FROM LOATHING TO LOVE Chapter 1 One long night.

Antonio"s POV.

A smile escaped from my lips the moment Silvia knocked at the door. I didn't need anyone to tell me she was the one since she had called earlier to inform me about her visit. It always made me feel better to see the one lady my heart had chosen despite all the obstacles. Even though my mother would never welcome any Don Winfold family member as one of us.

The moment I saw her, I wrapped my hands around her in excitement,

"I miss you so much, Silvia," I said with sincerity.

"I miss you more babe," she chuckled as I carried her in my arms into the apartment.

"I love you so much, Silvia," I said and tried to kiss her but she shrugged.

"How could you have kept that from me?" Silvia asked and I scoffed.

Our love had been the both of us secret since it was never going to be acceptable by either of our families who were once best friends but were now complete Rivals.

"Your reaction right now is the exact reason I never told you, to avoid making you worry," I said remorsefully and Silvia turned in her seat to look at me.

"I have a plan babe and I'm working... "

"Yeah, I will never hear the end of that, will I? The same words have been hearing for years," Silvia said, and I flashed her a sweet smile.

"Sylvia, I wanted to tell you all about your brother's threat but I didn't want to bother you," I said and she frowned.

Bobby Winfold, Don Winfold's first son and Sylvia's only brother, detested me greatly for no apparent reason. If anyone would permit my affair with Sylvia, it would never be him. He sent one of his men to warn me about staying far from his sister or risk losing my life.

"Bother me? The only reason he spared your life was because of Don Pablo and he will keep coming until you put him in his place," She said.

"How do I possibly do that?"

"Your mom, my family hates her so much and I can tell my brother is afraid of her with how he spoke about their ordeal in the past but quickly changes topic when I try to press further," She said and I laughed.

"My mom? How would your brother be scared of a harmless woman? She worked for the Don even before I was born and nothing more, your brother has heavily armed men," I said defensively and Sylvia frowned.

"There's a lot we both don't know yet about our families and I wonder what they are protecting us from," Sylvia was right. A lot about the past had been locked away but the fragment kept haunting us.

"You must have been exhausted," I said wanting to change the topic since I noticed the room had become too tense.

"Yeah,"

"I should go set the table for dinner," I said, and Silvia frowned and held me back.

"Babe, are you not attracted to me?" She questioned innocently and I raised a brow.

"You know I do. I love everything about you,"

"Then what's stopping us from Having sex?" She asked in an unfamiliar voice and I swallowed hard.

"Silvia, I wouldn't want to hurt you and you know the consequences.... "

"Damn the consequences, babe, my family has no right over me. I want you. I am ready to give you my body and virginity," She said holding me against herself and I smiled.

"Babe, let's have dinner," I said in a husky voice and she frowned and pushed me away.

For a year now, Silvia and I had been having a secret affair. We became friends after meeting at a beach party, and the more we grew close, the more we knew we were in love. Silvia's family had bluntly refused to be together the moment they found out who my Mother was. Our families were sworn enemies and no matter of plea would change my mother's mind. Even when I asked for the reason she hated the Winfolds so much, my mom had always found a way to change the topic.

"I've missed this," I said when I raised my head from my meal and saw Silvia devouring her food.

"Missed what? The meal or watching me eat?" Sylvia asked, and I nodded.

"Both. I miss everything about us," I said before taking another spoon from his rice and curry stew.

"You have no idea how lonely it felt after you left," Sylvia said, and I nodded.

"I'm sorry babe, well, I'm here now," I said and She rolled her eyes.

"For how long?" Sylvia asked dryly, and I shrugged.

"Well, what matters is that I'm here right now, With you," I said and she nodded.

"I don't just want right now, I want forever in your arms," Sylvia said.

"How long should we continue this hide-and-seek Game huh? We have to come plain with our families and force them to accept," Sylvia said, and I took a deep breath.

"It's more than just what we've been told, Babe, I've never seen my mom talk about someone with so much hatred as she does whenever I mention your family," I said in sincerity not wanting to hurt her.

"For my dad, it's always about the Don. Your granddad, hates him so much, and from what I've heard they've been rivals for years, but we can change the narrative babe, and create a new path for our lineage," Sylvia said. I could see the innocence in her eyes and wished she would understand my fears even though my love for her was greater than it. Don Pablo was my mother's boss and the man I had grown to call a grandfather since the death of my dad. I never met my biological dad, my mom claimed he died long before I was born and had always shunned conversations about him. She had given her surname. A thing that made me ridicule my schoolmate who knew my family while I was young. I had accepted my fate, I had also accepted my mother and grandmother as the only family I had. Sylvia's father Don Winfold was as influential as my granddad in Columbia They were the two Dons and the powerhouse of Columbia. My mom had always refused me getting close to Don Pablo or any of his businesses. Mom had always warned me about Don Pablo and promised that I would have a better life and not become one of his tools, despise her working for him.

