A Baby In The Billionaire's Gate Chapter 1 Episode 1

TS International Group, a leading company in NY city had a business from many sectors; from hotel chains, construction industry, large department stores, entertainment firms to amusement parks. People who lived in NY City might not know their mayor, but they had surely heard of Travis Santiago, the leader of his big family businesses and one of the most sought-after business giants.

Mr Santiago was not only successful and rich, but he was also an absolutely fascinating man who looked more gorgeous than most women. It sounds unreal, but one should see him to say this was true. In addition, he was so smart and intelligent that he could defeat his competitors without them noticing. People tagged him as a "playboy" because he appeared in many various magazines coupled up with his very appealing appealing appearance, his smile alone can melt the heart of any woman and that made people tag him as the "Ladies Man".

News had it that Travis favorite girl is Shriya Gu, his personal assistant because she's always over him like an ants does to sugar. They are always everywhere together. Asides Shriya, no woman has been seen together with Travis.

*********

The busy building of the company became silent totally the moment a black Audi RS3 drove into the drive way.

"CEO is around"

"Boss is here, silence everyone, silence" the workers whispered around each other. They knew better not to make unnecessary noise and even mistakes. Linda, a lady in the finance department quickly straightened her skirt then she bent and started gathering pieces of some files that were flying around.

Those whose desk were not in order hurried to put them in order, In TS, a little mistake can make one loss his or her job because the CEO, Mr Travis Santiago lives the life of a perfectionist.

As his steady strides approached, the silence held still. Travis is a very handsome man even when he's not smiling. Ohh he doesn't smile at work, he only smiles in magazines or whenever he's out for a public appearance.

Behind Travis was Shriya, his personal assistant and the only closest person to him, which made Shriya gained a lot of respect from the workers too. They thought they would loss their job if Shriya doesn't like them. At times, some of the workers bring gifts specially for Shriya.

"Sir, we've completed the concept for ismar stall"

"There's a telecom with Mr buleni in 15minutes about the sponsorship" Shriya told Travis as she took steady strides equally to match his pace.

"Water" Travis said in a low voice and Shriya lowered the files in her hand and quickly hand him his water which he collected so fast.

He opened the water and was about to drink but he suddenly paused when he saw some sheet of papers flying around. They were from Linda's desk. He frowned and hit her table loudly. Linda jerked back in fear.

"What's all these?" Travis asked, now in a low voice.

"Why are all these sketches flying around?" He asked.

Linda fiddled with her fingers in fear. Oh no, she can't bear to loss this precious job. Travis may be so cold but one thing about him was that he doesn't treat his workers badly. All what he demands is their proper service and dedication to work.

"I asked a question, Linda. Why are you so careless?" He demanded.

Linda's words came superfluous. She looked at Shriya with a pleading eyes as she(Linda) couldn't bear to talk back at Travis.

Shriya smiled. She gently placed a hand on Travis shoulder.

"Sir, I'm sure those files must have flied out itself. Linda is a very dedicated person" Shriya said. "We still have a public appearance to make in the next ten minute" she added, trying to change the topic.

"Tell Alex to get the cars ready" Travis replied and left Linda's desk.

Linda heaved a sigh of relief. She knew deep down that she owe Shriya another set of gifts for always helping her out whenever she gets in Travis lane.

"I need information about someone, I will send you the name" Travis said to Shriya who was following him from behind.

"Okay" Shriya replied.

"Your Mom called four times this morning" she told.

Travis let out a smirk that Shriya wish she could see again. She knew the reason why his mother had called him four times in the day.

She had called to talk about marriage to Travis.

"When the car is ready, call me?" Travis replied and walked straight into his office.

"Your Mom is calling again, what should I tell her?" Shriya asked but Travis already left.

*****Night*****

Mrs Lila, Travis mother was worried. She has been trying to reach her son for the past few days but he wouldn't pick her calls. He had stopped picking her calls just because she's always telling him about marriage.

