris Hemsworth, fell in love with you the second my eyes landed on you. I wish that you will agree to spend every minute of your life with me for the rest of our lives. Will you marry me?" He asked pulling out a seashell with a hole in it.

I let the happy tears out of my face and breathed out a...

"Amy, wake up, you don't want to be late for school." My mother yelled entering my room. I groggily opened my eyes and checked the surrounding.

Dracula with eyes spitting fire √

"Let me sleep Mama " I mumbled while still trying to accept reality. She opened the curtains to let sunlight pour into the room. I closed my eyes and pulled the blanket over my head.

"Please close the drapes mama. Just 5more minutes." I said turning to sleep on my stomach and hiding my face in my pillow just hoping I could continue my dream.

But, the Dracula she is just pulled my blanket away resulting in me landing first on my buttocks.

"You are already late. I told you last night to stop watching FRIENDS and go to sleep. Come on wake up. I'm going back to the kitchen. I don't want to come again to wake you up. If you are going to be late then it's not my fault." Saying mama left the room leaving my sore ass on the floor.

I stood up slowly and sighed if I was lucky maybe he would visit me again in my dreams and we could continue our confession.

After finishing my morning routine, I stepped out of the bathroom wrapped in a baby pink towel and walked into the walk-in closet wondering what to wear on my 1st day to school. I just picked a yellow top with a floral design and paired it with white shorts and sneakers rushing downstairs with my bag to the dining room.

"Good morning Dad." I chirped seeing my Dad at the breakfast table.

"Good morning Princess," Dad replied flashing a smile while having his breakfast roti and paneer curry (Indian bread and cottage cheese curry)

Oh yes, my mom prepares the best Indian Food. Mama came to California for her higher studies and fell in love with my Dad whom she met at the university. Well, they decided to get married, but her family never agreed as my Dad is from The States and they could never accept an American as their son-in-law.

Mama tried to persuade them but seeing them fix her marriage with someone else she left everything behind and came back to California.

Long story short my parents got married, but my mama lost her family who decided to cut all ties with her for bringing shame to the family. She still misses them. She wants to show them that she did chose the right guy. She wants me to meet them someday and bond with them.

"Dad I just dreamed about Chris. He declared his love for me and asked me to marry him."

"Didn't you dream a similar thing with harry styles last week?" Dad cocked his eyebrow at me teasing a smile.

Before I could retort, that this time it felt so real. Dracula shouted from the kitchen.

"Why are you dreaming about useless things when you should be concentrating on your studies?"

I rolled my eyes in response and my dad blew a kiss my way to pacify me.

"Dad, I'm gonna ask you for a gift for my birthday, and you can't say no okay?" I whispered to him while nibbling my roti so that Dracula couldn't listen.

Usually, my appetite doubles seeing the Indian food on the table but today because of the current state of my mind I'm not hungry.

"Name it and you will have it. Do you want to meet Chris or that harry guy?"

"If only it was that simple... this year for my birthday, I was hoping on, you know to go to the amusement park with Sophie and Ryan. I don't want any gifts or parties. I'm not a kid to have a birthday party."

Anyway, I get my face smashed into the cake just after cutting it by a monster so I would like to pass it this time.

"Yeah okay, it's your birthday after all. As you wish."

I smiled at him but I know I didn't pass the real hurdle which is in the front.

"No Rob, you can't allow them, they are still kids.. what if they run into some trouble or get lost or worse someone kidnaps them?" Mama came from the kitchen with more rotis on the plate. Oh here comes the Dracula. Always on time as expected.

"Oh come on mama, I'm not alone Ryan and Sophie are also coming and we are not kids I'm turning 14 remember?" I tried to reply to her calmly but my voice just came out irritated.

"Okay, then I will come with you guys. You know how worried I get if you kids are alone" My mom said placing one more roti on my plate.

"No way, I'm not letting you accompany us, there is no need to babysit, and we're not kids," I whined and pinched my Dad on the thigh hoping he would help me.

But he just gave a sorry I can't help look.

"Dad, please help me out here, Please Dad, please please" I requested him showing my puppy dog eyes which I know will work for sure.

"Okay, okay let me think about that." Well, that was yes for sure, I know that he will convince mama. If someone can cool the Dracula then it's my Dad and yeah there is another person who could do that, The official Prick in my life.

"Rob you are not permitting these kids to go alone. Just think about it. It's about their safety."

"I didn't say yes, but think about it Priya, I think they are growing up, they are not little kids anymore, I think they can handle themselves for one day. She is not going to be alone. They have each other. She needs to learn to handle herself without her help."

Irritated with my Dad's response she said to me "Amy! you three are not going without adult supervision and that's final, " She said banging her plate with rotis on the table.

