"What the hell Frame!can you please go out! you're annoying!" I yelled in disgust as Unan beat him. "Khind stop it" he said softly. I continued to beat him when he suddenly pulled me and locked me in his big arms.

Married With The Engineer Chapter 1 1

CHAPTER 1

Frame's Pov

"You are about to eat, Sir," our steward politely greeted me.

"Okay" I answered briefly and closed my bedroom door again.

I hid the flower bouquet I bought before I went downstairs to eat.

"Son, you also need a wife" said mom while we were eating.

"Mom, I will. Let's just wait until she finishes studying."

"You mean you have a girlfriend?" Mama said in surprise but eventually you can see the joy on her face.

"Ye-"

"Yes you are, brother!Well, you can't approach that, eh" replied my youngest brother.

"You shut up lil brat" I said annoyed.

"Stop arguing, we are in front of grace" Papa suddenly disobeyed.

"Sorry Dad" my brother and I said at the same time.

"What do she mean you can't approach?"Mama asked confused.

"I mean I witnessed how girls chase you, so what's with this girl that you can't even approach? Who is she?" asked Mama laughing.

"Ma, She's Ate Khind!" Freya snapped again, so I looked at her intently.

"Khind? Nice name" Papa commented.

"Mom, look, I will introduce him to you, but I haven't yet, so I don't have the right yet."

"I know I know, but why can't you approach me?"

"It's not that I don't want to but Mom I'll wait until she graduates"

"What are you waiting for! No! flirt and maybe someone else will get ahead of you, then you should be really together so it won't be difficult when you get married" Mama said while wiping the table napkin.

"What's her complete name?" Papa asked then sat down properly as if interested.

this is the first time we are talking about a woman at the table.

"Khindra Aine Morales po Pa" I answered politely.

"Morales? hmmm" Mama replied then seemed to be worried about something.

"Tell us more about her" Papa said with interest.

"No, I'll tell you when we are"

"It's just me Pa, I know Ate" Freya said smiling so I widened her eyes.

When she entered my room she started friending Khind, at first I thought it was a good idea but now I'm not happy because everything is revealed because of her.

"Stop it Freya" I disobeyed him.

"You stop Frame, I wanna hear more about her" Papa asked so I was silent.

"Papa she's studying as a pilot, Bachelor in Pilot training and she's on 3rd year"

"It's the 3rd year?" Mama said in surprise.

this is what im saying they might say I am a child abuser, so I want him to graduate so no words, urgh.

"I mean nothing wrong with that, but it's still a long time before he graduates! We need Apo, right?" he said in a soft tone as he turned to dad.

"Mom" I asked.

"Mama do you want to meet her? I'll let you, Ate khind and I are friends"

"Stop Freya, I don't like that" I said annoyed.

"Yes son, I wanna meet her, then how did you know her? were you friends before?"

"No ma, but brother's room is full of pictures of-" I quickly covered his mouth and squinted.

"Frame don't do that to your sister" dad disobeyed again.

"You should let her talk, because you keep on hiding! It's good that your brother is here so that we are aware of what is happening to you" continued Papa.

"Daddy" I said weakly.

"Pa, Ma kuya's room is filled with Ate khind stolen pictures" he said excitedly.

"So when brother wants to give something to sister Khind, I'm the one who gives because brother is shy. He can't face sister Khind"

"Your son Frank is clumsy" Mama said laughing.

"Mana sayo" he continued and cried.

"Honey at least now you are still the one I choked" Papa said and looked at her tenderly.

"You guys are cheezy" I commented and my face soured.

"You guys are cheezy" I commented and my face soured.

"Anyway Freya, I'll join you to school today" Mama promised with a smile.

don't tell me she's desperately dying to meet Khind?oh hell.

"Mom, I'll take him here, please don't lead me" I said apologetically, I hope it works.

"Ah-Ah, don't be sorry it won't work"

"Mom," I grumbled.

"Ma let's go, I'm going to be late" replied Freya.

ugh this family! I'm going to bring Khind here, then I'm going to flirt with him too!

Mama and Freya quickly left the table after kissing Papa.

"Son, I want you to move or we might be forced to move" Papa said authoritatively.

What does he mean?

Papa has also left so I'm the only one at the table, Khind is a big deal for him, I mean he's also a big deal for me but I want it no rush.

I left and went to the room, I took the bouquet to give to her.

I quickly started my car and went to Freya's school where Khind studies.

I know everything, her room, her locker number except her class schedule.

When I arrived at the parking area, I couldn't deny the eyes focused on me.

this poor Frame is being used by women in San Jose.

"Engr. That's Agustin, right?"

"Shit bess, I want Engr."

