"Hurry Alpha Jackson" My beta Matthew yelled "We are under attack"
I jumped out from behind my desk. Those damn rogues again. I was sick and tired of them attacking my pack. Last week we had eliminated 17 of them but they just kept coming.
Rushing down the stairs I shifted into my wolf before I was even out the door. I mind linked my warriors. "This time we take hostages" I said. I wanted to interrogate and torture as many as I could.
I was known in the west to be brutal. My pack Blue Moon was one of the strongest packs in the area. That's why I couldn't believe these rogues keep attacking us. Something wasn't right. "Yes Alpha" they mind linked back. I could feel through the link that my men had the upper hand.
I raced into the forest and found a bunch of rogue wolves dead. My men were always a step ahead. I had the best warriors. Off to the side it looked like about 12 wolves were knocked out. Still breathing they were the ones that are going to wish for death once I am done with them in my dungeons. Beside the dead and the unconscious it seemed like the rest of them had retreated. I snarled as my wolf wanted to fight. My warriors dragged the wounded and unconscious wolves back to my dungeons. All my people were accounted for. No injuries. Thank god.
"We will get to the bottom of this" I told my men. "No one attacks Blue Moon and gets away with it" "Alpha Jackson I will inform you when they wake up" Beta Matthews answered. I nodded my head. "I will be waiting". I stormed off back to my pack house. My wolf was bouncing around like crazy. He wanted me to shift again but I closed him off in the back of my mind.
I was 23 years old and had been the Alpha for the past 2 years since I turned 21. My father Alpha John Lament stepped down to spend time with my mother. They were the example of pure love and soul mates. He had ruled the pack for 25 years and was thrilled the day I turned 21 so he could hand the pack over to me. I had been ready. The only thing was that I was yet to find my mate. Most of my friends were now mated. I had a girlfriend Katrina but she wasn't my mate. She kept asking me to mark her and make her Luna. If I don't find my mate in the next year and she doesn't either I probably will end up marking her.
We had been together since we were 16. When I turned 17 and shifted for the first time I was disappointed that we weren't mates. Her father had been my fathers Beta the whole time he had been Alpha. Kat and I had grown up together. We were best friends but unfortunately the Moon Goddess had different plans for us. We both hugged and cried when we found out we weren't mates. So if my true mate doesn't show up in the next 12 months I will make Kat my Luna.
My wolf didn't like this idea. He wanted his true mate. But I had been amongst all the packs in the west coast and North Coasts. And I still hadn't found her. Maybe she had died for all I know. I can't wait around forever. My pack needed a Luna. And Kat and I had a bond.
