Lorelei's heart hammered fast as she rushed towards the exit of the restaurant's place. She glanced at her back, never wanting to stop as she clutched at the strap of her bag. "Why is he here?" It was what she kept on asking herself the moment she saw the familiar man standing in front of her. "Lorelei!" the man spoke behind her in a low, firm voice. "Lorelei!" "No..no..don't look back, just keep on running." she told herself. The sky was already dark when she successfully came out of the hotel. She was about to continue walking towards the road when she realized that she brought her car, making her turn towards the small door leading to the parking lot. Why did she even go here? She could just ignore her father's orders! If she didn't come out then shed never see this man again! "Lorelei! I said we need to talk!" a hand stopped her from walking and turned her around. "Why would you keep on running away from me, huh?" Dark brown eyes, thick brows, a square, chiseled jawline, and straight nose one would wish to have. It was the same features she had longed to see for months, and now he was here in front of her, standing as casual as he could be like they were nothing but old friends...as though he was chasing after her just so they would catch up. "Excuse me? W-who are you?" she narrowed her eyes. Anger and impatience were evident in the man's eyes when she gazed at him. She cursed in her head. Why, of all her flings, does she have to meet this man? She should've just stayed inside her house! "What?" he let out a peal of hysterical laughter, his grip on her arm tightened as he pulled her closer. "After months of chasing after you, you will tell me that you don't know me?" "I don't know what you are saying! Let me go or I will call the police!" Lei threatened, but the man in front of her seemed so persistent that he did nothing but shake his head. "Not until you talk to me, Lorelei. We have so many things to talk about!" "I don't even know you, Mister! Guard!" she cried for help, glancing at the empty parking lot. Her heart pounded against her chest. Heat formed at the corners of her eyes as she tried to depart from the man's hold. Just seeing him right now already felt like her heart would crush into pieces, and he even dared to demand her time for a talk? Was he kidding her? No woman would ever try to be with him again if she knew she'd be a wreck! Or not for her, at least. Now that she learned how rotten he is, the only thing Lei wanted to do was to avoid him and live her life alone. "Stop acting like a different person, Lei! What is this? What happened to you?!" his brows furrowed, his hands reached for her shoulders as he crouched. The warmth and the electrifying feeling came into Lei's skin the moment the man held her. It was something familiar, yet foreign. If she was still the same person months ago, she would probably prefer to hug him and never talk to anything. She would prefer to just embrace him and forgive him even when he was not sorry. But this person..this man wrecked her more than what she could imagine. Lei moved her shoulders, her hand reaching out to him as she removed those from her frail body. "Don't touch me, I don't like other people holding me" she uttered in the coldest voice she had. The man, on the other hand, couldn't understand anything. He was just enjoying his stay at one of his business partner's wedding, only to be surprised by the sudden appearance of the woman he had been looking for for months. Lorelei Heymans, his girlfriend, was in front of him. Or she wasn't. Because the woman that he loved was someone sweet. The Lorelei in front of him right now stood like a stranger, not just because of the way she dressed but the tone and the expression he kept on seeing through her. It was as if his mere appearance annoyed the hell out of her. Lorelei Heymans smirked. Crossing her arms, she lifted her chin high, glancing at the man with the proudest look she had, even when she was already breaking in the inside. "l already told you, Mister. I wasn't the person you were looking for" she answered and turned her back to the man. "No" the man held her arm again. "You are still my girlfriend, Lorelei. We are still not done talking!" his voice thundered. "What else should we talk about, huh? We are done!" she yelled back, her eyes turning into slits as she groaned. What good can it do if she keeps on hiding from him, anyway? She had done it for several months and she grew tired of it. "We haven't seen each other and you are telling me we are done? And what is this? Why are you wearing this dress?" he held on to the hem of her short, white body-hugging dress, his eyes filled with judgment. Lorelei furrowed her brows, finding his words ridiculous. "You are not like this! I was just gone for-" "Don't expect that everything that I do is related to you, Griffin" Lorele

Chapter 1 ✨The Party Girl✨

✨

"Lorelei!"

She rolled her eyes when she heard the

familiar irritating voice of a man she

had been avoiding for weeks.

