Chapter 1 1

Katty's POV:

"Congratulations, Katty. I am very happy with your recovery. You can now control yourself very well. I hope that you learn a lot from the past. I also hope that the future that awaits you will be good. You can go now and pass below for your things," said Dra happily. Valdez.

I smiled and almost cried with joy. After a few years, I will be able to get out of rehab. I am happy that there has been an improvement in me. I also want to change my life and forget the past.

After I said goodbye to Dra. Valdez, I went down to the room he pointed to. There were nurses here who assisted me. I just followed them.

They took me to a room and there was a box. I looked at everything and these are the things I had when I first came here.

I took my yellow above-the-knee and sleeveless dress. It's spaghetti straps and I also have brown sandals. My Hermes shoulder bag is also here with only my make-up and cellphone.

After I got dressed I looked in the mirror. I've lost a bit of weight here and my under-eye area has darkened. I also had insomnia which is getting better.

I walked out of the mental asylum and the nurses greeted me. I smiled at them and waved. Others are just afraid of me. I can't take that away from them. My past wasn't really good. Even if only a few people know, it's still sad. The asylum has really changed me since I got better.

I walked out of the corner where the asylum stood. I just waited for a taxi and in a few minutes I got one.

I delivered it to my old condo. I'm so glad I still own it and my parents didn't take it. They still pay my expenses. I'm sure mom will like it.

When I entered it was still the same as before. I smiled. I'm glad my family didn't hate me after all. However, only Dad knows everything. There is nothing he doesn't know when it comes to our siblings. Most of the time we don't even know that he already knows.

I immediately jumped up and lay down on the bed. Its smell stung my nose. Hey, I miss life here outside.

I took a shower and changed my clothes again. Even if I change my clothes ten times, I will not be judged. I'm tired of wearing our white hospital gown.

I took a shower for almost an hour because I enjoyed soaking. The shower gel and shampoo here at the hotel also smell very good. They have changed things and now have their own hotel brand.

When I came out, I immediately put on a new dress. I wore a red sundress. I dressed it up with my Gucci sandals and earlier Hermes bag.

I looked in the mirror and put on a little make-up. My style is simpler now, back to the old Katty. It's still good. I intend to cut my waist-length hair.

Before I left I looked on Facebook. There are many trends now, especially when it comes to clothing. It turns out that the old-school look and the sexy dresses that are easy on the eyes are in fashion now. I was tempted to go shopping outside later.

I saved pictures to look for in the mall. I left the room and went straight out of the hotel. I just took a taxi because I didn't know where my car was.

When I got to the mall there were a lot of people. I can see trendy clothes among young people today. I felt in awe. I also want to imitate their form.

I entered the mall and walked around. I felt hungry so I decided to go to a restaurant and eat.

I entered Marlino and was greeted by the waiter. He guided me to sit in an empty seat.

I looked at the menu and my eyes just widened. Why are things so expensive now?

I let it go because I still had savings in my atm and I also have a black card. I ordered and chose those Pinoy dishes.

I ordered rice porridge, beef sisig, kare-kare, fried rice platter, halo-halo, leche flan, and iced tea. I'm sure I'll be full afterward. I hope I can finish it all because the food is very expensive. I hope it's also delicious.

After waiting for about half a minute, I stared at the waiter. It just stared at me and smiled.

"Enjoy your meal," it said.

He placed what I ordered on the table. I lost my temper because of its fragrant smell. It is appetizing and makes you hungry.

Fortunately, I am now in control of my emotions and actions. Maybe because the order took too long, I already stabbed this waiter who was too sticky to look at.

I ate and the food was very good. The other dish was split so I had it wrapped. I learned to be frugal from a fellow asylum seeker. When I used to be at a party, they said Sharon Cuneta was famous. Wrap me up, she said.

I had the waitress wrap my leftover food. It seemed to wince. Is there a problem?

I also took the bill and reached for my yellow credit card. After a while, the waitress came back and looked at me straight.

