Chapter 1 i

Walking slowly down the sidewalk while avoiding people as much as she can in the busy roads of New York, she hit on a pebble in front of her. Her life's been wrecked when she thought things are going to be amazing the very moment she settled into her final year in college. Why do things always manage to fall down from the grounds whenever you are going up the pinnacle? She is going through so much right now. She has only one person left in this entire world for her now that her father is dead.

She felt a tear leaking from the edge of her eyes, she cleaned it with her forefinger and continue walking while thinking about her perfect relationship with her father. How she's managed to bring him back on the lane after her mother had left him because she was born while they were very young and she wasn't ready to take up the responsibilities. Jennifer really never blamed her mother for that but the way her father had tried his very best to bring her up without any help, it never seize to touch her. They were never near rich, just average with his work at the auto mechanics alongside average wage. He never permitted her to work and told her she needs to focus on nothing but her studies, he does everything for her. Now everything has crumbled because he died leaving nothing for her in a tragic car crash. She's got his old model Benz car back in his apartment -the rent due next month so it's useless for her to think she can live there for her last year at college. So much in her plate now that she cannot even pay her rent, an apartment she is staying with her two best friends and then tuition fee. Something hit her chest at the thought of producing so much money in just little amount of time. Life is so unfair to her, her fate is so ugly that she hadn't seen it coming. Currently she is going to her uncle's to seek for help from the last relative she's got from her father's side since she knows nothing about her mother except her name. Her other relatives -she doesn't even know them much- branch out all over the world. Her father's funeral had been brisk with only small family members and friends. She has no cousins of that sort since her uncle isn't married and he doesn't even have any child. Her father refused to get married or even have an affair with any other woman after her mother had left him. He said she is enough for him, he needs no more women in his life after the heartbreak he's been through. She reached his pretty apartment so unlike her father's dinky one. She knocked at the hickory oak door in front of her as she rocked on the balls of her feet. Quiet footsteps came from within, she let out a nervous breath from her mouth while she knotted her fingers through one another. Her mouth suddenly yawed chapped because she's never asked anyone for help while her father was alive but he is family right? It shouldn't matter huh? That's what families are there for after all. Her uncle yanked open the door and gave a small smile at the sight of her. She looked down at her outfit to check whether she's offended him in some way. She's wearing antique orange shirt, denim jeans and her well worn jean sneakers closed her feet. Her smile is hesitant as she looked at him because he looks like he is not ready to accept guests at all. "Good morning, uncle. I hope I'm not interrupting anything or I can come back later." She rushed her nervous speech, her hands shaking by her side nervously. He forced a smile on his face but even a small baby could see the smile was forced. "It's fine. Anything for my baby niece. Do come in..." She nervously walked into the house while smiling awkwardly because she is already regretting coming to him with her problems. Should she go back home and finish grieving before taking her uncle's shit? She doesn't have enough energy to deal with her father's demise and her uncle's lack of warmth. Things are going to choke up, in shambles and chaos. "You've had breakfast or do you want something to eat?" He inquired while walking into his kitchen, the opposite of his living room where she's currently strutting to. After anxiously sitting on the burnishing leather couches, she gave a small reply. "No I'm fine." He came out with a large brunette mug of steaming coffee. He came to sit on the couch close to her instead of the other two couches around the living room. Confused at why he is sitting next to her, she gave a small smile that screams nerves! They've never been too close so him sitting this close to her is something she is not comfortable with. And the way he is staring at her from head to toe does not sit well with her at all! "So... what brings you to your uncle after a long time? I thought you were going to come to me since the funeral, I was waiting for you." He explained slowly, his eyes predatorily looking at her entire face while taking her in. She gulped, something is not right here. "I...I wanted to come too since but college and everything." He draped the hand that is not holding onto the mug around her shoulder, slowly kneading her clavicle in a romantic way and not reassuring way. "You've grown so beautiful, Jenny. So stunning and hot." His hand is now making it's way down her bare arm, caressing her along the way. "Th-thank you." She is getting more and more creeped out but she isn't showing it afraid she might come off insulting him and he will throw her away. He is her last hope, she will take it all in for now. Until she cannot take it... He smiled, so wide in a predatory way. "You can come live with me for now so I can take care of you. I know you are financially not stable since brother wasn't able to leave much for you. I can do all that, I'm here for you. That is what family do. I'll provide everything for you. More stylish clothes, your college funds, heavy pocket money and everything you need." His hands on her thigh, that is close to the last stroke before he opened his mouth again. "You are going to sleep with me though. You know I don't have any wife or even girlfriend, the arrangement will go just fine. No one will suspect anything going on between us. Even if you have a boyfriend, he doesn't have to know about it..." She cut him and pushed him off before he could go on. "I hate you! I regret ever coming here and seeking for help from a disgusting monster like you! You are nothing like my father. I doubt whether you are his brother at all because my father would never have done this to your child. You can go to hell with your money you disgusting piece of shit. Go and fuck yourself repulsive sicken douche." He made a move to grab her when she dashed out of the apartment in a hurry.
