The marriage has decided by the elders. Abigail was fulfilling her parent's request to marry David, who was just cheating on her. She was very lonely and living on her own when Isaac came into her life who was uncle by relation. But both could not stop themselves from getting caught in the whirlwind of love. "I love you, Issac. I don't care about our affinity. Marry me." "I loved you long ago, just could not speak but now, no one can keep me apart from you" "But what if grandfather doesn't allow us to live together," Abigail shrieked. "No one matter if you put your faith in me." Issac kissed her on the lips
"Do you think you can put me in the dark forever? Want me to be ignorant forever of your affairs, David?" a beautiful blonde-head girl shed her tears, sitting with a man who showed no guilt on his face. He had his back leaned on the seat and his posture was calm against the tears that could melt a heart.
"Look, I am a man and have desires in my body. And you also know very well how our relationship is. Haven't I tried to make things normal? but you...!! You make no effort. You didn't even allow me to touch you except to hold hands. We are not kids!!" the man named David snapped. Instead of being ashamed of himself, he lashed out at the girl.
She pulled out her handkerchief from her purse to wipe her tears.
"You could have told me instead of cheating on me when I trusted you with my closed eyes. I hate disloyalty. I'd rather be alone for the rest of my life than have a toxic man in my life. We are done," Abigail declared straight to the man who was the first guy she fell in love with. Also, the first man who taught her to see the real world.
"Done!! Huh!!" David chuckled, pushing his body up, then leaned forward and continued, "Have I allowed you to walk out of this relationship? No!! You are bound with me, sweetheart. Maybe you've forgotten that we're engaged. And you can't throw my grandfather's words that were agreed upon by your late parents."
"How dare you talk about these things with your dirty mouth! If my parents had known that you would be like this, they would have probably preferred to eat poison, instead of giving me in your hands," Abigail snapped back with no respect she had for him before. Only after that, she brought her left hand to the table which had a big diamond ring on its ring finger and she took no time to remove it from the finger.
"Done," Abigail said. "I will talk to Grandfather. When he comes to know about you, he will never stop me."
"You seem desperate to leave me. But the consequence will be very nasty. I am warning you now, Abigail. Beautiful face and without support, the world will tear you apart," David tried to frighten her with his words. He didn't want to say it though, but he did like Abigail. For such a minor mistake of his that could be easily disregarded, he didn't like Abigail to leave him for that.
"You are also a part of this world with whom I am scared to live. I'll manage, David. Hope our paths never cross. Bye," Abigail smiled in the end and stood up, but David was first enough to grab her hand. He was frustrated because he had never seen Abigail so stubborn. He didn't like it at all.
"Leave my hand, otherwise, I'm going to yell here, will not be good for your image," Abigail threatened him about his image. Because David was a big businessman and his family was very famous. If all this went into the media, then he would be the one who would suffer the most.
"Since when have you learned to threaten? Anyway, one thing put it in your ears: you are mine and will be mine only." David looked at Abigail as his grip on her wrists began to ache. She shrieked, shedding no tears. Because to her, an unknown was not worth her precious tears. And at that very moment, David let go of her hand in a jerk. Giving one last glare, he made his way out of the Cafe.
Abigail slumped back in her seat, and let her head rest on the table, while tears gushed out even after trying hard to hold back. Three years ago, her parents passed away in a car accident and left her in pieces. After a lot of hard work, she had brought her life on a normal path, but now everything was shattered again.
Abigail was about to leave the cafe when a waitress suddenly showed up to talk to her, which she was unprepared for. Abigail smiled and said sorry for not ordering anything, not because she didn't have money, but because she was in no mood to order anything for eating.
"It's alright. I am sorry to overhear you and your boyfriend. You did great. You are way too beautiful and kind than him. I know you will get someone great to love you and value you," the waitress said, who seemed touched by Abigail. Why didn't she!! when Abigail was so pretty and kind. How could someone have the heart to hurt her?
"Thank you," Abigail said and left the cafe. She decided to go to her office to collect a few things regarding her next project. Being an editor of a small company, she had earned fame and money. Today she took leave to talk to David and sorted out her distressed life. She was happy that she did.
Her car broke down the last two days, so she had to hail a cab to reach her office.
She was in a very down mood and didn't feel like saying or doing anything, yet she still had things to finish today for tomorrow's presentation. She went to her cabin, making no noise, pretending to be invisible to everyone so that no one would come to talk to her.
Her well-managed table contained four unfinished documents for which she had come. Once checked, she opened her bag to put them inside, and at that moment; she heard a knock on her glass door.
It was her boss, Ms.Juli. She straightened herself, leaving her bag on the table. She stood a little away from her desk when her boss entered.
"Good afternoon, boss. I am here for these files, will take all these home and complete them tonight," said Abigail with a polite smile. However, Ms. Juli could see something must happen to Abigail because her eyes were moist and red.
And this put her in a dilemma because what she was about to say would probably break Abigail's heart even more.
"Abigail, I-I," Ms. Juli hesitated because she wasn't going to do right with her.
She had no idea how she would speak up, but someone tied her hands. Either she had to choose Abigail or her company.
"Is there anything troubling you, Boss?" Asked Abigail when she saw Ms.Juli's bugged face.
"Abigail, I am sorry. You can't work for this company. You are no longer needed," Ms. Juli said in a deadpan voice, putting a bank cheque on the table for Abigail. Ms.Juli did not want to be cruel further, hence she turned to leave but heard Abigail say, "May I know why?"
Ms. Juli didn't come prepared to answer this question, which was why she felt her stumble feet. Abigail was the backbone of her company and earned multiple awards for her achievement. But she could do absolutely nothing except break her heart.
"I need a fresh mind that will think differently, sitting at your place. Don't ask me anything. My feet are out of my shoes. Thank you for everything. I wish you success in your future," said Ms.Juli with her back to Abigail as she didn't dare to meet her eyes. She pushed the glass door and left in haste.
