A Complicated Life Chapter 1 One

DAYTON HIGH SCHOOL'S HALLWAY

Rudy and his sister Alex were walking down the hallway when a girl suddenly approached them.

She blocked their paths and Alex smiled.

Rudy raises his brows, not understanding what the girl was doing, as the other students start to gather around them.

"I-I love you senior Rudy", the girl said, and all the students gasped in shock as they started murmuring.

What?

Is she crazy?

First she blocked the cold Prince's path, and now she is confessing her love for him.

There is definitely something wrong with her.

I'm sure he is going to ignore her like the rest of them.

Rudy frowned his face at the girl for causing a scene, and he tried to walk away, but Alex stopped him.

"Brother," she called.

"What"Rudy asked.

"Don't you have anything you want to tell her?" Alex asked.

"Like what?" Rudy asked.

"Brother"Alex called, frowning and Rudy sighs.

"She should learn how to stop causing unwanted attention,"Rudy said, and the students burst into laughter.

"Brother"Alex called, frowning his face at Rudy and he sighed.

"Hey you"Rudy called.

"Yo-you mean me" the girl pointed at herself.

"Yeah"

"Thank you"Rudy said, walking away, and the girl smiled.

"Senior Rudy, just thanks me for loving him" The girl said inwardly.

The students kept quiet for a while till Rudy was out of sight before they went into an uproar.

Di-did....did you guys hear that?

Yeah, the cold Prince just thanked her for loving him.

Wow! She is so lucky.

I'm jealous of her.

I wish I could be her right now.

The students continued to scream until a guy showed up with his friends behind him, and they all kept quiet, staring at them.

Is he the one?

Yeah, that's him.

Are you sure?

Yes, it's him.

Isn't that the Prince, charming and his friend?

The students started to murmur silently.

Adrian Louis, also known as the prince, Charming of Dayton High school.

Every step he takes is breathing, taking for all the girls. He is handsome, but not as handsome as Rudy.

Adrian and his two friends named Ethan and Brian hate everything about Rudy.

For being more popular than them with the girls, for being every girl's crush and also for his cold attitudes.

But on the other hand, Rudy doesn't even know who Adrian and his friend are, he doesn't know if they are classmates or not, he doesn't even know if they hate him or not.

"What's going on here?" Adrian asked, walking in the middle of the students with his friends.

"I thought I heard you guys screaming" he said as he stood in front of a guy.

"Why did you suddenly stop?" Adrian asked, facing the guy.

The guy swallows nothing hard, but saliva as his body begins to shake because he knows Adrian can be scary sometimes whenever he is angry.

"What happened here? Why are you guys screaming?" Adrian asked darkly and the guy quickly replied.

"It was her"

"It was all her fault," the guy replied.

"Huh!"

"The students were screaming because she confessed her feelings for senior Rudy, and he said thank you", the guy said.

"What?" Adrian exclaimed in shock.

"That cold bastard thanks a girl for loving him. That's new. Who is the lucky girl I want to see, her?" Adrian asked.

"She is over there", the guy replied, pointing at the girl who confessed her feelings to Rudy earlier.

Adrian's eyes widened immediately he saw her, and he started to walk toward the girl angrily.

"Mina," he called when he got to her.

"Brother"

"Is it true you confessed your feelings to that bastard?" Adrian asked, and the girl didn't reply.

"Mina, haven't, I warned you not to do that"Adrian said.

"But Brother, I love senior Rudy," Mina said, and Adrian slapped her, making all the students gasp in shock.

"Don't love him, he is going to end up breaking your heart," Adrian said, and tears started to roll down Mina's eyes.

"You... You...you are just saying that because you hate senior Rudy"Mina said, and the students started murmuring

It's really the truth, Senior Adrian hates Senior Rudy for being more popular than him

I can't believe he would slap his own sister because she confesses her feelings for someone she loved.

I don't like him anymore.

Yeah me too.

I hate the prince Charming.

Dumb prince, charming and his friend.

Senior Rudy is far better than them.

The students kept on murmuring, which made Adrian really upset as he heard Rudy's name and the students walked out of the hallway.

"Mina, how could you say that?" Adrian said.

"What? I'm not lying, that's the truth,"Mina said.

"Damn you little bitch," Adrian yelled and slapped her again.

"I hate you"Mina said and walked away.

"Mina wait"Alex frowned her face at Adrian.

"What do you want?" Adrian asked.

Alex rolled her eyes at him before she hissed and walked away.

"What the hell is wrong with her", Adrian raised his brows as Brian and Ethan walked up to him.

"Dude, you shouldn't have slapped your sister like that,"Ethan said.

"What"

"Yeah Ethan is right, you shouldn't have slapped Mina because of that cold bastard,"Brian said.

