Kelly didn't believe his love at first. She thought she could be loved by such a brilliant man. Alexander didn't give up. After years of chasing after, Kelly is finally determined to love this persistent man. Kelly: I never think that I can be the happiest woman in the world.

Chapter 1 Want me to leave just with a thanks

"You take over my shift but don't sell the wine. There are all kinds of people there, so don't get into trouble with any beasts. You will be dead if you are captured by a brute!"

Kelly Garcia thought about what her friend Vivian Sanches' words and had only one thought.

She would be dead this time!

Kelly tried to push away the man who was hugging her to force her to drink, but she only pushed a layer of fat on his stomach. She smelled the stench of smoke, and this round-bald man made Kelly feel disgusting.

She violently raised her arm, pushed away the wine glass in the fat guy's hand, the liquor spilled on his pants.

"I'm just a waitress, not a..."

Not a prostitute.

Before she finished her words, the fat guy became furious and slapped Kelly violently.

"You are just a prostitute so don't overreach yourself! I am paid to sleep with you! And it seems that you won't obey me without some special things."

After he took out a packet of powder and poured it into the bottle, he pinched Kelly's chin and poured the bottle of wine directly into her mouth.

The cold liquor was poured into her throat. Kelly was choking and coughing constantly.

The fat guy reached out to rip her clothes.

Kelly wore short cheongsam, which was the uniform of the bar. They changed the traditional Chinese frogs to ordinary press buttons, which were much easier to unbutton.

In an instant, her charming body was shown.

The fat guy seemed very greedy.

Kelly hit him in the face with her elbow and ran outside without any hesitation when he ached.

The fat guy got up and chased after her.

"Bitch, don't you know who I am? How dare you run!"

He grabbed Kelly's hair and pulled it so hard that Kelly screamed loudly in pain and fell backward.

She was kind of hopeless.

"So, who are you?" She heard a pleasant voice.

Kelly turned back and saw a man in a black windbreaker standing a step away. He was tall and handsome.

He stared at Kelly like a hawk with his extremely gorgeous eyes. When he saw the hand at Kelly's waist, he seemed to be angry.

The man grabbed the fat guy's shoulder, and the fat guy suddenly felt as if his shoulder was about to be dislocated and he was unable to exert any strength.

Kelly's waist was loosened and got away from the fat guy.

Before she could leave, she was pulled into a firm embrace.

She smelled the pleasant odor instantly and felt like smelling it somewhere. It made Kelly extraordinarily relieved.

The man's voice sounded overhead, "Which hand did he touch you with?"

Kelly was stunned.

Before she could speak, she heard a frightening howl.

Kelly wanted to turn back, but the man stopped her, "Don't look."

After a howl and a racket.

"Mr. Lewis, it's been resolved."

Kelly couldn't help but turn around and see the fat guy fall to the ground. His arms were curled in a weird manner but he was still screaming.

She couldn't help but shiver.

She looked up and saw the man's nice jawline and slightly pressed lips, which made him determined and serious.

He suddenly lowered his head to meet Kelly's gaze, seemingly smiling, "How do you plan to repay me?"

"Thank you very much, sir, thank you..."

Her lips were kissed before she finished her words.

The man's slender fingers were dry and warm and he rubbed over Kelly's lips.

"With just a thanks, you want me to leave?" The man was smiling lightly with some affection.

Kelly was stunned, and then she understood.

This person was also a gangster.

She just got rid of one bastard but was captured by another.

Kelly had wanted to be thankful, but she quickly regained consciousness.

She wanted to push the man away, but he didn't move at all. Instead, she took a few steps away.

Kelly clenched her fists and seemed very anxious. She stared at the man in front of her with her amber eyes in detachment and defensiveness.

The man laughed lightly, "What? That's not what you were doing when you gave yourself to me."

"I didn't give myself to you. It was because you were standing in my way. A good...good person never gets in the way!"