Lorelei Heymans hurriedly picked all

the scattered things on her table, put

them inside her bag, and hung the

strap on her shoulders. Desperate to

avoid the man, Lei drags her feet out of

the noisy classroom.

Why was he so desperate? She asked

herself as she hastily walked towards

the parking lot, desperate to escape

from the owner of that irritating voice.

Just when she thought she'd

successfully jump inside her car, a

sweaty huge hand forcibly pulled her arm.

"What the hell do you want again?" Lei

huffed in anger and tried to remove his

grip.

With his crimson-colored face and jaw

clenching tightly, Dom Arizala refused

to let her go.

"Why are you avoiding me? Did I do

something wrong?" He tilted his head

and inched closer to the lady.

"I've been calling you for days but you are unresponsive! You are also avoiding me on campus!" Lorelei slowly unclasps his fingers on her delicate skin and crosses her arms.

"Isn't it obvious?" she sarcastically

asked and leaned her bag against the

car door.

Dom Arizala was one of her persistent

suitors. She was never interested in the

thought of dating this man, but just last

week when she got drunk, she

accidentally kissed him.

She didn't know anything after that

night, she couldn't even remember that

specific part! She just woke up beside

him, wearing his oversized shirt with

her smudged makeup and headache.

If only the man didn't act like a clingy

boyfriend, she'd never find out that

something happened between them

and now, he was chasing after her.

"I don't want to talk to you anymore,

Dom!" She uttered in a loud voice,

emphasizing every word to make him

understand.

"What? l thought we were fine! Was it

because of Nimfa? It was-" Lei

interrupted his words with her mocking

laughter. She stood straight and arched

her brow as she stared at the man.

Can't he be smarter than what he is?

This man really thought that she liked

him!

"l am not interested in what's going on

with you and Nimfa. If you want to date

her then it would be better! Just stop

chasing after me!" She yelled and was about to open her car when the man

blocked her way.

"But I am your boyfriend! Why would I

stop chasing when we have a problem

to solve?"

The hilarious look on the guy's face made Lei stifle her laughter.

This man..when does he plan to end

his dumbness? Lei asked herself and

heaved a deep sigh, as though she was

exhausted from talking to this man.

"l am not your girlfriend, Dom," she said

in a serious voice. Her eyes turned into

slits, and if this man would still insist

that they were dating, she didn't know

what she'd do.

Lei saw how the man's already pissed

face turned into something darker. She

could see from Dom's eyes that he was

perplexed and stunned about her

words.

"But we kissed each other that night. I

thought it was your way of saying yes

and-"

"Well, I didn't!" She yelled and glared at

him.

Dom Arizala is a famous jock on their

campus and has been chased by

different women because of his looks

and his body, but Lei couldn't help but

cringe every time she thinks of that

dirty night.

"If you don't have anything that is worth listening to then can I go? Because I am d*mn busy!" Lei opened and forcibly closed her car door, making a loud thud as she heaved an

exaggerated sigh, glancing at how the

man messed his hair and knocked at

her mirror before she drove away from

the parking lot.

"What is it?" she furrowed her brows

when she answered her phone. It was Thalia Brown, one of her closest friends

aside from Elena Carter.

"Chill there, Lei. Why are you so

grumpy?"

"Who wouldn't when some nerd chases

after me?" Lei bit her lower lip in

aggravation when she saw Dom's car

behind her.

"What? That cocky jock from the

basketball team?" Thalia laughed.

"That's your fault, anyway. Why would

you kiss a man who's dying to get your

attention?"

"Why would it be mine? Everyone

knows I don't take boyfriends seriously,

Thalia!" she uttered in a firm voice and

leaned her back when she saw the man

turned to the other side of the road.

There she thought he would follow her

til her home.

"I will just remind you, alright. Later at

10 pm in Publico Blanco" Thalia spoke

in the other line.

It was her birthday.

It had been four straight years since they started celebrating all their birthdays in a nightclub, with lights and booze in their hands.

"And please, dress according to your

role. You were just the best friend of the

celebrant!" the woman laughed,

making Lorelei shake her head as she

entered the gate of their mansion.

I wish I could;' she replied in a joking voice.

