The billionaire's love. Chapter 1 HOT MEETING!

I still couldn't believe what my father had just said, no, better he had gone crazy, more than crazy. Fortunately, on the steps, there was something to hold on to, otherwise I would have fallen.

"Dad, what are you asking me? To marry your driver?! Dad, I think you're not well!" I said, completely stunned.

"On the contrary, I'm perfectly fine" he answered with confidence.

"No, Dad, I don't think so. Who do you think you are to decide who I marry or not? And even if you do, you choose our driver, Dad?" I replied.

"You always got along well, if I'm not mistaken," he contradicted.

"Getting along is one thing, I do it with all the employees. To get married is another, this poor driver of low level does not deserve me and I say no dad you are not going to force him to marry this less than nothing unable to feed himself ".

"You shut up Eva! I've made my decision, I was just telling you. You are going to marry Joel and that's that!"

"We'll see about that..."

I turned away with a black look at this guy who pretended to be my friend just to stab me in the back but it won't happen like that, me? Ngo Essoum Eva, the daughter of an influential man married to a simple driver, an employee I will not let this happen.

Much earlier...

.. Evans Osei ..

I was looking out the window half soaked we are here in Ghana more precisely in Accra and here we are in my family home we are rich and have an inconsiderable fortune. I am 30 years old and I am a great engineer and architect I do both and own a big real estate agency in my name to make my business prosper.

I step away from the window and take my towel and dry myself off by putting my foot on the bed. After a few swipes of the towel my cell phone rings on my dresser. I pick it up and answer it as soon as possible.

The call finished, I get dressed and go downstairs to meet my little family for lunch.

"Hello everyone..." I greeted.

"Ah the little prince of the family wakes up" my sister replied.

"Shut up Sonia!" I addressed my younger sister.

I approach her and flick her on the head to this crazy woman.

"You touch me again, I'm going to hit you," she said angrily.

"Stop it right now. Evans sit down and eat!" my mother said.

Mom, still getting angry I took a seat next to my sister and started to serve myself...

"How's business?" asked my father.

"Very well, I have just been called to go to Cameroon for a while for the construction of a big building near a ministry" I answered.

"But that's a long time to wait for it to be finished" said my mother as she served me.

"I know, but I'm doing it for the money, remember?" I continued, taking my plate.

"Aren't you looking for a woman before you leave?" my mother asked as she took a bite of her meal.

"Him mom? Not even in my dreams!" giggled Sonia.

"Shut up, young lady, you don't know anything about it" said Mom.

"This madwoman is right, Mom, everyone knows me and everyone knows that I have a huge fortune and all the girls here are not really to my taste" I said to calm the situation.

"I was able to find a girl who will be a perfect wife for you, but she doesn't like money and..."

"we don't really know people mom..." cutting her off.

"I don't think she's a bad person, you can marry her before you leave so she knows she has a family."

"I'm going in two days so it's not worth it plus my wife is going to be my choice and no one else!"

So I started to eat and then a silence remained in the room for a while before my father spoke up. "You're not going alone I hope..."

"No, I'll go with Joel, he's Cameroonian, his presence will be very useful to me," I replied.

"It's not a bad idea but this departure is rather precipitous".

"I think so too but it was arranged with my secretary since I was so preoccupied with my house that I had forgotten to tell you about it".

"Provided that you come back with a beautiful sister" teased my sister.

"No way! I want a Ghanaian for my son" retorted my mother in a demanding tone.

"You can see that he doesn't want your Ghanaian mother!" insisted my sister.

"Shut up!"

They are like cats and dogs these two. Anyway, I quickly finished my breakfast to pack my last things in my office I had to be operational for my trip ...

I went down to the car after having greeted the housewives.

Here is my faithful driver waiting for me near the car.

He said "good morning sir" opening the door for me.

"stop the formalities Joel I prefer Evans I told you!"

"Yes sir... Evans!" he replied shyly.

"We're going to the office first before we get ready" He got into the car first.

"We're going to travel tomorrow, Evans?" he said.

"Yes, that's how we'll do it!".

He starts while I take out my tablet to make some adjustments.

After 10 minutes of driving, I notice that Joel keeps looking at me, I stop for a moment and tell him.

I stop for a moment and tell him: "Tell me Joel, I'm listening".

"I wanted to thank you again, it's thanks to you that I am what I am today..." he says while looking at the road.

"Stop thanking me, you say it all the time".

"It won't be enough, sir".

"It's okay, stop it, now you know that I don't like emotions, it's okay, you understand. We are already here" I said, closing my tablet.

We have arrived!

He opened the door for me and I got out to enter the office.

"Good morning, sir" my secretary greeted me.

"Hello Larie, I want the files of the last week in my office, the last hotel sales of the month, in short I want everything, I will be away for a long time" I answered in a hurry.

"Yes sir, I will put everything on your desk".

"Thank you".

I gave him a smile and left to rush off to work to get out faster and go home.

That evening I went home and cleaned up my stuff and packed my bag for my trip, my sister kept teasing me about it.

Finally, the day of departure arrived and I said a quick goodbye to my family so as not to take too long, I know my mother too well.

"Don't forget everything I gave you, please" she said to me, dejected.

"yes mom..." kissing her.

We let go.

"Call us when you get there" she reminded me for the umpteenth time.

"yes mom" already annoyed.

"Thérèse stops it does not go away for ever " launched my father.

