Deathly Vengeance Chapter 1 The wedding

[I'd rather have someone say they hate me to my face, than to have them talk bad about me behind my back...-]

It was the D-day.

Finally...

Jenny was tired of waiting. Tired of waiting for this day. But it was finally here. She was sitting in front of the mirror wearing a big smile on her pretty face. It was her wedding day, the day she anticipated for so long. She was getting married to the love of her life..

Aiden MacDonald !!!

"Jen, stop smiling too much now". Miley, her sister said

"Isn't it time to come out already?". Jen asked. She was getting impatient already.

"We just got you ready ten minutes ago. Mum is coming to take you out". Miley replied..

"Well where is she?". Jen asked with a slight frown. Her feelings were always shown across her face.. She just couldn't hide it. Whenever she was happy, it would show on her face. Whenever she was upset, it would also show on her face.. That's how she was!!

"bro went to call her!". Miley replied and jen rolled her eyes.

"Couldn't you send someone responsible?". Jen asked with a slight frown. "He'd probably forget the task you assigned him and flirt with all the girls in the wedding". She added.

Mac was her younger brother. He was quite a flirt and a playboy. He could flirt with just about anyone. Quite an advantage, when you've got good looks.

"Ugh, that's true. Totally forgot.. I'll go myself". She replied, got up and patted Jenny by the shoulder saying "you can fantasize about him while i'm gone". Then she winked at her, before leaving.

Jenny blushed, but she was gonna take her advice anyways. Aiden!! She shut her eyes as his face appeared in her mind.

He wasn't putting on any shirt.. She was in his arms, they were sweating from their previous escapade. Then he pulled her even closer, and whispered those three magic words she yearned to hear from him. I love you...

"Mum is here". Mac announced and she shot her eyes open, snapping out of her fantasy.. She looked at both of them through the mirror's reflexion.

Her mum walked up to her with a charming smile, and she couldn't help but smile back. "My dear..". Her mum started. She talked ever so calmly "You look beautiful". She placed both hands on her shoulders and they stared at each other through the mirror. "I never thought this day would arrive so soon. I'm so happy". A tear fell off her face.

"Come in now, if you cry, she'll cry". Mac said as he approached them both "Quit this emotional thingy and let's go. Everyone must be waiting".

"Right". Her mum said as she wiped the tear off her eyes. "Lets go. You can't keep your husband waiting on the altar".

As they walked down the aisle, Jenny's heart beat quickened. He was right there on the altar, watching her every step. Finally, she stood in front of him. He stretched out his hands, like the perfect gentleman he was, giving her that killer smile that always managed to take her breath away. She placed her hand on his, and he wrapped his fingers around them, before pulling her up to stand besides him.

The wedding began. The priest said all the necessaries. They exchanged rings, then he finally said

"You are now husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride".

She didn't wait for Aiden to make the move as she cupped his face and pressed her lips against his. She could hear the loud gasp from the crowd, but who cares?? It was her husband she was kissing, not someone else's.

She pulled away when she heard someone coughing. As she pulled away, her eyes quickly darted to her siblings and parents who were seated on the front roll. Her siblings were grinning at her, while her parents had a teasing smile on.

They finally arrived at his house , or should I say their house now. She stepped out of the car and so did he. He took long strides into the house, leaving her behind. She watched him leave, but said nothing, making up a reason that it must have been something important, or that he was really exhausted. Something must have made him leave her behind.

She sighed as she held her wedding gown, raising it up so she could walk. On getting inside, she was greeted by maids and guards. She smiled curtly before going upstairs to the bedroom..

Aiden had taken off his clothes and was already putting on a robe.

"I knew you were in a hurry to take off those clothes. Itchy right?". She asked with a smile as she locked the door.

"Mm".

"Same here. Could you help me pull this down? ". She asked, as she stood in front of him so he could pull down the zipper of her wedding dress.

He stood behind her, his eyes carried nothing but coldness, as he pulled the zipper down..

"Ouch". She shrieked when he stuck one of his nails into her back.

"The zipper got stuck". He mumbled and she nodded. "Done". He said, before walking to the window side.

Jenny pulled the dress off her body, and turned to see her husband by the window side. She walked up to him, then placed a hand on his shoulder. She felt him stiffen beneath her hand. "Are you okay?".

"I'm fine". His voice was hoarse.. She could not see his face since he faced outside and she wasn't that tall.

"I thought you must be tired. Let's get some sleep". She said and held his hand.

He obliged and they both went to bed. She placed her head on his chest, and had her arms on his neck region.. The moment he began to hear her steady breathing, he pushed her off his body like she was some sort of contagious disease.

He loathed her. He despised her. He..... If there was any other word to describe pure hatred, then that would be the right word to use in describing how much hatred he had for this woman!