"The hot"

I'm used to receiving admiration from people I meet, but I just want attention.

I saw Freya and Mama walking in the Hallway while laughing, maybe they are really going to see Khind.

I didn't follow them anymore and went to the Principal's office to talk to my Uncle to ask for the key to Khind's locker.

I have a lot of connections, first my uncle really didn't want it but I begged and begged until he agreed, I don't steal and I just put what I want to give there and sometimes I give it to Freya.

"You really don't want to talk to Ms. Morales?"

"Maybe uncle doesn't like me"

"You're just stupid, here it is, hurry up and you might catch up"

"Where is she uncle?"

"Still at the airport"

I just nodded before leaving his office, I quickly went to the locker to put the flowers I brought for Khind.

im doing this for almost 5 months, five months of being Khind's secret admirer. Am I that stupid?

Well i dont care i dont rush.

prologue Rowin "Sir," When I got out of my car, Vale immediately ran to me. But when our eyes met, he couldn't speak immediately. "Lorenzo's kids found out we were following them." It stuttered "Do we have information where they moved?" I asked him "No sir." I slammed the car door shut. "We've been looking for Lorenzo for months and now you just let him get away!" I couldn't stop my voice from rising. lorenzo is just a pawn but we have a strong lead if we catch him. The problem is that he has a lot of connections and it's easy for him to switch hiding places. "Where's Jake and the others?" I asked "Sir Jake left with the others" he answered me. "Tell Gab to try and release a Flight Ban. He will definitely try to leave the country" I ordered him. I was about to walk in but he stopped in front of me. "Sir, we have also brought Ruel's son here. What are we going to do with him?" I didn't answer him when I heard what he said and I went straight inside When I entered the Mansion, I saw a woman sobbing and wiping her tears. "Sir, he said he doesn't have any money to pay yet," Vale whispered behind me. "What the hell do you expect" I weakly promised him. I walked closer to where he was. I was expecting her to look at me. But maybe she's scared enough to see me. That's right. You should be scared, because from now on your life is going to be hard. "Your tears won't be enough as a down payment" I sat on the couch so that we faced each other. "W-What do you want me to do?" It surprised me. I avoided her eyes. I've had enough caring with other people. The more we care about their feelings the harder it gets to sacrifice them. "Since you don't have money to pay what should I do with people like you? I can't make you one of my guards and play with gun" I grinned. "Your brothers can" I saw the clenching of his palms resting on his thighs. "Just try it!" the tone of his voice rose. I lit a candle and leaned on the couch. I put one foot on my other thigh while I watched him. "I don't negotiate with someone like you" I said. "I say the things that you do. you don't refuse to them" I unleaned my back against the couch to take a close look at her face. "So going back, What should I do to you" He didn't say anything and just bowed. "Ah.." I gasped. "I remember your Dad's words" "Ruel told me, If he can't pay, you will be the one who pays for his debts. Are you worth 10 Million, Mendoza?" I didn't realize that he was already holding the glass of water in front of him and he poured it on me. "You animal!" it shouted. now i am pissed off. I saw Vale running towards us. But I signaled them to back off "You are stuck here" My jaws tightened as I spoke. "You're gonna be my slave" His eyes widened at what I said. I wiped my face and stood up to approach him. He tried to walk away but our body guards stopped him. "Being a slave, That is the payment."

"Your eyes..." I spoke up after taking the first shot. She seemed surprised when I spoke. "Why? They are mine. You need them?" she said mockingly, her voice feminine but assertive. "They are staring too much at me, wonder why?" I asked without looking at her, focusing on my second shot. "I'm a woman. Besides alcohol, what else could I be here for? Of course, a man," she replied sharply. I have to say, I commend her honesty. "I understand," I said. "So, do you like me?" I finally looked at her, and we stared at each other for a few seconds. I can say that she is beautiful and sexy. She can easily tempt other men. The way she dresses is quite similar to those girls I've seen working in a bar. "I wouldn't stare at you for long if I didn't," she arched her eyebrow. She's really feisty. "I see, bottom line it for me," she furrowed her brow at my statement, and I expected her to understand. "What?" she asked. I saw the last shot left. I downed it. She seems stronger than I thought. But I'm not drunk yet. I'm still in my right mind. I moved to the chair between us. I don't know if that was necessary, but I'm enjoying our talk. I like how curious she is right now. I like that she is paying attention to what I might say next. "What do you want?" I finally caught her gaze. I don't know what's stopping her from responding, though the answer is very obvious. "Girls in this bar used to like two things..." I said as my hand moved on its own. I didn't debate in my mind whether to touch her hair. I brushed it aside and placed it behind her ear. "Money or pleasure. Which one is it?"