"Typical Indian Mother" I muttered under my breath and my father chuckled hearing it and I saw mum's face turning red with anger.

"Mama, please, it's my birthday. I know you love me and fret about me too much but you have to trust me."

"Well, if we can't accompany you, then Jason will accompany you or you are not going, the decision is yours. It's either me or Jason." She can be so adamant sometimes.

Jason, the last name I want to hear and the last person I want to spend my birthday with. I'm super pissed now. Now it's either Dracula or the Prick.

"Mama I want to have a nice outing with my friends not me getting killed in and get my body dumped at some dingy place."

"Good morning Everyone" shouting entered a cheerful Jason with a stupid grin on his annoying face.

What a wonderful way to start my day!! name the devil and the devil is here. I can't help but wonder if he has any psychic powers.

"Why are you always here for breakfast?" I glared at him as hard as I could.

"Because the chef in my house doesn't prepare such yummy Indian food and I love to start my day seeing a lovely face in the morning." He replied taking a seat at the dining table opposite me.

"But I don't want to see your face." I snorted and ripped my roti into two pieces wishing it to be Jason's neck.

"Oh, you wish!! But I'm talking about your Mom's lovely face which usually brightens up my whole day." He gave his ever-so-charming smile to my mom and happily accepted his plate full of rotis.

Mama gave him a playful whack on his shoulder and he winked at her in response.

Someone just come and stab me to death.

"I wish you stop it there young man," Dad said scowling. That's enough for Jason to stop his buttering session.

"Jason, I want to know if you are free this weekend?" Mama asked him while serving him more rotis and curry.

I mentally reminded myself to add more chilli/pepper powder to the food without mama noticing, maybe that would stop him from gobbling all the food in my house. Why can't he stay at his home for food? They have an army of servants. He could get anything with a snap of his fingers.

"Yeah I'm free but why?" Jason asked with his mouth fully stuffed with roti.

"It's Amy's birthday and..."

"You want me to come to this monkey's birthday party? No, I would pass" he cut mama before she could complete her sentence.

"No, she wants to go to an amusement park with Sophie and Ryan so I want you to go with them and make sure that they wouldn't get into any trouble."

I know that he definitely wouldn't agree to it. I know him too well.

"Okay sure," he looked at me with a lopsided grin on his face. Oh how much I want to smack his face and wipe the grin off. Maybe I don't know him too well.

How did he agree to that and more importantly, why did he agree to that? So many questions are running through my mind.

After breakfast, Jason sat in the car and started honking as if his panties were in a twist. I rushed giving quick kisses to my parents, and ran to him and sat in the passenger seat.

Oh, I hate the mere existence of him in my life. I have to drive to school with him daily. How he always comes in between my tiny-miny wishes. And my Mama always listens to him. I don't know what magic he uses on her.

And we started to the Brown's mansion, which was a few blocks away to pick my best friend.

"Why did you agree to come with us to the amusement park?" I asked annoyed.

"Did you think I would lose this opportunity to boss you around for one full day? Imagine getting the chance to command Princess Amelia Jones that too on her Birthday. That's a dream come true." he replied.

I scoffed at him. Oh, now I know why he agreed. There goes my plan to enjoy my birthday with my friends.

Once reaching Brown's residence, Ryan raised his eyebrows at me asking for an update. I mouthed him 'Later' and he nodded immediately.

Ryan joined us in the car and we started to drive off to school. Ryan and I started searching for Sophie amongst all hyper students after their summer vacation.

Near my locker, I caught sight of Sophie waiting for me. I told Sophie and Ryan that maybe our plan to the amusement park might not happen as the He-Devil is coming himself to babysit us.

"But Amy, I think we shouldn't cancel the plan but invite a few more people," said Ryan

"What do you mean, Ryan"

"Well think about it, you should invite Jessica, Dylan, Tony, and Cindy"

"Why I would want to invite Jason's girlfriend and friends for my Birthday? When I don't want him to come in the 1st place." I asked in confusion.

I gagged at the thought of seeing Jason and Jessica shoving their tongues down each other's throats for a full day.

"Oh yes!! Then Jason would be busy with his friends without bothering us and we can have all the fun" exclaimed an excited Sophie.

"That's the dumbest idea I have ever listened to."

"We are 14, not 41. This is what my brain could pull. Can you give some better idea?" Ryan asked with his hands crossed at the chest and narrowed his eyes at me.

"Okay, let me invite them and see if they are willing to come," I sighed. Okay, this is a stupid idea but I could try and see what happens.

I think they probably will when they will come to know that Jason is coming with us. If not others at least Jessica will come, she won't leave any chance to be with Jason, showing him off as her boyfriend.