"When will Travis get a woman to bear his heir? Remains an unanswered question in Mrs Lila's thoughts.

"I'm lossing my patience, why isn't he picking up. Does he thinks I have nothing better to do" Mrs Lila seethed.

"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree" Thomas, Travis father stated as he gently descend from the stairs.

"As long as it doesn't fall on my head" Lila replied, she throw her phone to the couch.

"Darling, you can get the donkey to the water but you can't make him drink" Thomas said. "Travis won't get any share of my properties if he doesn't get married. And if he doesn't want marriage, he must birth a child before he have an access to my properties all over the world" Thomas said with pride.

Lila took a deep breath and sat her butt down on the soft couch.

"I'm sure he would start preparing to get a wife once I state my conditions to him" Thomas affirmed.

"I hope so" Lila replied. She's happy now with what her husband said. She's sure Travis won't want to loss everything.

To while away time, Lila took her phone from the couch and opened her YouTube app to check if Annie had drop any new videos.

She doesn't know who the girl is but she has developed an unconditional love for this girl she met online. She's a you tuber who does make up tutorials and while at it, she gives words of encouragement to keep her fans happy while doing her make up.

Lila searched for Annie's channel on YouTube and luckily for her, she had just dropped a new video. Lila opened it with delight.

"May God be praised for creating such an epitome of beauty" Those were the words that always slip out of Lila's mouth each time she opens any of Annie's video.

Annie is a lady with the beauty of several women. Mrs Lila is always facinated to beautiful things, maybe that's one of the reasons she loves this mysterious girl greatly.

"They say life is what happens while you're making plans, what I mean is while you think you're making plans. Fate decides for you and suddenly you're in a place you don't know. Sometimes life will push you all the way to the bottom of the pit and then suddenly lift you up the skies, that's why we have to believe in miracles even on worst days. Do you believe in miracles?"

Annie's smile in the video was contagious in the video as she goes about making a make up video.

The video was coming to an end. And it ended alas which made Mrs Lila frowned.

"Annie you could have make this video longer?" Mrs Lila said as thou Annie could hear her.

"Mrs Lila, your son is here?" Mira, Mrs Lila house keeper announced.

"Really?" Mrs Lila asked and Travis showed up from behind in all demeanor of superiority.

"My son?" Lila called happily even though she's so angry with him for not picking her calls.

Travis approached her. He is not a man of many words. Not even of sweet words. He couldn't even give her a warm hug or sweet cheek kisses.

If he continues like this with her, his mother, how then will he do it he gets married?

Mrs Lila was greatly disturbed.

"Travis not even a hug?" Lila requested.

"I'm sorry Mom, I forgot" he rolled his eyes and finally gave her a warm hug with a little kiss on the nose.

"Travis who's your girlfriend? I mean who's the woman in your life" Lila asked.

Travis smirked. "You. You mother. You're the woman in my life. And can we not have this conversation again."

"I can't cheat you to love another" he whispered..

Lila blushed fiery red even though she knows it's an excuse from him so she wouldn't tell him about marriage.

As Travis sat down on the couch, his hand lay on his mother's phone and he mistakenly played the video she was watching earlier.

Lila smiled, waiting for the expression on her son's face. "Travis, isn't the girl in the video beautiful?" She asked.

"She needs to try extremely harder" Travis replied, his tone was neither harsh nor calm.