"Your card is wrong, miss. If you don't have anything to pay for, you shouldn't eat. You look like you're rich and you have a takeout. It looks stolen," said the waitress flatly.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Try this one," I said calmly and handed her my black card.

It bothered me before leaving. I'm only smiling because I'm good at controlling my emotions. Peace and humility are the answers.

I waited for her to come back and she just bowed. Still carrying the paper bag with only food that I probably wrapped.

"Ma'am G-Katty Heartwell, I'm sorry for my behavior earlier. I didn't know it was you" she said with a straight face.

"How did you know me?" I will ask.

"Y-Your family owns this whole mall. I-I'm really sorry," she said shyly.

"No problem, what are you doing! Thanks and thank you," I said with a smile before taking the paper bag from her.

I was full so I went around the inside of this mall next. It is very big and the stores are all branded. I even know others like Victoria's Secret, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton.

I went into Gucci and looked at new sandals and shoes. I saw some very beautiful strap heels.

"Hi Ma'am, do you want that? It's only 200,000 and it's a limited edition. We have less than 10 percent now," he said with a smile.

I stopped myself from wincing. It turns out that the goods are really more expensive now. But like a friend of mine in the asylum, it's not bad to buy something. Spoil yourself sometimes.

"Alright, I'll get it. My foot is size 38," I said with a smile.

He assisted me and they even gave me iced tea. After I paid I said goodbye to them. I saw H&M so I went there next.

I remember Ellinita and I used to have a VIP card here. I looked at my wallet and it was still there. I hope it's still valid.

"Excuse me," I called a saleslady and handed over the card.

Her eyes widened and she politely assisted me. I said the natural treatment is fine. She guided me to the VIP room.

"Good afternoon, Ma'am Katty Heartwell. Do you want a style or specific item? We have a brochure here of newly released clothes," she asked me with a smile.

"Oh, I like the style. I'll be looking for three different pairs of clothes of this style. Go with shades and shoes if you have them," I answered with a smile.

I showed her the photo on my cell phone. I'm still using the iPhone 4 but that's fine. I saw that there was already an iPhone 8 so I plan to look later. Maybe it's okay with Chadwick to pay for my expenses. He loves me.

They gave me a snack again so I ate again. It's fun for them to receive VIPs. Also the ones I bought earlier from regular customers.

When the saleslady returned, she had two other women with her. I chose that nude pink suit.

That's what I wore and I paid for the rest. What I'm wearing is called a turtle neck with puff arm sleeves and a super crop top shirt. I'm wearing mommy jeans. I also put on the strap heels I bought earlier, I look very nice.

"Ma'am, you are very beautiful. Can you take a picture?" asked the saleslady.

I smiled because of the excitement. I'm beautiful? What! It's not too much, add that I'm a bit stressed.

"Okay," I agreed.

After we took pictures, I left their store. Next, I went to the department store where the make-up was.

As I looked, I noticed that light make-up is the trend now, unlike before. I prefer this one because their best seller is all light colors.

"Miss, can I get that? I want that color but it is the last one," said a child beside me.

I stared at the girl and she was so beautiful. She looks like someone I've seen before.

"Sure, you can have it. I can also treat you," I offered the girl.

She giggled so I was happy. She's a cute kid. He even accompanied me to the counter to pay.

We each got a bag because I bought something else. I let her choose what she wanted. I was happy because of her cuteness.

"Where are your parents?" I will ask.

"Well, I'm far away from them. I can't find them but these make-ups attracted me," she said with a sneer.

I laughed and ruffled her hair. It looks like he is still in kindergarten or grade 1 but he speaks straight and still has an accent. Her pair of eyes are also green.

"First of all, what's your name-"

"Channelle! Oh my God, child! Everywhere I looked for you!" shouted a familiar woman.

She immediately went to her, whose name turned out to be Channelle. The woman looked at me and I knew the two men behind her. That's why they are familiar.

"G-Katty?" he asked.

"Kyrie? Is that you? You're already successful!" I happily congratulate them.