I woke up in a blindingly white hotel penthouse with a throbbing headache and the taste of betrayal in my mouth. The last thing I remembered was my stepsister, Cathie, handing me a flute of champagne at the charity gala with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. Now, a tall, dangerously handsome man walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his hips. On the nightstand sat a stack of hundred-dollar bills. My stepmother had finally done it—she drugged me and staged a scandal with a hired escort to destroy my reputation and my future. "Aisha! Is it true you spent the night with a gigolo?" The shouts of a dozen reporters echoed through the heavy oak door as camera flashes exploded through the peephole. My phone lit up with messages showing my bank accounts were already frozen. My father was invoking the 'morality clause' in my mother’s trust fund, and my fiancé had already released a statement dumping me to marry my stepsister instead. I was trapped, penniless, and being hunted by the press for a scandal I hadn't even participated in. My own family had sold me out for a payday, and the man standing in front of me was the only witness who could prove I was innocent—or finish me off for good. I didn't have time to cry. According to the fine print of the trust, I had thirty days to prove my "rehabilitation" through a legal marriage or I would lose everything. I tracked the man down to a coffee shop the next morning, watching him take a thick envelope of cash from a wealthy older woman. I sat across from him and slid a napkin with a $50,000 figure written on it. "I need a husband. Legal, paper-signed, and convincing." He looked at the number, then at me, a slow, crooked smile spreading across his face. I thought I was hiring a desperate gigolo to save my inheritance. I had no idea I was actually proposing to Dominic Fields, the reclusive billionaire shark who was currently planning a hostile takeover of my father’s entire empire.

I was sitting in the Presidential Suite of The Pierre, wearing a Vera Wang gown worth more than most people earn in a decade. It was supposed to be the wedding of the century, the final move to merge two of Manhattan's most powerful empires. Then my phone buzzed. It was an Instagram Story from my fiancé, Jameson. He was at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris with a caption that read: "Fuck the chains. Chasing freedom." He hadn't just gotten cold feet; he had abandoned me at the altar to run across the world. My father didn't come in to comfort me. He burst through the door roaring about a lost acquisition deal, telling me the Holland Group would strip our family for parts if the ceremony didn't happen by noon. My stepmother wailed about us becoming the laughingstock of the Upper East Side. The Holland PR director even suggested I fake a "panic attack" to make myself look weak and sympathetic to save their stock price. Then Jameson’s sleazy cousin, Pierce, walked in with a lopsided grin, offering to "step in" and marry me just to get his hands on my assets. I looked at them and realized I wasn't a daughter or a bride to anyone in that room. I was a failed asset, a bouncing check, a girl whose own father told her to go to Paris and "beg" the man who had just publicly humiliated her. The girl who wanted to be loved died in that mirror. I realized that if I was going to be sold to save a merger, I was going to sell myself to the one who actually controlled the money. I marched past my parents and walked straight into the VIP holding room. I looked the most powerful man in the room—Jameson’s cold, ruthless uncle, Fletcher Holland—dead in the eye and threw the iPad on the table. "Jameson is gone," I said, my voice as hard as stone. "Marry me instead."

I had been a wife for exactly six hours when I woke up to the sound of my husband’s heavy breathing. In the dim moonlight of our bridal suite, I watched Hardin, the man I had adored for years, intertwined with my sister Carissa on the chaise lounge. The betrayal didn't come with an apology. Hardin stood up, unashamed, and sneered at me. "You're awake? Get out, you frumpy mute." Carissa huddled under a throw, her fake tears already welling up as she played the victim. They didn't just want me gone; they wanted me erased to protect their reputations. When I refused to move, my world collapsed. My father didn't offer a shoulder to cry on; he threatened to have me committed to a mental asylum to save his business merger. "You're a disgrace," he bellowed, while the guards stood ready to drag me away. They had spent my life treating me like a stuttering, submissive pawn, and now they were done with me. I felt a blinding pain in my skull, a fracture that should have broken me. But instead of tears, something dormant and lethal flickered to life. The terrified girl who walked down the aisle earlier that day simply ceased to exist. In her place, a clinical system—the Valkyrie Protocol—booted up. My racing heart plummeted to a steady sixty beats per minute. I didn't scream. I stood up, my spine straightening for the first time in twenty years, and looked at Hardin with the detachment of a surgeon looking at a tumor. "Correction," I said, my voice stripped of its stutter. "You're in my light." By dawn, I had drained my father's accounts, vanished into a storm, and found a bleeding Crown Prince in a hidden safehouse. They thought they had broken a mute girl. They didn't realize they had just activated their own destruction.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.
