A contract with the lycan king Chapter 1 Three

"Yes! Yes! Flawless makeup, I need to look everything beautiful for the Alpha."

I spoke happily as I sat in front of the mirror and let the makeup artist do her work. I have always been dreaming about this day and, now it is finally here, a day I will become entirely and eternally bonded with the Alpha, the love of my life for seven life times. Not only that, but I couldn't see this happiness being taken away, so, I braced up and smiled looking in a mirror again. Likewise, I know most ladies pray to be married into the Alpha's home, but, I guess I'm worthy of the Alpha.

"Kindly stand up on your feet, my lady."

The Makeup artist said to me in the coolest of voice. She is the royal makeup artist, what a privilege to be dressed by her. I stood up, looking at my full self. I was wearing a wine colored dinner gown, it has a full length Fla at the back. My long blonde hair was packed into a bun and a fancy pin was inserted in the middle.

"Hand fan!"

She gave me a blue colored fancy hand fan and I smiled at her, staring at my sea blue colored eyes in the mirror. You would be wondering why I'm gazing at the mirror. The thing is, I can't seem to get enough of myself. I felt like I am the prettiest. You would understand when you finally meet your prince charming, and you are getting to be bonded with him forever.

I looked towards the door and I couldn't see my sister coming. Becky, my sister, was supposed to be here as she will be the one to lead me towards the Alpha. The thought of him makes my heart race in excitement and nervousness. Finally, the whole pack will know that I am the mate and Luna of Teddy Tyson the Alpha. I giggled and made to sit down comporting myself and just then, I heard laughter it sounded like Becky and I slowly opened the door to give her a surprise glare. Unfortunately, It wasn't her, it was some maids doing their duties. Just as I wanted to go back, something in me asked me to step out. I would rather not step out until I was being led out. I ignored, took a black veil placed it on my head down to my face and I walked out holding my gown up with my two hands.

As I walked through the hallway, I couldn't feel the presence of anyone, it was all empty. The places should be busy, right? but this part of the building is a secluded area just for the Alpha and his family. I kept going until my feet got stuck to the ground by some noise that I heard. Was it noise? It was moans. I walked closer, wondering who would be having such bonding today. I giggled and made to leave, but the familiar voice got me rooted again to my spot.

"ARH! Fuck! Oh! shit!"

I heard that and it was Becky's voice. I pushed the door a bit open as it wasn't probably closed and there was Becky, riding on someone but, who could that be? As I made to look closely, my mother, Mrs. Liam called unto me.

"Emily! Why are you out?"

Her voice was loud and malicious. I stood shocked and quickly walked out of the door as she walked towards me glaring at me sternly.

"Where is your sister Becky?"

She asked, and I folded my palms on the gown, I couldn't tell her she was in there. As sisters, the both of us like covering for each other, that's how it has been From the beginning. I will just sit quietly and wait until she comes and tell me the dude she was making out with instead of attending to me. Becky is one wild and jovial wolf you will ever come across, she is an extrovert.

"Didn't you come with her mother?"

I asked her, ensuring she didn't suspect anything.

"Silly girl, she left before I came. Meanwhile, sit down at a spot, its twenty-four minutes left until you will meet the Alpha, if Becky doesn't come, I will come pick you."

She said, and I walked behind her reluctantly. Once I got to the door post, she walked outside while I stood for sometime before running back. I needed to see why Becky was there.

Standing at the door, I could perceive a familiar scent. I disregarded it as Becky drew my attention again with her silly moans and talks.

"Promise me! Promise me this day on this sacred bond..."

I heard Becky, say and I wondered what promise she was manipulating him to make. I drew my ears closer to hear.

"Promise me that I will be your one and true Luna and not that urchin that called herself a part of my family."

She spoke and I withdrew my ears. I didn't know, probably I didn't hear that right.

"I have always loved you right from time, and the goddess made I and Emily mates so..."

It was Teddy! And before I could say jack...

"Don't say no more."

Becky, drew him close and gave him the most sensual kiss ever. I watched as she kissed him all over, romancing him, and he did answer back to her. It hurts because, they didn't realize I was standing there Teddy, didn't feel my presence. Just as I turned to leave, I saw my mother standing at the door, sternly glancing at me.

"What did I say Emily?" she asked angrily and that disrupted them.

"Emily?"

Teddy called, looking at me with no remorse while Becky, covered herself with the blanket.

"Don't mention my name." I charged at him. "Emily, you are evil. How could you?". I asked angrily, finally, letting my tears stream down my face.

"You will ruin your makeup Emily, calm down." mother said, but, I would rather not listen to her the pain I'm feeling can't be overlooked.

"My life is ruined now, let the makeup get ruined, I do not care."

spelled it out to her capitally and she raised a brow at me. I kept trying to comprehend what Becky meant by I'm considering myself a part of her family.

"Becky?" Mother called her in annoyance yet in a soothing tone. "Why do you have to do this, child? Against your sister?"

She asked and Becky, curled up looking at me furiously, and she mumbled the word I'm sorry. I couldn't just take her drama, I know she planned this.

"What now Teddy?"