I also congratulated Marc who was her boyfriend in high school and it looks like she's still with him. I was very impressed with Jonell.

"Hi Doc Jonell, nice to see you again. It was last week when I last saw you at the asylum," I greeted him and waved.

Kyrie and Marc's jaws dropped. Why are they so shocked?

I was finally brought back to the billionaire Vance estate after years in the grimy foster system, but the luxury Lincoln felt more like a funeral procession. My biological family didn't welcome me with open arms; they looked at me like a stain on a silk shirt. They thought I was a "defective" mute with cognitive delays, a spare part to be traded away. Within hours of my arrival, my father decided to sell me to Julian Thorne, a bitter, paralyzed heir, just to secure a corporate merger. My sister Tiffany treated me like trash, whispering for me to "go back to the gutter" before pouring red wine over my dress in front of Manhattan's elite. When a drunk cousin tried to lay hands on me at the engagement gala, my grandmother didn't protect me-she raised her silver-topped cane to strike my face for "embarrassing the family." They called me a sacrificial lamb, laughing as they signed the prenuptial agreement that stripped me of my freedom. They had no idea I was E-11, the underground hacker-artist the world was obsessed with, or that I had already breached their private servers. I found the hidden medical records-blood types A, A, and B-a biological impossibility that proved my "parents" were harboring a scandal that could ruin them. Why bring me back just to discard me again? And why was Julian Thorne, the man supposedly bound to a wheelchair, secretly running miles at dawn on his private estate? Standing in the middle of the ballroom, I didn't plead for mercy. I used a text-to-speech app to broadcast a cold, synthetic threat: "I have the records, Richard. Do you want me to explain genetics to the press, or should we leave quietly?" With the "paralyzed" billionaire as my unexpected accomplice, I walked out of the Vance house and into a much more dangerous game.

I died on a Tuesday. It wasn't a quick death. It was slow, cold, and meticulously planned by the man who called himself my father. I was twenty years old. He needed my kidney to save my sister. The spare part for the golden child. I remember the blinding lights of the operating theater, the sterile smell of betrayal, and the phantom pain of a surgeon's scalpel carving into my flesh while my screams echoed unheard. I remember looking through the observation glass and seeing him-my father, Giovanni Vitiello, the Don of the Chicago Outfit-watching me die with the same detached expression he used when signing a death warrant. He chose her. He always chose her. And then, I woke up. Not in heaven. Not in hell. But in my own bed, a year before my scheduled execution. My body was whole, unscarred. The timeline had reset, a glitch in the cruel matrix of my existence, giving me a second chance I never asked for. This time, when my father handed me a one-way ticket to London-an exile disguised as a severance package-I didn't cry. I didn't beg. My heart, once a bleeding wound, was now a block of ice. He didn't know he was talking to a ghost. He didn't know I had already lived through his ultimate betrayal. He also didn't know that six months ago, during the city's brutal territory wars, I was the one who saved his most valuable asset. In a secret safe house, I stitched up the wounds of a blinded soldier, a man whose life hung by a thread. He never saw my face. He only knew my voice, the scent of vanilla, and the steady touch of my hands. He called me Sette. Seven. For the seven stitches I put in his shoulder. That man was Dante Moretti. The Ruthless Capo. The man my sister, Isabella, is now set to marry. She stole my story. She claimed my actions, my voice, my scent. And Dante, the man who could spot a lie from a mile away, believed the beautiful deception because he wanted it to be true. He wanted the golden girl to be his savior, not the invisible sister who was only ever good for her spare parts. So I took the ticket. In my past life, I fought them, and they silenced me on an operating table. This time, I will let them have their perfect, gilded lie. I will go to London. I will disappear. I will let Seraphina Vitiello die on that plane. But I will not be a victim. This time, I will not be the lamb led to slaughter. This time, from the shadows of my exile, I will be the one holding the match. And I will wait, with the patience of the dead, to watch their entire world burn. Because a ghost has nothing to lose, and a queen of ashes has an empire to gain.