"Take me into your arms Antonio and make me a woman, I want you," Slyvia said cutting my thought off.

"Sylvia..... "

"I'm ready for it Antonio, I am Eighteen and should know what's best for me," She said.

"That's not the thing, You will gain admission into the college soon and we will be together, far from their reach and watches and then we will have enough time to plan how we can pull through," I assured her and she nodded.

"My dad and brother want me to further in the state and not here in Columbia anymore," She said, and my heart skipped a beat.

Despite my mother's persistent pleas for me to move to New York, I decided to finish my college education in Columbia because I wanted to be with Sylvia.

"I'm sorry Antonio. I think my family wants me to marry a family friend's son and wants me to get acquainted with him in the state against my wish," She said and I felt my heart racing.

"I thought you gained admission here already. Why the sudden changes?" I questioned.

"It's all my brother's idea," She said shakingly

"Can't we go against it for our sake?" I asked even though I knew the answer already.

"You have no idea what he is capable of doing if I dare go against him," She said and I nodded.

A few minutes later we were both seated on my bed as my thoughts wandered. I'd given up on my desire to go far from home and discover the truth about my father because of Sylvia. My love for Sylvia had caused me to choose to let go of this yearning and focus on the two of us, even though it was difficult to stay in Columbia and make such a discovery without my mother finding out given the kind of influence she had.

Upon initially seeing us together, her brother had ordered his men to physically abuse me. However, he stopped when one of them revealed that I was a member of the Don Pablo camp and that any contact with someone from the other camp would indicate an impending war or conflict.

I feel hot," she said as she unfastened the belt of her trench coat, and I swallowed hard as she took off the trenchcoat to reveal a red mini bodycon dress with spaghetti straps. The dress revealed enough of her cleavage for me to know she wasn't wearing a bra under it.

"Like my dress?" She asked with a seductive smile as she watched my eyes slowly sweep over her outfit.

Seeing her full-rounded boobs made my cock hard as I tried to look away.

"Sylvia," I groaned as I took her coat from her to hang it and she grinned.

She wrapped her arms around my neck and crushed her body against mine with her hips tilted against mine, and her breasts pressed against my chest, her whole body sending an undeniable message as she kissed me.

"Sylvia please stop," I muttered beneath my breath trying to suppress my racing passion.

"I want you deep inside of me. Even if this would be the first and only time, please just make me feel like a woman," She whispered and I shut my eyes. I had no notion what to anticipate going into my first sexual experience.

This wasn't what I had planned or the way I had planned for us to go about it. I liked her and wanted her in my life forever. I had dreamed of us having our first sex the night of our wedding and pleasuring her in all possible ways. Free from the chaos and noise of families and haters.

"Making love to you will make you mine forever," I muttered and she smiled.

"That's all I want to be yours forever," She replied softly and pulled me closer to her.

since she was unwilling to listen and had her mind made up, I parted my lips to give in to her requests. I put my arms around her waist and raised her so she could sit on top of me.

With our hearts pounding, I watched as she undid my trousers and pulled my briefs down my legs and over my thighs.

"What are you doing?" I questioned.

"I spent the entire night browsing the internet for tutorials on how to make our first sex enjoyable," she stated naively, causing an uncontrollable smile to appear on my lips.

"I want to see it, and feel it," she said as she met my gaze, and I gave her a nod and watched as she brushed the length of my cock with her palm.

"It is hot and feels smooth," she said as she continued to brush it, while I shut my eyes as I fought the urge to pull her back up.

"Sylvia, you're killing me," I said in a husky voice.

"Can I put it in my mouth? I've always wondered what it feels like to give a blowjob," she said unashamedly and I nodded. It seems we both had the same thought going through our minds.

"I'd be happy to be your first," I said.

"And only one," she whispered, causing me to sigh as she moved her inexperienced lips to my cock.

The rain in Detroit was slick with grime when my family finally came to fetch me. They didn't want a reunion; they wanted a sacrificial lamb to marry into the Kaufman empire to save their failing business. I thought I was just being sold off, but the limo ride ended under a dark overpass where six hired thugs were waiting with chains. My own sister had ordered them to "break my spirit" so I’d be a shaking, pathetic mess by the time I reached the altar. They called me "Detroit trash" and sprayed air freshener when I sat on their leather seats. My stepmother wanted a video of me begging for my life, and my father was ready to trade me like a used car to a man everyone called a "vegetable." They expected a submissive country girl, unaware that I was a high-level "cleaner" who could snap a radius bone before they could even scream. When I finally reached the Kaufman estate, I found my fiancĆ©, Barron, slumped in a wheelchair, drooling and silent. But as soon as the doors closed, the "invalid" grabbed my wrist with a grip of iron and whispered a command that changed everything. I didn't understand why my own blood was so desperate to see me destroyed. What had I ever done to deserve a hit squad and a forced marriage to a man they thought was a corpse? But Barron isn't a vegetable, and I'm not a victim. We just touched down at the Moon family gala in a matte-black helicopter, and as the doors slide open, the "broken" bride is about to show them exactly what happens when you throw away the wrong daughter. "If we're going to crash a party," Barron whispered, his eyes burning with lethal clarity, "we should make an entrance."

