Chapter 1 FIRST ENCOUNTER
The canteen was so noisy, I heard the screams of the students from where I was standing. There was no emotion as I went inside and suddenly the screamers fell silent when they saw me. I am not the god of death but why are they afraid of my presence?
"Tsk ..." I smirked.
'I ignored their stares at me and proudly walked over to the counter. I ordered and headed to the vacant table that was exclusive only to me.
I'm a snob.
Many have also said that I am a sociopath because I don't think about how others will feel about the words I utter. I don't care if someone will be offended as long as I can express my opinion.
"Geez! Have you heard the news? She allegedly seduced her friend's boyfriend."
"It's terrible! It was only last week when she flirted with her cousin's boyfriend."
I quickly stood up and looked at the outrageous who gossips about me. Who they think they are?
"If you want to gossip about me do it here in front of me, so I could join you." My voice was full of sarcasm.
My expression is blank. I didn't give any emotion to them. Yes, I am this rude. I'm arrogant and proud.
I could see they were pale but the girl in orange shirt was still able to raise her eyebrow at me. Brave huh? Let's test her braveness.
"Excuse me, Miss Mondragon but did you hear we mentioned a name?" said the girl in orange shirt.
I also raised an eyebrow at her. I noticed that her hands was shaking.
"Then, tell me who you're talking about," I said firmly while taking a step closer to them.
"Why would we tell you?" She still acting brave.
"I won't force you guys but I'll just ask you something. Have you ever experienced hair loss?" I smirked.
They both swallowed from what I said. They know that I can kick them out of the school if they won't do what I want.
"I'll be nice to you, just put away what I ate and wash the dishes or else you'll be kicked out of this school."
I no longer waited for their answer and quickly left the canteen. I have lost my appetite. Damn those bitches!
"Athena Mondragon."
With a cold eyes and annoyance I glimpsed at Saffira, my ex-bestfriend.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"Don't you have any shame inside?" she asked without answering my question.
"Should I be ashamed? I'm almost perfect, what should I be ashamed of?" my proud response.
"I regret that you became my friend," Saffira said firmly.
I just shook my head and smiled.
"I don't care," I uttered to her.
Saffira was my sixth friend and like the previous ones, she left me too because of fake news and false accusations. I burst out laughing when I remembered that I was not their friend but my wealth and fame. I am famous for being snobbish and cursed, add that my family owns this school.
No one could understands me because no one really tries to recognize and understand me.
"Hey! That's mine!" I shouted angrily at the man who take the bag I wanted.
"It hasn't paid Miss yet, and I'm the first who get it." He smiled mischievously at me.
I gave him the sharp look that many feared. But I did not see any fear in his eyes instead he just smiled at me.
Tsk!
I was so annoyed when he paid at the cashier for the bag and winked at me before leaving. I was so furious that I scolded the saleswoman beside me.
"Drive me home," I said to my driver. There's still annoyance with my voice.
I rushed out of the car when we got home. I want to lock myself in my room and be alone.
"Hija, come here." My mom called me with a wide smile on her face.
I stopped and turned to look at her. I got confused with her smiling face.
"Why, Mommy? I'm tired and I want to rest now. As in, right now!" I complained.
"Hija, we have a visitors have some manners," Mommy whispered with a sarcastic smile.
I slumped into emptiness and drifted away when Mommy pulled me over. She introduced me to her guests.
"You have a beautiful daughter," a lady praised. I think she have same age with my mom.
I forgot her name because I wasn't listening when Mommy introduced them to me. I want to lie down in my bed now because I'm still annoyed with that man.
"Aunt Tina, the food you cooked was delicious!"
My eyebrows arched because the voice sounded familiar so I faced the speaker behind us.
"You! What are you doing here dumbass?!" I shouted angrily.
I forgot my mother beside me and her visitors because of this damn man.
"Athena, watch your mouth!" Mommy scolded me.
"Whoaaaaaa! We met again beautiful," he said smiling.
"You two met, Aki?" the lady asked.
"Yes Mom," he replied. My mom's friend is his mother?
"That's good. I hope you get along because you'll be together for a long time," the lady said smiling.
I was confused so I glanced at Mommy.
"You guys are business partner, Mommy?" I asked.
"Yes Athena, so be nice if you don't want me to pinch your groin there!" Mommy threatens with mixed laughter.
I was really annoyed and I went up to my room without saying anything. Geez! I was even more mad with that Aki. I don't want to get close to him! So what if our parents are business partners? We're out of it so it's not necessary to be close to that stupid guy.
"Hi Athena!"
I glared at Aki but he still put his arm around me. He was not really isolated or afraid of my presence. Almost everyone here at school avoids me but I don't know why Aki isn't even affected with my cold glared.
"Stay away from me," I said stiffly.
"You smell nice!" he said while smelling my hair.
That's it! I really don't want any man near me. I'm not easy to trust.
I slapped him very hard. VERY HARD!
"Ouch! Athena?" he said with disbelief while rubbing his left cheek.
"Leave me alone!" I shouted angrily and left him dumbfounded.
Ever since what happened to Saffira and me I have sworn that I will never be friends with anyone again. I will never let anyone come near me and take my heart, especially my trust. It is also tiring to believe that someone will accept my personality and will not leave me. I just want to have a friend and have an outlet for resentment. I thought it was Saffira because she was different from those who tried to be friends with me.
I miss you twinnie.
If only my twin was still alive there's someone would understand me now. Someone who could I talk with. Someone here beside me and someone I could trust, too. If only she hadn't had that accident.
"I hate you, V!" my mind screamed.
V was the boyfriend of my twin Medusa. Because of him Medusa got drunk causing her accident. He cheated on her. I hate him so much! So from then on I promised that I would never trust men. Our Dad also left us for a woman so this is how I hate men. I saw how two women close to my heart were hurt. My mom and my twin.
So, I'll never let in Aki to my world.
