Chapter 1 Introduction

Samantha couldn't enjoy her sleep as her crazy friends kept on playing loud music.

She kept on tossing around, and when she couldn't take it anymore, she opened her eyes and sat up.

"Are you girls crazy??!" She yelled, and the three girls laughed.

"As if you're different." Stella said, and raised the volume of the music.

"Won't you get ready for school??" Selena asked, and Samantha rolled her eyes.

"What about you??" She asked, getting off the bed slowly.

"We're ready. We only need to change our dresses, we were waiting for you to also get ready before we put on our uniforms." Selena replied.

Samantha walked sluggishly to the bathroom, and immediately she opened the door to enter, pänts of different colors started falling on her.

She got hold of one and took a close look at it. She realized that it's a pänt, and threw it out.

"Are you girls out of your mind?! How could you put your stinky pänts here??!" She yelled, and the girls started laughing.

"That's the punishment for waking up late. Come on go inside now and take a quick bath." Sophie said.

"Gösh! Y'all will pay for this." Samantha said while closing the door behind.

CROWN STARS COLLEGE**

Shouts and screams filled the air as The 'S' Stars made their entry into the school compound.

Girls wish to be like them, boys wish to have them as their girlfriends. The shouts increased as Sophie smiled and wave her hand at them.

A girl walked past them in a hurry, stepping on Samantha's foot unknowingly.

"Hey! Come back here!" Samantha yelled, and the girl turned back, and walked back to them.

"Do you not know that you stepped on me??" Samantha asked, and the girl faced down. She was already trembling.

"Chusuanmitda. (I'm sorry)" The girl said, and bowed.

"Sorry won't do... Stella, pass me the handkerchief." Samantha said, and Stella handed her the handkerchief. She threw it at the girl's face.

"Wipe off the dirt." She said with her arms akimbo.

"Uh??"

"Are you deaf?? I said wipe it off!" Samantha yelled, and the girl go down on her knees. She started wiping the dirt off Samantha's shoe as tears trickled down from her eyes.

"Please let her go. She have somewhere to go urgently." Yoona, the girl's friend said, and Samantha glared at her.

"Will you stay quiet or you want me to shut that stinky mouth of yours for you??" She said rudely, and Yoona stepped back.

When the girl was done, she stood up and stretched the handkerchief to Samantha.

"You can keep it, because I can't use it anymore." Samantha said, and walked away. Selena and Stella also followed.

Sophie walked closer to the girl, and smiled at her.

"I apologize on her behalf, please forgive her." Sophie said, and the girl nodded.

"Do you really have somewhere important to go??" She asked.

"Yes, but I can't go again. They won't allow me in if I go now." The girl replied sadly.

"Oh! I'm really sorry about that... but can I know where you're going?? I might be of help." Sophie said.

"I want to go and register for the 'Face of S-WAY', but the time for registration is over." The girl replied, and Sophie pouted. She felt pity for her.

"But why didn't you register for it earlier??" Sophie asked, and the girl sighed.

"I just got the money for registration this morning."

"Oh!... Anyways, I guess you'll get registered." Sophie said, and the girl raised a brow.

"What do you mean??" She asked Sophie.

"What's your name??" Sophie asked, ignoring her question.

"Han Ju-rheong." The girl replied, and Sophie brought out her phone. She dialed a number, and the person answered almost immediately.

"Sophie Park on the line." She said.

"Oh! Miss Sophie, how may I help you?? Do you have some work for me??" The person asked over the phone.

"Not really. Erm... please I'd like you to help me to register a girl for the Face of S-WAY." Sophie said.

"Oh! But the registration is over." The person said.

"I know. Please do this for me." Sophie said, and the person sighed.

"Alright. What's her name??"

"Han Ju-rheong."

"Okay. Tell her to come right away." The person said, and Sophie smiled.

"Alright. Thank you so much Ms Nam." She said, and hung up.

"You'll be allowed in now... go." She said to Ju-rheong , who only stared at her like a moron.

