Chapter 1 PILOT.

The city stood as a sprawling behemoth of glass and steel, its shimmering skyscrapers reflecting the golden hues of the setting sun. People hurried along the bustling streets, lost in their own worlds, unaware of the darkness that was about to descend upon them. Among the throngs of urbanites, Sarah moved with purpose, her steps echoing the rhythm of a city perpetually in motion.Sarah was a scientist, a brilliant mind amidst the chaos, working diligently at a research facility tucked away in the heart of the metropolis.

Her days were consumed by lab experiments and data analysis, but an air of unease had settled over the city, permeating even the sterile walls of the facility. Rumors whispered through the corridors, tales of a new and deadly plague that seemed to creep insidiously through the very fabric of the urban landscape.

As Sarah adjusted her lab coat and peered through the large glass windows of the facility, she watched as masked medical personnel rushed to tend to the afflicted. Pale faces, haunted eyes, and gurneys bearing lifeless forms painted a grim picture of the looming crisis. The city's heartbeat seemed to falter, overshadowed by the ominous pulse of uncertainty.

One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the city streets, Sarah found herself gazing out of her laboratory window. She absentmindedly stirred a solution in a petri dish, her mind wandering to the growing sense of dread that had settled within her. She couldn't ignore the signs any longer.

A hesitant knock on the door drew her attention. Mark, a fellow scientist and her friend, stood in the doorway, his expression a mix of worry and urgency. "Sarah," he said in a hushed tone, "we need to talk." Their conversation took place in a dimly lit corner of the lab, away from prying eyes and listening ears. Mark's words were laced with a gravity that matched the situation. He spoke of rumors that went beyond the plague itself, whispers of a sinister conspiracy that reached into the very heart of their research facility. Sarah's heart raced as Mark revealed his suspicions. The research facility, the very place they had devoted their careers to, might be involved in the creation and release of the deadly pathogen. The gravity of the revelation settled upon them like a suffocating shroud, threatening to unravel the fabric of their reality.

As the city lights outside cast eerie glows through the lab windows, Sarah's mind raced. The urban landscape that had once been a symbol of progress now felt like a tangled web of secrets and shadows. And so, amidst the urban chaos, a seed of uncertainty was planted, setting the stage for a horror that would push Sarah and Mark to the limits of their resolve and ingenuity.
