Chapter 1

A Funny incident happened some years back in my secondary School. A Girl I will call Cindy came to join us in Writing Waec from ABJ......She Was So Hot, Young And Naturally a black beauty 😍. Everyone including her Own Gender Admired.

All The Guys wanted to be Her friend so bad that if You have Her 2go Username or black berry pin Every other guy will Respect you.

I also wanted her but The Fact that Every other Guy wanted her Made me feel envious, (Me self na fine boy)🙈 so I backed out a little until one day all The Boys In class Held a meeting and said that if anybody gets to date her before weac Exams are over we will contribute 1k each and Gift the Person. (Son of man was Charged immediately, I also accepted the challenge)

The rule was Everybody has 7days to walk up to her, Invite her for launch in an Eatry (and you must take Pictures for Proof), They all rushed after her but withing 3days she declined all their advances and blocked some of them. I was so tensed because some of my class mates are cute and richer than me.

it was finally my turn, Son of Man Had no idea on how to woo her, the Only thing that motivated me was the Money Gift and the fact that everybody will treat me as a king if I get to date her. So I braced my self, clean the sweat from my palm on my body them I made my move ( Meanwhile I had Initially Made a deal with her friend; if she could give me Cindy's black berry pin and tell me stuffs she liked I will give her 5k out of my reward and she was so interested)

******

I said hello but Cindy replied with her eyes and continued punching on her black berry Bold 2, That moment I was agitated so I just spilled the beans.

Me: You see those Guys out There???

Cindy: Yes, Any P

Me: We Made A deal there if Any of us Can Get to Date you and take you out, There will Be A Handsome Cash Reward.

Cindy: Those boys over there?

Me: Actually not just only them but Every Male student In my Class, And ask Around, "puffy boys" don't make a stupid bet or bluff ( That was the Nick name Given to SS3 Boys because of our lavish life style, sometimes we brought our Parents ride to school and the principal Permits it only if we do not Misbehave or Drive Rough withing school premises).

she Was Struck and she said

Cindy: Am I that special And Important to you guys???

Me: Well TBH you are hotter than what you think, the first day i saw you I had a crush on you but Another reason is because of The Money I will make if I End up goin out with you

Cindy: How Much???

Me: well if i Calculate Every boy in my class that held this meeting apart from Emma That behaves like gay, and class monitor that sees himself as assistant Jesus, the Money will Amount to 65k.

Cindy: So why are you telling me

Me: Because I Have a deal For you. If you can Behave as if We are dating till the end of our Exam I promise to Give Your 20k from the money. (Make una no vex My papa Na Politician🤣🤣)

Cindy: what do you take Me For? do I look Like A girl That can Be Bought with 20k?? what Nonsense.

Me: Don't Take it that Way dear. I am Eager to Get the Money but it will still be sureal and Incredible if I get to date a Black beauty like you. she gave a stylish short smile and said

Cindy: I don't care what you think or feel I am still not interested.

She stood up and started walking away. I followed her and asked How Much she wants

Cindy: What?????

Me: Everyone Gat A price, Just let me know how much you want......

After Rubbing Her fingers for a sec, she rudely said 50k or Nothing

Me: Hmmmm It's ok. anything you want but you must play Along o. She gave this lustful smile that got me sweating in the balls and said "Game on"

I knew I had lost the money despite my stress but the fact that I will be seen as a KING by my class mates and other girls will want to hang out with me because of Cindy gave me Goose bums.

She Never talked to anyone. No one dares to disrespect her even the principal, Her dad must be really Rich.

I told her she will have to follow me back to the Eatry and laugh so hard in the presence of my class mates like am cracking a joke, then when she wants to leave she will give me a Tight hug for 10 seconds ( make my class mate die with Jealousy)🤣. she agreed and Boom, We Kick-started our Scripted Relationship.

when I got home I decided to take a cold heart warming shower, while I was in the bathroom I started reflecting on what has occurred during the day. I was so excited, not because of only the money but because I was the only one to succeed despite having Great challenges.

I dried my body quickly with a towel and rushed to my phone to check if she has accepted my friend request on 2go. I was surprised to meet a message.

Cindy: Hey dear, I am Home now. I hope you are good? this is my mobile No. I am only sending this message to play along, don't let it get to your head.

But Boy it got way deeper than my head......I read the message like 50 times out of disbelieve and Excitement because we never exchanged Numbers, she only gave me her 2go username when I asked for her BB pin. I got my dictionary and walked to my Bed like DRAGO GRANDE, sat down, and started constructing my reply. I was almost Done with my Professional Research when my Phone Beeped ( Message from Cindy)

Cindy: Am online on 2go, let's Hookup There now, I have changed my mind and I have a new deal!!

what could be the deal? Why the sudden change of plans??? I felt hot immediately.

