***Brenda*** I had seen Brayan for the first time when I was visiting a friend's house and I was attracted by his physique and it was only on this aspect that I relied on to get in a relationship with him... Since I was in no hurry to go home, I followed Brayan to his house to play a video game and when I entered his living room, I saw a beautiful and gorgeous girl who I fell in love with at first sight but Brayan let me know that she was his girlfriend. Ulrich and Brenda Chapter 1 First chapter

***Ulrich Embolo***

The bell had just rung and all the students were shouting for joy as it marked the end of classes and the beginning of the weekend.

My friends and I had already packed up our things and so we left the classroom immediately.

"What's up guys? What's the schedule for the weekend? Asked my friend Brayan as he patted my shoulder.

"You know my parents grounded me because of the general supervisor telling them about all my crap so, I'm not sure I'll be there if you guys are organizing something" retorted Zeze with a sigh.

I couldn't help but laugh, especially since that sentence came from him.

He was the rowdiest of the three of us and one of the most delinquent boys in school but we loved him just the same!

"They watch you too because you're a kid," I replied, laughing at him.

Zeze, whose real name was Zetala Brayan, was a dark-haired boy who was very cute but not tall like Brayan Onana and me.

Yes, my two best friends were called "Brayan" but I called Brayan Onana "Brayan" and Brayan Zetala "Zeze".

"I'm your equal, it's just that I'm not a tall man, so you have to respect me," he said with authority to get it through our heads so we would stop making fun of him.

We laughed.

"Little boy listen to me very well, girls like tall boys, you understand?" said Brayan laughing out loud.

"Idiots, who are you calling 'boy'? Besides, you don't know that there are several girls who like me? And let's be honest, I'm not that little... Don't exaggerate, guys," he said angrily.

We liked to tease each other. That's how it was! We walked across the courtyard and through the school gate...

"Guys, I have to leave you because if I'm here for more than a minute, my parents will not hesitate to punish me even more. Goodbye and see you Monday...

After laughing at him, we went in his direction so he wouldn't feel alone and after five minutes of walking, we parted ways with him.

"So Brayan, what do we do now"?

"What do you say we go to my house and play a game?

"I'm in no hurry to go home. I'm not in a hurry to go home, so I'm okay with that idea.

Bryan was a very funny boy!

We laughed all the time with him and he knew how to put on a good mood. He was a little brown and very cute. The three of us were, according to people, and I have to admit that the girls at school were shaking their heads at us. They all wanted to be in a relationship with us.

We could have taken a cab to his place but we decided to walk to enjoy the nice weather.

"I hope you're ready to get slaughtered! You know I'm the best when it comes to the console, right?" asked Brayan, laughing at me.

"Always brag! Then when I win you, you're going to tell me it's because you have a headache or a stomachache.

"Oh no, that's something I used to do before, when I didn't know how to play but now I'm strong and I'm going to win you!

"Tell me, would you like to talk about basketball instead?

He laughed as he walked away from me because he knew that Basketball was my domain and that against me he was no good.

"Now you're running away," I said, laughing.

I was a tall, dark-skinned boy, not very talkative like my friends, and I wasn't a delinquent like them. I was rather quiet and very observant. Sometimes I would observe certain situations without talking about them. In fact, I was a bit shy but the girls liked me because I was physically very handsome! That's what they kept telling me.

My school outfit fit me very well and was always clean and well ironed. As for my shoes, I always wore brand name sneakers like the "Jordan" for example...

I arrived at Bryan's house and he stayed outside to straighten a cable that was hanging from the roof of the house.

I went in to drop off my bag and saw two girls, but I only recognized one: Victoire, Brayan's little sister.

She was sitting in front of a girl who was so beautiful and had a smooth black complexion.

I didn't know who she was and I was curious to know.

"Good evening," I said, keeping my gaze on her.

"Good evening Ulrich, how are you?" asked Victoire smiling at me.

"Yes thank you and you"?

"I'm fine Ulrich! It's been a long time! Come and sit down!"!

"Okay but I'm going to meet Brayan outside first to ask him something".

I put my bag on a chair and as I walked in the door, I heard: "Good evening" coming from this beautiful girl.

How beautiful were her brown eyes and her sweet voice!

Without saying a word, I turned around and walked out.

Brayan had already finished straightening the cable and was about to enter the house when I asked him:

"Who is the girl inside"?

"Who are you talking about?" he asked in surprise.

He had the reflex to look out the window to see which girl I was talking about and then he said with a smile:

"Ah I see I see of whom you speak! It's Brenda, my new girlfriend.

The sterile white of the operating room blurred, then sharpened, as Skye Sterling felt the cold clawing its way up her body. The heart monitor flatlined, a steady, high-pitched whine announcing her end. Her uterus had been removed, a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding, but the blood wouldn't clot. It just kept flowing, warm and sticky, pooling beneath her. Through heavy eyes, she saw a trembling nurse holding a phone on speaker. "Mr. Kensington," the nurse's voice cracked, "your wife... she's critical." A pause, then a sweet, poisonous giggle. Seraphina Miller. "Liam is in the shower," Seraphina's voice purred. "Stop calling, Skye. It's pathetic. Faking a medical emergency on our anniversary? Even for you, that's low." Then, Liam's bored voice: "If she dies, call the funeral home. I have a meeting in the morning." Click. The line went dead. A second later, so did Skye. The darkness that followed was absolute, suffocating, a black ocean crushing her lungs. She screamed into the void, a silent, agonizing wail of regret for loving a man who saw her as a nuisance, for dying without ever truly living. Until she died, she didn't understand. Why was her life so tragically wasted? Why did her husband, the man she loved, abandon her so cruelly? The injustice of it all burned hotter than the fever in her body. Then, the air rushed back in. Skye gasped, her body convulsing violently on the mattress. Her eyes flew open, wide and terrified, staring blindly into the darkness. Her trembling hand reached for her phone. May 12th. Five years ago. She was back.

I had just survived a private jet crash, my body a map of violet bruises and my lungs still burning from the smoke. I woke up in a sterile hospital room, gasping for my husband's name, only to realize I was completely alone. While I was bleeding in a ditch, my husband, Adam, was on the news smiling at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. When I tracked him down at the hospital's VIP wing, I didn't find a grieving husband. I found him tenderly cradling his ex-girlfriend, Casie, in his arms, his face lit with a protective warmth he had never shown me as he carried her into the maternity ward. The betrayal went deeper than I could have imagined. Adam admitted the affair started on our third anniversary-the night he claimed he was stuck in London for a merger. Back at the manor, his mother had already filled our planned nursery with pink boutique bags for Casie's "little princess." When I demanded a divorce, Adam didn't flinch. He sneered that I was "gutter trash" from a foster home and that I'd be begging on the streets within a week. To trap me, he froze my bank accounts, cancelled my flight, and even called the police to report me for "theft" of company property. I realized then that I wasn't his partner; I was a charity case he had plucked from obscurity to manage his life. To the Hortons, I was just a servant who happened to sleep in the master bedroom, a "resilient" woman meant to endure his abuse in silence while the whole world laughed at the joke that was my marriage. Adam thought stripping me of his money would make me crawl back to him. He was wrong. I walked into his executive suite during his biggest deal of the year and poured a mug of sludge over his original ten-million-dollar contracts. Then, right in front of his board and his mistress, I stripped off every designer thread he had ever paid for until I was standing in nothing but my own silk camisole. "You can keep the clothes, Adam. They're as hollow as you are." I grabbed my passport, turned my back on his billions, and walked out of that glass tower barefoot, bleeding, and finally free.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.
