Chapter 1 Depression
The next morning, she woke up, took a bath and still no messages from Frank.
This went on for days, days into weeks, weeks into months.
Five months passed by and Mina got depressed,
She lost faith in life. She doesn't eat sometimes, just laying on her bed crying.
She doesn't pick Deena's calls nor reply to her texts.
The doorbell rang, "who could it be?", Mina asked herself.
She walked lazily to the door and opened it, shock and guilt filled her and she lowered her head,
She bit her lower lip hard and tears ran down her cheeks, Deena seeing her friend crying felt bad and she hugged her.
Mina hugged her back tightly and she cried more.
She had missed her So much, her best friend but due to depression she didn't realize it until she's hugging her now.
"Am sorry, am sorry" she kept saying.
"It's ok, am cool, even though I felt bad when you stopping answering my calls and texts but I told myself I can't be selfish and you also need some space"
Deena said with a sad face.
"Am sorry" Mina apologized.
" It's ok i'm cool, let's just forget everything", Deena said with a smile on her face.
Mina forced a smile on her face, it's been a long time since
she smiled and even though Deena is here, she's still feeling So empty but she won't let Deena know about it, After all she had hurt her So much,
so she will make it up to her.
Helping Deena carry her luggage into her room, Deena slump on to her bed and screamed,
"Oh how I miss home, I am finally here".
"I will get something for you to eat and go take a shower,"
Mina said with a forced smile and dashed out of the room.
Deena smiled confusedly and then went to the washroom. Before going to the kitchen Mina decided to check her phone,
Maybe Frank sent a message but there was nothing like that when she checked.
Tears trickled down her face as she walked into the kitchen.
"Five months of my life have been wasted .
I don't know what happiness is and I've even forgotten the last time I smiled genuinely.
My world has become dark and I am surrounded by pain, loneliness, tears and sorrow, that's all.
I wish I could go back in time to the day I met you so that I would walk away from you because it would have saved me So much pain".
Mina said to herself as she prepared noodles for Deena. Upon hearing Deena's footsteps towards the kitchen,
Mina wiped her tears quickly.
" Hey Deena, you are here".
Mina said trying her best to look normal.
"Yh I am", Deena replied.
"Your food is ready, just dig in", Mina said.
"Ok babe" Deena said as she jumped on the food,
"OMG Mina you are the best cook in the world,
Where did you learn how to cook from?. Truth be told this is the best" Deena continued praising Mina as she ate.
PRESENT
Tears trickled down Mina's face after remembering everything.
It's been five years now but she hasn't heard from Frank and what surprises her the most is that even after everything that has happened between them,
even after all the pain Frank has caused her,
she still loves him very much and she told herself that if he comes back and apologize,
she will forgive him. She decided to take a shower after which she will make breakfast.
She took a shower and wore a black jeans trouser with bare shoulder crop top,
She tied her hair in a bun and applied lip gloss.
This is the first time in these five years that she has dressed up nicely.
She used to leave her hair uncombed and wore big t-shirts.
She made coffee and drunk after which she was pressing her phone when she heard the doorbell rang, walking to the door,
she opened it. Deena stared at her friend with wonder in her eyes, she cupped her cheeks and asked," Mina is everything fine??"
"Did you speak to Frank?"
" No," Mina replied.
"Why did you ask?"
" it's because it's been five years now since I saw you dress nicely,
you even combed your hair" Deena replied.
"Well, it's nothing, I just decided to," Mina replied.
"So have you moved on?" Deena asked with hope shining in her brown eyes.
"Stop asking So many questions and come inside, I hope you don't intend to make us talk outside, No I haven't moved on,
Frank will come back to me", Mina said as she dragged Deena into their two bedroom apartment.
And Deena sighed heavily.
When she saw Mina dressed up, she thought she had moved on but she was wrong,
she knew Frank was never coming back but how would she explain this to her Mina.
Sitting on the sofa,
Mina gave Deena a glass of water which she gulped down immediately. Deena stood up
and held Mina's hand making her stand as well after which she twirled her around smiling widely.
"What's it Deena??"Mina asked.
"Guess what?" Deena said with a smile.
"No guesses and yes am not interested in any of your silly game",
Mina said while she sat.
"Ok fine, it's not silly. You know the company I am working for right??"

"i am not interested and I don't want to meet anyone", she said.

"Consider it anything you want,
What Matters is you are going" Deena said with a smile while dragging Mina to her room.
"Get dressed", Deena said as she pushed Mina into her room and slumped the door shut.
Mina went to take a shower after which she started to dress.
