Perseus, 21, a boy freshly out of grad college, meets Ana, 19, a sarcastic and lonely girl with an attitude that says, "I don't take no one's shit." Completely mesmerised by her at the very first sight of her, Perseus navigates his way to make her his forever, oblivious to the fact that they both share a certain history together. "You believe it or not, Ana, but you are mine. You belong to me from the moment I saw you, there walking your dog who was bigger than your size." Says Perseus. But she does not even blink at him. "It's Arachne." Comes her oblivious and nonchalant reply before she walks away. "What?" Perseus questions himself in a whisper while standing there, stupefied. **The cover photo Belongs to me.**

Chapter 1 Prologue: Not all are roses!

(A/N: This novel is original and completely fictitious. All the characters in here are born of my imagination. Any resemblance to real name, place or events is purely coincidental. Enjoy reading!)

Roses. They are beautiful, in every colour that they are available. They are the perfect flowers to profess your undying love to someone. Then why is it that it never occurred to her mind to get those flowers instead? Why has her mind not conjured up that while planning all this? She wonders as she let her hand, that is holding the bunch of hydrangea, fall to her side limply when he does nothing to accept them. Maybe, it is because they are not roses. When all the other girls, her age, her seniors, even her juniors give him those beautiful, colorful roses, he takes them and even kisses them on their cheeks or sometimes, on their lips if he is pleased by them and spends time with them. She has seen them, she has seen them all. And now, there is one more thing that bothers her other than the flowers. Her looks. She is a bit overweight, maybe a little too much. Her breasts are spilling out of her regular bra. Her abdomen is not at all flat. Her inner thighs touch together. However, she is really hoping that her countless flaws are well covered by the black coloured cardigan that she is wearing. But how could she have forced her double chin in possibly? She could only wish for it to go unnoticed by him. And it seems like it's working. As he has even spared a glance at her second time for the last few minutes as she stands in front of him. Well, it looks like it is one of her those days when luck leaves her side. What can she say? There are such days in her life. After all, not all are roses!

"I'm sorry!" She squeakilymutters before turning around to leave, yet he does not look up from his phone screen. Feeling dejected, she begins walking away when all so sudden, he asks out, "What is your name?"

Flustered, she says, "Mirabilis" too quickly before walking off hastily in the direction of girls' washroom. Leaning against the wall, she breathes heavily as a smile plasters itself onto her face. Perseus, her crush, has just asked for her name! She thinks as she clutches the flowers to her chest. A blush creeping up to her cheeks and neck.

I received a pornographic video. "Do you like this?" The man speaking in the video is my husband, Mark, whom I haven't seen for several months. He is naked, his shirt and pants scattered on the ground, thrusting forcefully on a woman whose face I can't see, her plump and round breasts bouncing vigorously. I can clearly hear the slapping sounds in the video, mixed with lustful moans and grunts. "Yes, yes, fuck me hard, baby," the woman screams ecstatically in response. "You naughty girl!" Mark stands up and flips her over, slapping her buttocks as he speaks. "Stick your ass up!" The woman giggles, turns around, sways her buttocks, and kneels on the bed. I feel like someone has poured a bucket of ice water on my head. It's bad enough that my husband is having an affair, but what's worse is that the other woman is my own sister, Bella. ************************************************************************************************************************ “I want to get a divorce, Mark,” I repeated myself in case he didn't hear me the first time—even though I knew he'd heard me clearly. He stared at me with a frown before answering coldly, "It's not up to you! I'm very busy, don't waste my time with such boring topics, or try to attract my attention!" The last thing I was going to do was argue or bicker with him. "I will have the lawyer send you the divorce agreement," was all I said, as calmly as I could muster. He didn't even say another word after that and just went through the door he'd been standing in front of, slamming it harshly behind him. My eyes lingered on the knob of the door a bit absentmindedly before I pulled the wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the table. I grabbed my suitcase, which I'd already had my things packed in and headed out of the house.