Mother asked, and immediately, Teddy's father and mother walked in. Seeing them, I couldn't say what I feel, either strength or hopelessness.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

I was once the princess of the Upper East Side, but now I’m just "debt wrapped in pretty skin." To keep my father alive in a federal penitentiary, I signed a contract I didn't fully understand. I thought it was about restoring my family's name, but producer Barnett Orr treated it like a bill of sale for my soul. Inside his limousine, the air smelled like gasoline and fear. Barnett didn't want a star; he wanted a victim. He bruised my jaw and ripped my vintage silk gown to shreds, laughing because he knew I couldn't fight back without signing my father's death warrant. "Don't forget who owns you, Felicity," he whispered. When he dragged me into Dewitt Knight’s penthouse party, I was a walking disaster. I huddled in Barnett’s oversized jacket, my lip bleeding and my spirit shattered. The elite crowd didn't see a victim; they saw a fallen girl selling herself for a role. A former rival poured red wine over me, and the room erupted in cruel laughter while Barnett told everyone he was just "testing my commitment." I looked up at the balcony, locking eyes with Dewitt Knight. He was a god in a bespoke suit, looking down at me with cold, lethal disgust. He didn't see the bruises or the desperation. He only saw a transaction he found beneath him. "So the rumors are true," he said, his voice cutting through the music. "The Aguilars really will do anything for money now. Even this." I was trapped between a monster who wanted to break me and a man who thought I was trash. No one cared that my father's life depended on my silence. When Barnett cornered me in a guest room later that night, his belt jingling like a death knell, I realized no one was coming to save a girl like me. I fought back with a crystal vase, shattering it against his shoulder, but I was drowning in my own terror. Just as Barnett lunged for my throat, the door was kicked off its hinges. Dewitt stood there, finally seeing the blood on the carpet and the map of purple bruises on my bare back. He chased the monster away, but I didn't feel safe. I locked the guest room door, wedged a chair under the handle, and slept with a silver letter opener pressed against my skin. When I crept into the kitchen at midnight and found him waiting in the shadows, I aimed the blade at his heart. "In this house, no one hurts you," he promised, his voice a low velvet rumble. But in a world where I had already been sold once, I knew that even protection came with a price I couldn't afford to pay.

The heavy thud of the release stamp was the only goodbye I got from the warden after five years in federal prison. I stepped out into the blinding sun, expecting the same flash of paparazzi bulbs that had seen me dragged away in handcuffs, but there was only a single black limousine idling on the shoulder of the road. Inside sat my mother and sister, clutching champagne and looking at my frayed coat with pure disgust. They didn't offer a welcome home; instead, they tossed a thick legal document onto the table and told me I was dead to the city. "Gavin and I are getting engaged," my sister Mia sneered, flicking a credit card at me like I was a stray dog. "He doesn't need a convict ex-fiancée hanging around." Even after I saved their lives from an armed kidnapping attempt by ramming the attackers off the road, they rewarded me by leaving me stranded in the dirt. When I finally ran into Gavin, the man who had framed me, he pinned me against a wall and threatened to send me back to a cell if I ever dared to show my face at their wedding. They had stolen my biotech research, ruined my name, and let me rot for half a decade while they lived off my brilliance. They thought they had broken me, leaving me with nothing but an expired chapstick and a few old photos in a plastic bag. What they didn't know was that I had spent those five years becoming "Dr. X," a shadow consultant with five hundred million dollars in crypto and a secret that would bring the city to its knees. I wasn't just a victim anymore; I was a weapon, and I was pregnant with the heir they thought they had erased. I walked into the Melton estate and made an offer to the most powerful man in New York. "I'll save your grandfather's life," I told Horatio Melton, staring him down. "But the price is your last name. I'm taking back what's mine, and I'm starting with the man who thinks he's marrying my sister."

I was the titan of Wall Street until an indictment and an ankle monitor turned my penthouse into a gilded cage. To save face, I was forced into a marriage with Elza, a "mute" girl from the Schmidt family whom I treated as nothing more than a silent piece of furniture while my empire crumbled. The night I was poisoned at a high-society gala, a mysterious server in an oversized uniform saved my life with terrifying, clinical precision. They disappeared into the night, leaving me with a silver cufflink and a burning obsession to find the shadow who held my life in their hands. Back home, I took my frustration out on Elza, telling her she was "exhausting to look at" and "smelled like sickness" after her charity visits. Her own family treated her like a stray dog, trying to humiliate her at the next gala by dressing her in what they claimed was a cheap knockoff while whispering to the press that she was nothing but a high-end escort. "Stay out of my way," I would growl at her, never noticing the steel in her eyes. I sat at my table, watching my rivals' stocks plummet and wondering who "The Zero"—the legendary financial ghost—really was. I never suspected that the woman I ignored was the same one solving the equations that were currently burning Manhattan to the ground. The injustice peaked when Elza stood before the city's elite, not as a victim, but as a queen. She dropped over a hundred million dollars to buy back her family’s legacy, revealing a secret fortune that made my own empire look like pocket change. As I grabbed her wrist and saw the small red mole hidden beneath her watch, the truth hit me like a physical blow. The silent wife I had despised was the savior I had been hunting, and she was finally done playing the victim. "We have a lot to talk about, wife," I whispered, realizing I had been sleeping next to the most dangerous woman in the world.