"Mom is ALWAYS like that dad well anyway goodbye big brother think about us ok?" said my sister.

"I promise" and gave him a kiss.

We started very early to arrive around 8 pm we stayed me and Joel in a rather luxurious hotel I would not know how long I will stay there let's say throughout my stay.

The next day,

I got up early to be able to see the work site before I started. I put on a very simple work outfit when I received the call from the secretary of the minister in question. Joel and I quickly went to the site.

I said to the minister, "Yes, I will make a model, you will see it, believe me".

"Thank you, the construction must be done very quickly, we have no time to lose" replied the minister.

"I will not stay here either".

"Don't you like the country?" he worried.

"I don't know, I arrived yesterday and I haven't seen much..."

"if you want a guided tour I will offer it to you with pleasure and don't forget the house that I propose you to stay in!".

"No problem, I'll move in tonight, thank you for your kindness" I declined.

We shook hands and I said goodbye to him, I was a little hungry so I suggested to Joel to take me where he could find the best place to eat. It's his country so I trust him.

"You won't regret it, this cafeteria is very good and chic Mr. Do a tour, I'm waiting for you" my driver reassured me.

"Good".

I got out of the car and went straight inside to get an energy drink. I had work to do so I had to hurry, luckily I had FCFA on me to pay.

Out, I open my bottle when I see a group of girls of three a priori approach me they look quite rich and approaches in direction of me, my glance stopped net on this brown girl with the black hair of the medium, fine and very pretty I had the mouth open.

I did not realize that they approached more and more of me when I received like a burning glass on me then cries.

"You fool! Can't you watch where you're stepping?"

My energy drink wasn't with me anymore so I guess where it landed....

I try to raise my head when it's a slap in the face that greets me.

"Eva why did you do that?" asked the girl next to her.

"He stained my shirt from France, do you think I'm going to leave this? The waiters here will learn to respect important customers. Imbecile!" the arrogant stranger, the famous Eva, shouted back.

I was still in shock, she dared to slap me? Is this a joke?!

Stopping my cheek, I raise my head to see her well to tell her what I think and wow I could not believe such a beauty from the front ...

I married Clive Harrington, the coldest billionaire in Manhattan, under a strict contract that forbade any emotional burdens. When I needed a high-risk surgery to save my sight, I checked into the clinic alone, hiding the procedure from a husband who saw me as nothing more than a legal asset. I thought I could handle the darkness in silence. But while I was blind and bandaged in my hospital bed, my biological mother called, screaming that if I didn't produce a Harrington heir by the end of the fiscal year, she would cut off the life-saving treatments for my disabled sister. I was crawling on the cold hospital floor, desperately feeling for a cane I had dropped, when I touched a pair of expensive leather shoes. It was Clive. He was supposed to be in London closing a multi-million dollar deal, but there he was, watching his "contract wife" groveling in the dark like a beggar. He didn't walk away in disgust. He carried me to a five-thousand-dollar-a-night VIP suite and sat by my bed, listening in chilling silence as another voicemail from my mother filled the room, calling me a "useless broodmare" who was only worth the trust fund disbursements my marriage secured. I expected him to remind me of Clause 34B or hand me divorce papers now that I was "damaged goods." Instead, I felt his thumb brush a stray tear from my cheek, his presence shifting from a statue of ice into a predatory shield. "I thought I was just currency to you," I whispered, my voice trembling behind the gauze. "Just an investment." Clive didn't answer with words. He picked up his phone and called his head of legal with a single, terrifying command: "Kill the Douglas family’s credit lines. Every debt, every lien—trigger them all. If they want a war, I’ll give them a massacre." As he leaned down to kiss my bandaged forehead, I realized the contract was dead. My husband wasn't protecting an asset anymore; he was hunting the people who had dared to touch what belonged to him.

The heavy thud of the release stamp was the only goodbye I got from the warden after five years in federal prison. I stepped out into the blinding sun, expecting the same flash of paparazzi bulbs that had seen me dragged away in handcuffs, but there was only a single black limousine idling on the shoulder of the road. Inside sat my mother and sister, clutching champagne and looking at my frayed coat with pure disgust. They didn't offer a welcome home; instead, they tossed a thick legal document onto the table and told me I was dead to the city. "Gavin and I are getting engaged," my sister Mia sneered, flicking a credit card at me like I was a stray dog. "He doesn't need a convict ex-fiancée hanging around." Even after I saved their lives from an armed kidnapping attempt by ramming the attackers off the road, they rewarded me by leaving me stranded in the dirt. When I finally ran into Gavin, the man who had framed me, he pinned me against a wall and threatened to send me back to a cell if I ever dared to show my face at their wedding. They had stolen my biotech research, ruined my name, and let me rot for half a decade while they lived off my brilliance. They thought they had broken me, leaving me with nothing but an expired chapstick and a few old photos in a plastic bag. What they didn't know was that I had spent those five years becoming "Dr. X," a shadow consultant with five hundred million dollars in crypto and a secret that would bring the city to its knees. I wasn't just a victim anymore; I was a weapon, and I was pregnant with the heir they thought they had erased. I walked into the Melton estate and made an offer to the most powerful man in New York. "I'll save your grandfather's life," I told Horatio Melton, staring him down. "But the price is your last name. I'm taking back what's mine, and I'm starting with the man who thinks he's marrying my sister."