I received a pornographic video. "Do you like this?" The man speaking in the video is my husband, Mark, whom I haven't seen for several months. He is naked, his shirt and pants scattered on the ground, thrusting forcefully on a woman whose face I can't see, her plump and round breasts bouncing vigorously. I can clearly hear the slapping sounds in the video, mixed with lustful moans and grunts. "Yes, yes, fuck me hard, baby," the woman screams ecstatically in response. "You naughty girl!" Mark stands up and flips her over, slapping her buttocks as he speaks. "Stick your ass up!" The woman giggles, turns around, sways her buttocks, and kneels on the bed. I feel like someone has poured a bucket of ice water on my head. It's bad enough that my husband is having an affair, but what's worse is that the other woman is my own sister, Bella. ************************************************************************************************************************ "I want to get a divorce, Mark," I repeated myself in case he didn't hear me the first time-even though I knew he'd heard me clearly. He stared at me with a frown before answering coldly, "It's not up to you! I'm very busy, don't waste my time with such boring topics, or try to attract my attention!" The last thing I was going to do was argue or bicker with him. "I will have the lawyer send you the divorce agreement," was all I said, as calmly as I could muster. He didn't even say another word after that and just went through the door he'd been standing in front of, slamming it harshly behind him. My eyes lingered on the knob of the door a bit absentmindedly before I pulled the wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the table. I grabbed my suitcase, which I'd already had my things packed in and headed out of the house.

Six years ago, I was a naive girl sold by my father to the powerful Sanders estate, only to be tossed onto the streets after a brutal assault they labeled "marital infidelity." I fled the country pregnant and broken, hiding from the shadow of a husband I had never even met. Now, I’ve returned to New York with my triplets to sign the final divorce papers and disappear forever. But Archibald Sanders—the man I was told was a crippled recluse—intercepted us with the cold precision of a predator. He didn't see the woman his family destroyed; he saw a gold-digger who had shamed his name. His security team hunted us to a grimy motel, using tactical force to snatch my children away and drag me to his glass-walled empire. In his office, he loomed over me, demanding a DNA test and threatening to throw me in prison while my babies were lost to the foster system. He was convinced I’d cheated, yet he stared at my sons with a haunting confusion, unable to ignore the stormy blue eyes that were a perfect mirror of his own. I stood there, paralyzed by his scent—the sharp tang of rain and expensive leather that triggered the icy dread of my worst nightmares. How could he accuse me of betrayal when he felt exactly like the monster who had shattered my life in that dark hotel room? "I'll sign anything," I sobbed, "just give me my kids." But the game changed when my five-year-old son hacked the tower’s security, holding the skyscraper hostage to save me. In the chaos, a fragile, silent boy—Archibald’s secret son—wandered into the room and reached for me as if I were his missing soul. Archibald’s face turned to stone as he tore up the agreement and locked the doors. "Until I find out why my son is looking at you like that," he growled, "you aren't going anywhere."

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

The heavy thud of the release stamp was the only goodbye I got from the warden after five years in federal prison. I stepped out into the blinding sun, expecting the same flash of paparazzi bulbs that had seen me dragged away in handcuffs, but there was only a single black limousine idling on the shoulder of the road. Inside sat my mother and sister, clutching champagne and looking at my frayed coat with pure disgust. They didn't offer a welcome home; instead, they tossed a thick legal document onto the table and told me I was dead to the city. "Gavin and I are getting engaged," my sister Mia sneered, flicking a credit card at me like I was a stray dog. "He doesn't need a convict ex-fiancée hanging around." Even after I saved their lives from an armed kidnapping attempt by ramming the attackers off the road, they rewarded me by leaving me stranded in the dirt. When I finally ran into Gavin, the man who had framed me, he pinned me against a wall and threatened to send me back to a cell if I ever dared to show my face at their wedding. They had stolen my biotech research, ruined my name, and let me rot for half a decade while they lived off my brilliance. They thought they had broken me, leaving me with nothing but an expired chapstick and a few old photos in a plastic bag. What they didn't know was that I had spent those five years becoming "Dr. X," a shadow consultant with five hundred million dollars in crypto and a secret that would bring the city to its knees. I wasn't just a victim anymore; I was a weapon, and I was pregnant with the heir they thought they had erased. I walked into the Melton estate and made an offer to the most powerful man in New York. "I'll save your grandfather's life," I told Horatio Melton, staring him down. "But the price is your last name. I'm taking back what's mine, and I'm starting with the man who thinks he's marrying my sister."

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.