I was confused I went to the fridge, took a cold water and consumed everything in the bottle with one take. then I cracked my fingers and head to 2go.....

I logged in 2go and saw 3 New messages from Cindy ( oil just they comot from my head🙈). I was Carful not to seem too desperate so I said " Hello"

Cindy: we have to talk Can we Meet Tomorrow?

I am not Coming to your house. I will meet you in a Place that's popular flashy and private do you understand?

(I was some how Irritated, I mean....who the Hell does she think she is???? but I played cool)

Me: That's not a problem...I gat you. you seem so worried and it's Giving me negative vibes. we could still talk here on 2go since we have time

Cindy: Hmmmmmm lover Boy, Don't catch Vibes with me, I am not into that

Me: Into What?

Cindy: Boys And all that. I am only talking to you because we have a Deal and am lady of my word. but I want us to change the deal. I will give you Two Hundred thousand in cash if you Agree by Tomorrow

immediately trumpet sounded very loud in my brain, I saw White Angels in shining Robes singing Dorime ... I felt like I was chilling with the big girls. (This Girl Go Chop Nigerian Koboko straight From Magado) So I replied....

Me: you Don't have to Stress that Much, I'm also not that cheap! just tell me what you have in mind we will work through it.

Cindy: You talk like a grown man. if I was into Boys, we was Really goina Dig deep down. How Unfortunate!!

Me: Depends on the way you see it.

Cindy: How old are you, Can you pretend to be something you are not? how rich are your parents???

I went to the New York City Clerk's office to handle a simple administrative matter, but the woman behind the glass handed me a nightmare instead. It was a certified marriage license from Clark County, Nevada, filed exactly three months ago. My vision blurred as I read the name in the spouse field: Baxter Noel. I was legally married to the ruthless billionaire whose legal team was currently suing me for intellectual property theft and trying to destroy my career. I remembered the conference in Las Vegas and a drink that tasted far too sweet, followed by a twelve-hour black hole in my memory that I had chalked up to exhaustion. When I sought help at my family's estate, my stepmother and sister didn't offer comfort; they stole my passport, shredded my clothes, and framed me for academic plagiarism to strip away my university fellowship. Even Baxter himself looked me in the eye with cold indifference, claiming he didn't know me and promising to have me arrested for fraud if I ever showed him that document again. Within twenty-four hours, I was homeless, jobless, and being hunted by the most powerful man in the city. I couldn't understand why a man who "eats people for breakfast" would be caught in the same trap as a struggling scientist like me. The confusion turned to pure terror when I looked at the witness signature on the license: Gene Mcclain. My mother, who was supposed to have died in a car crash ten years ago, had signed that paper with a fresh, trembling hand only ninety days ago. "I am holding a grenade, and I have no idea when the pin was pulled." Standing in the biting November wind with nothing but a laptop and a marriage license, I realized I was just a pawn in a much deadlier game. I stopped running and began to fight back, determined to use my unwanted status as the billionaire's wife to uncover the truth about the mother who came back from the dead.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.

My five-year-old daughter was dying in the ICU, her heartbeat replaced by the continuous, electronic scream of a flatline. I gripped her cold hand, my throat sealed shut by a terror so absolute I couldn't even cry out. I dialed my husband Grayson's private number, the one reserved only for me and his assistants. He declined the call instantly. A second later, a text buzzed against my palm: "In a meeting. Do not disturb. Stop calling." Five miles away, Grayson was at a luxury gala, adjusting his silk tie and laughing with Belle Escobar. He told her I was just being "dramatic" and using our daughter's "fever" as an excuse to avoid the event. He had no idea Effie's heart had already stopped. When I finally reached our penthouse, soaked from the rain and carrying Effie's small socks in a plastic bag, Grayson didn't even look at me. He snapped at me for ruining the hardwood floors and asked if I'd left Effie with the nanny just to "feel sorry for myself." Three days later, while I buried our daughter in a small, lonely ceremony, Grayson was at the Hamptons. Belle posted a photo of him golfing with the caption: "A mental health day with the boys." He didn't even attend the funeral, but he returned home demanding I clear out Effie's room to make a study for Belle's son. The injustice burned through me until there was nothing left. I swallowed a handful of sleeping pills, desperate to join my daughter. But instead of the darkness, I woke up to blinding lights and the scent of Grayson's expensive cologne. I was standing in a ballroom, wearing a blue silk dress I had already burned. Above me, a banner read: "Happy 5th Birthday Kaiden & Effie." I was back, exactly one year before the tragedy. This time, I wasn't going to be the grieving wife. I was going to be their worst nightmare.