It was known that there was only a saying "A good dog never gets in the way".

The man raised his eyebrows, knowing that Kelly was satirizing him in a euphemism.

"If I hadn't helped you, what do you think would have happened to you?"

The man stepped forward and Kelly couldn't retreat.

She leaned against the wall, trying her best to avoid the man and her beautiful eyes were rolling.

She was thinking about how to escape.

The man thought she was interesting. She was a rabbit with hidden teeth, who looked docile and harmless, but if she had no other choices, she would bite people.

He stopped.

Kelly sighed with relief.

In the next second, the man raised his hand, touching her boobs.

My stepmother sold me like a piece of inventory to a man known for breaking people just to plug the financial crater my father left behind. I was delivered to the Morton estate in the middle of a freezing storm, stripped of my phone, and told that if I didn't make myself useful, my senile grandfather would be evicted from his care facility by noon. The master of the house, Adonis Morton IV, was a monster living in a silent mausoleum, driven to the brink of madness by a sensory condition that turned every sound into a physical assault. When I was forced into his suite to serve him, he didn't see a human being; he saw a source of agony. In a fit of animalistic rage, he pinned me to the wall and nearly strangled me to death just for the sound of a shattering teacup. I only survived by using my grandfather’s secret herbal blends and pressure-point therapy to force his overactive nervous system into a drugged sleep. But saving him was my greatest mistake. Instead of letting me go, Adonis moved me into a guest suite connected to his own bedroom by a hidden door. He didn't just want me as a servant; he needed me as a human white-noise machine to drown out the demons in his head. The nightmare deepened when he took the promissory note that defined my freedom and tore it into confetti. By destroying the debt, he destroyed my exit strategy. He replaced my maid’s uniform with a silver silk dress that clung to my skin but did nothing to hide the dark, ugly bruises his fingers had left on my neck. He branded me as his "primary care associate," a title that was nothing more than a gilded cage. I felt a sickening sense of injustice as he forced me to sign a contract that banned me from contacting other men and required me to sleep wherever he slept. He looked at me with a possessive heat, calling me his "medication" rather than a woman. My family had sold my body, but Adonis Morton was intent on owning my very presence, using my grandfather’s medical bills as a leash to keep me within twenty feet of him at all times. Standing in a neglected greenhouse with mud staining my expensive silk, I realized I was no longer a victim waiting for rescue. If I was going to be his medication, I would learn how to be his cure—or his undoing. I began clearing the weeds with a cold, calculated frenzy, determined to turn this prison into my laboratory. He thinks he has trapped a helpless girl, but I am going to pry open the cracks in his stone walls until his entire world comes crashing down.

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.

I was at my own engagement party at the Sterling estate when the world started tilting. Victoria Sterling, my future mother-in-law, smiled coldly as she watched me struggle with a cup of tea that had been drugged to ruin me. Before I could find my fiancé, Ryan, a waiter dragged me into the forbidden West Wing and locked me in a room with Julian Sterling, the family’s "fallen titan" who had been confined to a wheelchair for years. The door burst open to a frenzy of camera flashes and theatrical screams. Victoria framed me as a seductress caught in the act, and Ryan didn't even try to listen to my pleas, calling me "cheap leftovers" before walking away with his pregnant mistress. When I turned to my own family for help, my father signed a document severing our relationship for a five-million-dollar payout from Julian. They traded me like a commodity without a second thought. I didn't understand why my own parents were so eager to sell me, or how Ryan could look at me with such disgust after promising me forever. I was a sacrifice, a pawn used to protect the family's offshore accounts, and I couldn't fathom how every person I loved had a price tag for my destruction. With nowhere left to go, I married Julian in a bleak ceremony at City Hall. He slid a heavy diamond onto my finger and whispered, "We have a war to start." That night, inside his secret penthouse, I watched the paralyzed man stand up from his wheelchair and activate a screen filled with the Sterling family's darkest secrets. The execution had officially begun.