"How did you do it??" Ju-rheong asked, and Sophie smiled.

"I only made a call." She said, and Ju-rheong shook her head.

"That's not what I mean."

"Oh! Actually, my dad is the owner of S-Way, so I can do as I please." Sophie said with a smile and Ju-rheong also smiled.

"Wow! Thank you so much. I'm really grateful." Ju-rheong said with a smile.

"Will you keep on standing there until you miss the chance to be registered again??" Sophie asked, and Ju-rheong dashed out of the premises.

Sophie couldn't stop smiling.

"Kamsanmitda Sophie Sunbae (Thank you Senior Sophie)." Yoona said, and Sophie faced her.

"It's a pleasure... your name is??"

"Yoona... Min Yoona."

"Okay. I gotta go now bye." Sophie said and walked away.

The 'S' stars were taking a stroll in the school compound as they chat.

"Truth been told, Sophie performed better than you." Selena said, referring to Stella who sneered.

"But I did the rapping part which is considered to be the hardest part. So how come she did better than me??" Stella asked.

"The rapping part is the hardest truly as you say, but still, she's better than you." Selena said.

"That's your problem. I know you don't like me." Stella said, and Selena chuckled.

"Come on, who said I don't like you??" Selena asked as she crossed her arm round Stella's neck.

"You two are like cat and rat." Sophie said, while smiling.

"Does any of you---"

"Selena!" A male voice interrupted Samantha, and they turned to see who it is.

The guy walked up to them, and stopped right in front of Selena.

"Hi... I'm sorry for disturbing you. I'm Ha Jun." He said with a smile, as he breathed randomly.

"So??" Selena asked, and Ha Jun cleared his throat.

"Actually, I'd like to talk to you in private." Ha Jun said, and the girls shared a look.

"Like... my friends should leave??" Selena asked, and Ha Jun nodded.

"Kind of." He said.

"I'm sorry, that won't be able to work. If you have anything to say, say it. They're my friends. There's no need for them to leave." Selena said.

Ha Jun sighed, and scratched his head, while looking down shyly.

"Are you ready to talk or I should go??" Selena asked, and Ha Jun shook his head.

"Actually, the thing is that... I'm in love with you Selena, and I'll be glad if you accept to be my girlfriend. Please Selena, don't say no." Ha Jun said, and the girls shared a look before bursting out laughing.

"Ha Jun or whatever your name is, are you aware of your foolishness??" Selena asked, and Ha Jun raised a brow.

"What do you mean??" He asked.

"How dare you come to my presence and still have the guts to tell me about your stupid feelings??!" Selena half-yelled, and Ha Jun lowered his gaze, feeling embarrassed.

"Never show your dämned face in my presence again, do you get that?!... Now get lost!" Selena said, and Ha Jun walked away shyly.

"Look at him, brainless maniac." Selena said as they watched him leaves.

"Yük! He disgust me." Samantha said, and they continued walking.

A black car drove in and parked at the parking lot. A woman in her late thirties alighted from the driver's side, and used her glasses. She closed the car door, waited for some minutes, expecting her son to also come out of the car but he refused.

"Will you come out now or you want me to come drag you down??" She half-yelled, and the guy groaned before alighting from the car.

"I really don't like this school. Please take me back to Sevit College." He groaned while closing the car door.

"Your father and I already made our final decision. You're not going back to Sevit College... this college is the best, and you know I want the best for you. Please just accept to stay." The woman said.

"I'm no more a kid mum. You and dad should stop deciding for me. I'm old enough to live my life the way I want. Jebal Eomma (Please Mum), leave me alone." The guy said, and started walking away.

The woman sighed as she watched him leave.

"Go straight to the lecturer's office. They'll let you know everything you need to know. I've made preparations for your new hostel room, just go there and collect the key... Be a good boy. Mum is leaving!" The woman shouted after him, but he pretended not to hear as he continued walking with his two hands in his pockets.

The woman sighed again before entering her car.

"I hope he understands soon. All this is for his safety." She said as she drove out of the school premises.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.