"Oh no, Lei! I am telling you, if ever you

dress more extravagant than me, I'll let

you pay for the bills!"

"You wish, I will never give you even a

penny."

***

The loud, upbeat music rang before

Lorelei's ears the moment she entered

Publico Blanco.

It was a bar owned by Elena's parents and the same place where they usually hang out every time they get bored.

Though they mostly do bar hopping, whenever they wanted to get drunk they would always choose this place because all the alcohol was discounted.

She narrowed her eyes a bit, adjusting to the flickering lights as she pushed herself to the side, trying not to get hit by the people who were busy either drinking or dancing.

"Lei!" Elena's hand waved in the air to

catch her attention. She groaned in front of them.

"Why do you always have to switch tables? Can't we occupy the same table each time we go here? It's not like we are visitors." She rolled her eyes and slumped at Elena's side.

Elena Carter was wearing a maroon

tube top short dress, while Thalia

Brown, the one who got all the curves

at the right places among the three

was wearing a black backless

shimmery dress. It was loose on the

chest part, revealing more of her skin in

her chest.

Lei ran her fingers through her hair.

"Happy birthday, b*tch," she eyed

Thalia, her brow arched as she glanced

at her face with a mocking expression.

"Shut up, Lei. Don't make me want to

call Dom and annoy the hell out of you."

"You can't stop being sarcastic, huh?"

Elena laughed.

Lei made a face and stood up. With a

smirk on her face, she opened the lid of

the Vodka and poured an amount for

three glasses.

She raised the glass on top of her head for a cheer, drank it, and forcibly put the glass down.

"Let's just party!" She announced and

went to the dancefloor, getting more

drinks by her hand as she danced with

some of their college friends.

Why did she almost forget that this is her friend's party?

And they just graduated. They all

seemed like they were so thirsty for

parties!

That was when she realized that almost

all of them were not good for her. One

thing that she had realized after

partying and kissing that jock, was to

never take a schoolmate again.

Elena and Thalia stayed at the table, drinking cups while she walked towards the center of the dancefloor, waving her hips to the beat with her eyes closed.

"Lei!" Dom approached her again when

she opened her eyes. She immediately

turned her back on him, and when she

felt that the man followed her, she

grabbed an unknown man's shoulder

and wrapped her arms around her neck, her face hiding on the man's

chest as she hid herself.

"Miss!" The man's surprised voice

called to her, trying to push her away

but she just tightened her hold.

"This would be quick, a stalker is

chasing after me" she whispered and

pushed herself closer.

In her mind, she was thanking herself

for being lucky. The man she pulled

had this addicting smell. A mixture of

alcohol, a manly perfume, and musk.

Her heart pounded as the sudden urge

to look at him grew. This man smelled

nice, and she bet he was also

handsome. It was just a great loss, that

he's one of her schoolmates.

"Lei!" she heard from the back.

"Omy-freak!" she uttered in a low voice.

Without thinking much of what she'll

do, she pulled the man down and

kissed him, her arms wrapped around

his nape, hoping that Dom would finally

take the hint that she didn't want him.

She was about to pull away from the

kiss when the man in front of her

placed his hands on her back, pulling

her close as he deepened the kiss. Her

eyes widened. The sudden increase in

her heart and the electrifying feeling

that the man sent when he held her

made her tremble.

She put her hands on his chest and

pushed him away.

"Excuse me?" She furrowed her brows

and glared at the man. The first thing

that she saw was those mesmerizing brown eyes and his swollen lips, with a

taint of her red lipstick. "Why did you

kiss me?"

Although annoyed that this might be

one of her schoolmates that would

sOon tail her around, the only thing that

comforted her right now was that he

was good-looking.

"What? You are the one who kissed me

first, Miss!"

Lorelei couldn't accept that the man

was right. She was the one who kissed

him, and she also approached himn first.

She groaned in frustration and messed

her hair.

"Whatever, I'm sorry for that. I was just

trying to escape-

"Lorelei! You're here! Come and we'll

play a game with Thalia!" Elena

suddenly stood beside her. "Oh, are you

with him? It's still early but you already

have-"

"What? No! I don't know who he is!"

Lorelei cut her off and dragged Elena

away from the man.
