Chapter 1 The destiny of Marina

EPISODE 1

And it was night... It's time for everyone to return to their homes...

Human noises gradually disappeared and gave way to the cries of nocturnal birds...

It was already striking 10:30 p.m. and Marina was still on the way loaded with her luggage...

Orphan of mother and father, she didn't know where to go and who to go to, now she's just been kicked out of the house by her aunts, the one who represented her two deceased parents...

It's really miserable what life made her live...

What did she do so badly to deserve this...???

She must therefore with her age become a street child???

Tired, disappointed and alone in the street, she does not lose hope...

She knew inside her that her late parents would always watch over her.

Around 10:30 p.m., on her way, it began to rain ardently and fortunately for her, she saw a Payette in front of a house and she ran to settle down with her young girl's luggage in order to avoid the rain and if possible spend the night..

She had nothing to eat so she had to fall asleep hungry in the storm and the freshness added to the rain...

She was trying to get back to sleep to no avail.

Half an hour later, the owner of the house, Thierry, a young man of about 27, returned from his shift with his RANGE ROVER nvo and to his great surprise, seen from his Marina car under the Payette... she was suddenly awakened by the noise of the car engine and was seized with fright...

Thierry threw the far on her and saw that it was a girl...

He got out of his car and approached Marina and spoke to her:

Thierry: Who are you young lady? and what are you doing here at this hour under this freshness and this storm??

Can't you see it's raining??

Marina: (pause)

Him: Young girl please answer me... it's cold here... Who are you?

Marina: I'm Marina... I don't have a place to spend the night which is why I came here but don't worry, I'll be leaving soon.

Him: And your parents??

Marina: My parents are you asking me?? They haven't been since I was born... my story is too long

.

Him: I already understand you young girl, I'm , this is my house... I can't let you sleep here under this storm.. come with me, I'll give you a room...

Marina: But I don't know you Mr...!

Him: oh my sister, relax and trust me, I won't hurt you, it's just to help you...

Marina: OK thank you very much for your generosity...

Thus, Thierry helped Marina carry her luggage and drove her home.

Him: Uh... you said your name is marina, right?

Marina: Yes Mr.

Thierry: OK marina, do you see this room in front of you?

Marina: Yes sir...

Him: ok, now you're going to sleep there... I'll give it to you... And also make yourself at home.

Marina: Oh really thank you very much Mr.. May the Lord bless you forever..

Him: You're welcome, Marina, well.. I'm going to get the car in and close the gate..

Marina: Okay..

Him: Wait for me in the living room, I'm coming...

Thus, Thierry brought the car in and closed the gate.

Marina the living room couldn't believe in her eyes, it's total luxury at home.. The living room, let's not talk about it anymore... ooh.. it's wonderful..

I was at my own engagement party at the Sterling estate when the world started tilting. Victoria Sterling, my future mother-in-law, smiled coldly as she watched me struggle with a cup of tea that had been drugged to ruin me. Before I could find my fiancé, Ryan, a waiter dragged me into the forbidden West Wing and locked me in a room with Julian Sterling, the family’s "fallen titan" who had been confined to a wheelchair for years. The door burst open to a frenzy of camera flashes and theatrical screams. Victoria framed me as a seductress caught in the act, and Ryan didn't even try to listen to my pleas, calling me "cheap leftovers" before walking away with his pregnant mistress. When I turned to my own family for help, my father signed a document severing our relationship for a five-million-dollar payout from Julian. They traded me like a commodity without a second thought. I didn't understand why my own parents were so eager to sell me, or how Ryan could look at me with such disgust after promising me forever. I was a sacrifice, a pawn used to protect the family's offshore accounts, and I couldn't fathom how every person I loved had a price tag for my destruction. With nowhere left to go, I married Julian in a bleak ceremony at City Hall. He slid a heavy diamond onto my finger and whispered, "We have a war to start." That night, inside his secret penthouse, I watched the paralyzed man stand up from his wheelchair and activate a screen filled with the Sterling family's darkest secrets. The execution had officially begun.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancée. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.
