Chapter 1 Michelle Ford's return

Michelle's pov

After spending 2 years in Paris I am finally back to my hometown Barnesville. My dad insisted on me returning back here, making me drop my plan to pursue designing studies in Paris. Although I'm disappointed because of that, I'm excited to be back and spend time with my lovely family. I just exit the airport and there I see my sister Isobelle waiting for me. That very instant I'm reminded of the time when everybody came to know that Isobelle was not the biological child of Daniel and Lyla Ford, my parents, but an illegitimate daughter of my father and his assistant. The news had become the gossip of the town, it happened a month before I left for Paris and it is one of the few memories I've of my time back here. I was lost in my memories trying to remember her biological mother's name, Just then Isobelle snapped her finger in front of my face and called out "Michelle, what are you thinking?" I was snapped out of my trance and said "uh, nothing" and flashed a bright smile at her. Isobelle then welcomed me with a warm hug and said "it's so good to see you after 2 long years, come let's go home". As we were heading out, I saw Isobelle glancing around all the time. On the way back home, I asked her "Why didn't dad come to pick me?", "Well, dad wanted to come, but I insisted on picking you up, I missed you so much Michelle ''. I smiled at her and looked outside, sliding the windows down. I leaned a bit outside. Immediately, I was pulled back by Isobelle and she called out loud "MICHELLE", her face was all red and I glared back at her. She said "close the window, it's dangerous to lean outside like that". I was still glaring at her, her demeanor was completely different from a few moments before. Looking at me, she deliberately changed the topic "Its grandma's birthday tomorrow, I've bought new dresses for us for the event. You can try them once we reach, Okay?" I nodded at her with a faint smile and she smiled back at me. She started glancing around again, as if she didn't want anyone to know I was back. As soon as we reached home, Isobelle chirped out loud in an ecstatic voice, "Mom, Grandma, look who's back, it's our Michelle ''. Her constantly changing demeanor was very confusing to me. But I'm choosing to ignore it, after all she is my sister.