Getting out of bed, he left the room as seeing her irked him, and all that came to his mind was to kill her that moment. But no, he wouldn't, not now. He couldn't do that yet, not when he hasn't used her like his puppet. Not when he hasn't made her do all the things he wanted her to. He still had a lot up his sleeves. There were a lot to do, and alot for her to know.

He entered the third room after theirs and locked the door, before throwing himself on the bed.

Getting married to her......*tick*

His revenge has just begun!!!

One Night With My Billionaire Boss

I woke up on silk sheets that smelled of expensive cedar and cold sandalwood, a world away from my cramped apartment in Brooklyn. Beside me lay Ezra Gardner—my boss, the billionaire CEO of Gardner Holdings, and the man who could end my career with a snap of his fingers. He didn’t offer an apology for the night before; instead, he looked at me with terrifying clarity and proposed a cold, calculated business arrangement. "Marriage. It stabilizes the board and solves the PR crisis before it begins." He dressed me in archival Chanel and sent me home in his Maybach, but my life was already falling apart. My boyfriend, Irving, claimed he had passed out early, yet his location data placed him at my best friend’s apartment until three in the morning. When I tried to run, I realized Ezra was already ten steps ahead, tracking my movements and uncovering the secret I’d spent twenty years hiding: my connection to the powerful Senator Grimes. I was trapped between a CEO who treated me like a line item on a quarterly report and a boyfriend who had been using me while sleeping with my closest friend. I felt like a pawn in a game I didn't understand, wondering why a man like Ezra would walk up forty flights of stairs on a broken leg just to make sure I was safe. "Showtime, Mrs. Gardner." Standing on the red carpet in a gown that cost more than my life, I watched my cheating ex-boyfriend’s face turn pale as Ezra claimed me in front of the world. I wasn't just an assistant anymore; I was a weapon, and it was time to burn their world down.

I was the titan of Wall Street until an indictment and an ankle monitor turned my penthouse into a gilded cage. To save face, I was forced into a marriage with Elza, a "mute" girl from the Schmidt family whom I treated as nothing more than a silent piece of furniture while my empire crumbled. The night I was poisoned at a high-society gala, a mysterious server in an oversized uniform saved my life with terrifying, clinical precision. They disappeared into the night, leaving me with a silver cufflink and a burning obsession to find the shadow who held my life in their hands. Back home, I took my frustration out on Elza, telling her she was "exhausting to look at" and "smelled like sickness" after her charity visits. Her own family treated her like a stray dog, trying to humiliate her at the next gala by dressing her in what they claimed was a cheap knockoff while whispering to the press that she was nothing but a high-end escort. "Stay out of my way," I would growl at her, never noticing the steel in her eyes. I sat at my table, watching my rivals' stocks plummet and wondering who "The Zero"—the legendary financial ghost—really was. I never suspected that the woman I ignored was the same one solving the equations that were currently burning Manhattan to the ground. The injustice peaked when Elza stood before the city's elite, not as a victim, but as a queen. She dropped over a hundred million dollars to buy back her family’s legacy, revealing a secret fortune that made my own empire look like pocket change. As I grabbed her wrist and saw the small red mole hidden beneath her watch, the truth hit me like a physical blow. The silent wife I had despised was the savior I had been hunting, and she was finally done playing the victim. "We have a lot to talk about, wife," I whispered, realizing I had been sleeping next to the most dangerous woman in the world.

For two years, I was the invisible force behind tech billionaire Kieran Douglas, convinced that our "private" romance was his way of protecting us from the tabloid spotlight. I managed his mergers, warmed his bed, and waited for a future that didn't exist. The illusion shattered at 6:00 AM when a Page Six alert debuted Kieran’s "real" romance with socialite Aspen Schneider. Before I could even process the betrayal, Kieran sent me a cold, professional text: "Order flowers for Aspen. Pink peonies. Her favorite." When I tried to walk away, my own mother called me a disgrace and threatened to lock my inheritance forever unless I married a sixty-year-old businessman to save her failing estate. At a high-society gala that same night, Aspen intentionally crushed my burned hand in front of the cameras, while Kieran stood by and dismissed me as a "mediocre assistant" who had overstayed her welcome. I stood in the cold New York rain, drenched in champagne and humiliation, realizing that every sacrifice I made for Kieran was a joke. I was a ghost in a penthouse that was never mine, discarded the moment his "soulmate" returned. To the world, I was just a placeholder whose time had run out. But Kieran forgot one thing: my father’s multi-million dollar trust fund unlocks the moment I legally marry. I didn't need love; I needed a signature and a shield. I walked into a discreet law firm and signed a marriage contract with a man I believed was the city’s most notorious, scandal-ridden playboy. I thought I was marrying a degenerate "beard" to buy my freedom and secure my revenge. I didn't realize the man who signed that paper wasn't a playboy at all, but Gaston Collins—the most powerful and dangerous man on Wall Street—and he had no intention of letting our fake marriage stay fake.