I started walking with my two best friends towards our classroom in content. Maybe our plan for the amusement park could still happen.

I had just survived a private jet crash, my body a map of violet bruises and my lungs still burning from the smoke. I woke up in a sterile hospital room, gasping for my husband's name, only to realize I was completely alone. While I was bleeding in a ditch, my husband, Adam, was on the news smiling at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. When I tracked him down at the hospital's VIP wing, I didn't find a grieving husband. I found him tenderly cradling his ex-girlfriend, Casie, in his arms, his face lit with a protective warmth he had never shown me as he carried her into the maternity ward. The betrayal went deeper than I could have imagined. Adam admitted the affair started on our third anniversary-the night he claimed he was stuck in London for a merger. Back at the manor, his mother had already filled our planned nursery with pink boutique bags for Casie's "little princess." When I demanded a divorce, Adam didn't flinch. He sneered that I was "gutter trash" from a foster home and that I'd be begging on the streets within a week. To trap me, he froze my bank accounts, cancelled my flight, and even called the police to report me for "theft" of company property. I realized then that I wasn't his partner; I was a charity case he had plucked from obscurity to manage his life. To the Hortons, I was just a servant who happened to sleep in the master bedroom, a "resilient" woman meant to endure his abuse in silence while the whole world laughed at the joke that was my marriage. Adam thought stripping me of his money would make me crawl back to him. He was wrong. I walked into his executive suite during his biggest deal of the year and poured a mug of sludge over his original ten-million-dollar contracts. Then, right in front of his board and his mistress, I stripped off every designer thread he had ever paid for until I was standing in nothing but my own silk camisole. "You can keep the clothes, Adam. They're as hollow as you are." I grabbed my passport, turned my back on his billions, and walked out of that glass tower barefoot, bleeding, and finally free.

The heavy thud of the release stamp was the only goodbye I got from the warden after five years in federal prison. I stepped out into the blinding sun, expecting the same flash of paparazzi bulbs that had seen me dragged away in handcuffs, but there was only a single black limousine idling on the shoulder of the road. Inside sat my mother and sister, clutching champagne and looking at my frayed coat with pure disgust. They didn't offer a welcome home; instead, they tossed a thick legal document onto the table and told me I was dead to the city. "Gavin and I are getting engaged," my sister Mia sneered, flicking a credit card at me like I was a stray dog. "He doesn't need a convict ex-fiancée hanging around." Even after I saved their lives from an armed kidnapping attempt by ramming the attackers off the road, they rewarded me by leaving me stranded in the dirt. When I finally ran into Gavin, the man who had framed me, he pinned me against a wall and threatened to send me back to a cell if I ever dared to show my face at their wedding. They had stolen my biotech research, ruined my name, and let me rot for half a decade while they lived off my brilliance. They thought they had broken me, leaving me with nothing but an expired chapstick and a few old photos in a plastic bag. What they didn't know was that I had spent those five years becoming "Dr. X," a shadow consultant with five hundred million dollars in crypto and a secret that would bring the city to its knees. I wasn't just a victim anymore; I was a weapon, and I was pregnant with the heir they thought they had erased. I walked into the Melton estate and made an offer to the most powerful man in New York. "I'll save your grandfather's life," I told Horatio Melton, staring him down. "But the price is your last name. I'm taking back what's mine, and I'm starting with the man who thinks he's marrying my sister."

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

The rain in Detroit was slick with grime when my family finally came to fetch me. They didn't want a reunion; they wanted a sacrificial lamb to marry into the Kaufman empire to save their failing business. I thought I was just being sold off, but the limo ride ended under a dark overpass where six hired thugs were waiting with chains. My own sister had ordered them to "break my spirit" so I’d be a shaking, pathetic mess by the time I reached the altar. They called me "Detroit trash" and sprayed air freshener when I sat on their leather seats. My stepmother wanted a video of me begging for my life, and my father was ready to trade me like a used car to a man everyone called a "vegetable." They expected a submissive country girl, unaware that I was a high-level "cleaner" who could snap a radius bone before they could even scream. When I finally reached the Kaufman estate, I found my fiancé, Barron, slumped in a wheelchair, drooling and silent. But as soon as the doors closed, the "invalid" grabbed my wrist with a grip of iron and whispered a command that changed everything. I didn't understand why my own blood was so desperate to see me destroyed. What had I ever done to deserve a hit squad and a forced marriage to a man they thought was a corpse? But Barron isn't a vegetable, and I'm not a victim. We just touched down at the Moon family gala in a matte-black helicopter, and as the doors slide open, the "broken" bride is about to show them exactly what happens when you throw away the wrong daughter. "If we're going to crash a party," Barron whispered, his eyes burning with lethal clarity, "we should make an entrance."