Rain hammered against the asphalt as my sedan spun violently into the guardrail on the I-95. Blood trickled down my temple, stinging my eyes, while the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers mocked my panic. Trembling, I dialed my husband, Clive. His executive assistant answered instead, his voice professional and utterly cold. "Mr. Wilson says to stop the theatrics. He said, and I quote, 'Hang up. Tell her I don’t have time for her emotional blackmail tonight.'" The line went dead while I was still trapped in the wreckage. At the hospital, I watched the news footage of Clive wrapping his jacket around his "fragile" ex-girlfriend, Angelena, shielding her from the storm I was currently bleeding in. When I returned to our penthouse, I found a prenatal ultrasound in his suit pocket, dated the day he claimed to be on a business trip. Instead of an apology, Clive met me with a sneer. He told me I was nothing but an "expensive decoration" his father bought to make him look stable. He froze my bank accounts and cut off my cards, waiting for the hunger to drive me back to his feet. I stared at the man I had loved for four years, realizing he didn't just want a wife; he wanted a prop he could switch off. He thought he could starve me into submission while he played father to another woman's child. But Clive forgot one thing. Before I was his trophy wife, I was Starfall—the legendary voice actress who vanished at the height of her fame. "I'm not jealous, Clive. I'm done." I grabbed my old microphone and walked out. I’m not just leaving him; I’m taking the lead role in the biggest saga in Hollywood—the one Angelena is desperate for. This time, the "decoration" is going to burn his world down.

I was once the heiress to the Solomon empire, but after it crumbled, I became the "charity case" ward of the wealthy Hyde family. For years, I lived in their shadows, clinging to the promise that Anson Hyde would always be my protector. That promise shattered when Anson walked into the ballroom with Claudine Chapman on his arm. Claudine was the girl who had spent years making my life a living hell, and now Anson was announcing their engagement to the world. The humiliation was instant. Guests sneered at my cheap dress, and a waiter intentionally sloshed champagne over me, knowing I was a nobody. Anson didn't even look my way; he was too busy whispering possessively to his new fiancĆ©e. I was a ghost in my own home, watching my protector celebrate with my tormentor. The betrayal burned. I realized I wasn't a ward; I was a pawn Anson had kept on a shelf until he found a better trade. I had no money, no allies, and a legal trust fund that Anson controlled with a flick of his wrist. Fleeing to the library, I stumbled into Dallas Koch—a titan of industry and my best friend’s father. He was a wall of cold, absolute power that even the Hydes feared. "Marry me," I blurted out, desperate to find a shield Anson couldn't climb. Dallas didn't laugh. He pulled out a marriage agreement and a heavy fountain pen. "Sign," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "But if you walk out that door with me, you never go back." I signed my name, trading my life for the only man dangerous enough to keep me safe.

For two years, I was the invisible force behind tech billionaire Kieran Douglas, convinced that our "private" romance was his way of protecting us from the tabloid spotlight. I managed his mergers, warmed his bed, and waited for a future that didn't exist. The illusion shattered at 6:00 AM when a Page Six alert debuted Kieran’s "real" romance with socialite Aspen Schneider. Before I could even process the betrayal, Kieran sent me a cold, professional text: "Order flowers for Aspen. Pink peonies. Her favorite." When I tried to walk away, my own mother called me a disgrace and threatened to lock my inheritance forever unless I married a sixty-year-old businessman to save her failing estate. At a high-society gala that same night, Aspen intentionally crushed my burned hand in front of the cameras, while Kieran stood by and dismissed me as a "mediocre assistant" who had overstayed her welcome. I stood in the cold New York rain, drenched in champagne and humiliation, realizing that every sacrifice I made for Kieran was a joke. I was a ghost in a penthouse that was never mine, discarded the moment his "soulmate" returned. To the world, I was just a placeholder whose time had run out. But Kieran forgot one thing: my father’s multi-million dollar trust fund unlocks the moment I legally marry. I didn't need love; I needed a signature and a shield. I walked into a discreet law firm and signed a marriage contract with a man I believed was the city’s most notorious, scandal-ridden playboy. I thought I was marrying a degenerate "beard" to buy my freedom and secure my revenge. I didn't realize the man who signed that paper wasn't a playboy at all, but Gaston Collins—the most powerful and dangerous man on Wall Street—and he had no intention of letting our fake marriage stay fake.
