Chapter 1 Summer Break
It was a warm summer day, Gabriella took her son outside to swim. It was the end of June and the first week of summer break. Her 8 year old son Benjamin was enjoying swimming and showing off his pool tricks. Gabby sat by the pool keeping watch on Benjamin as he swam. It was a quiet day in the neighborhood of Damar. People mowing the lawn, walking their dogs, and the giggles of Benjamin were the only sounds filling the air. Gabby reclined and stretched out her long legs on the lounge chair closest to the pool. The bright hot sun beamed down on her pinkish soft sunkissed skin.
The sunscreen that covered her slim athletic body glistened as the sweat wicked through her tank top. Her golden blonde hair seemed even more blond in the bright blinding sunlight. She was tired and had many other responsibilities that should be tended to in the house. However, Benjamin was not allowing her to complete anything due to his excitement that being off of school for the next 12 weeks. Gabby had the day off because she was still trying to find affordable child care. She had it all planned that her neighbor was going to watch him while she was at work throughout the summer but earlier that week her neighbor was in a car accident and was unable to help her out until her cast came off. Gabby was deep in thought when her cell phone vibrated in her back pocket she pulled it out and immediately a lump formed in her throat. She anticipated this call but was not ready, it seemed the harder she tried to prepare herself the less prepared she was.