"Huh! Are you guys siding with Rudy now?" Adrian asked, not understanding them.

"No, we are on your side, but you should have slapped Mina because of Rudy," Brian said, and Ethan nodded.

"You should apologize to her,"Ethan said.

"No way am I going to apologize to her, my mind is set on that," Adrian said.

Ethan and Brian sigh, knowing there is no way they can change his mind whenever he is set on doing something.

"So guys, how is our plan going?" Adrian asked.

"It has been good so far," Ethan replied, and Adrian smirked darkly, folding his fist.

"Just you wait, Rudy, your days as the most popular guy in this school are about to end," Adrian said, and the three of them laughed.

SENIOR BLOCK.

Rudy could be seen with his head down on a table and the girl sitting beside him kept on staring at him with a smile playing on her smile.

"Gawd", Rudy sighed, raising his head up and sighed, and the girl quickly looked away.

"If you really like my face that much, you could just take a picture"Rudy stood up, not looking at her.

"Can I?" The girl asked, looking excited as she quickly took out her phone.

"No"Rudy replied, and the girl sighed sadly as another female student approached them.

"Hey you, Celine,"She pointed at the girl sitting beside Rudy.

"What is it this time, Kiran?" Celine asked.

"I want you and I to exchange seats,"Kiran said.

"Huh"

"I want to sit beside Rudy,"Kiran said.

"I have said countless times, I'm not interested in doing that,"Celine replied.

"Then let's ask Rudy who he would like to sit with between the two of us,"Kiran said.

"Yes Rudy, who would you like to sit between me and Kiran,"Celine asked.

"You have to pick me, Rudy,"Kiran said.

"No Rudy, don't listen to her, pick me"Celine said.

"No, pick me,"Kiran said.

"No, pick me instead,"Celine said.

"Pick me"

"Pick me"

"No it's me"

"It's me,"Celine said.

"Rudy, who do you want to sit with?" Kiran and Celine asked and Rudy ignored both of them as he started to walk out of the class.

"Huh"

"He literally just ignored us,"Celine said.

"Wait Rudy, I have something I want to tell you"Kiran screamed, running after him.

JUNIOR BLOCK.

"Thanks for earlier, Alex,"Mina said.

"Huh! About what"Alex asked.

"It was because of you, Senior Rudy, thank me, for loving him,"Mina smiled and Alex chuckled.

"That was nothing, I was just teasing my brother," Alex said, and Mina's eyes widened.

"Teasing him"

"Yeah"Alex laughed and Mina nodded.

"Hm-hm-hm Alex,"Mina called.

"What is it, Mina?" Alex asked.

"Hmm, can you, hmm, like fix a date for me and your brother"Mina asked.

"What?" Alex screamed.

"No way," she replied.

"Why?" Mina asked.

"I wouldn't like it if your brother slapped you again,"Alex replied.

"Ohh"

"We can just keep it a secret, and he won't find out,"Mina said.

"Really"Alex muttered.

"Yes, so pretty. Please fix a date for me and senior Rudy."

"I promise to buy you anything if you fix the date," Mina said.

"Really"Alex asked.

"Yes"

"Consider it done,"Alex said.

"For real"

"Yes, so when do you want the date to be?" Alex asked.

"What about this afternoon?" Mina said.

"Okay, I will text you the time and location once I get home,"Alex said.

"Thank you very much, Alex,"Mina smiled.

"Guys guess who is going on a date with senior Rudy this afternoon"Mina screamed.

"It's me, and it's all thanks to Alex," Mina added, and almost all the female students rushed toward Alex's seat.

Alex, can you fix a date for me and senior Rudy too?

I would love to go on a date with senior Rudy. Could you do that for me Alex?

I promise to get you anything, If I could just spend a night with senior Rudy.

The female students kept on screaming.

"You guys should line up your money, I am going to fix a date for all of you with my brother"Alex smiled as they all formed a queue.

SOMEWHERE AROUND THE SCHOOL

Rudy suddenly stopped walking as Kiran started to breathe heavily, standing behind him.

"What do you want and why are you following like a stalker?" Rudy asked, turning around to face him.

"Me, a stalker"Kiran asked, touching herself as she breathed heavily.

"Yes,"Rudy replied, walking away and Kiran frowned.

"Hey wait, I have something I want to tell you"Kiran said, and Rudy stopped walking.

"What?"He asked.

"Would you like to go out on a date with me?" Kiran asked.

"No,"Rudy replied and continued walking away.

"Jeez, he is too cold but handsome and rude, just like his name Rudy"Kiran said, biting her lower lips.

"I wonder how Kyra is going to react when they meet,"She smiled.

"I bet he is going to be too handsome for her to ignore."

"Rudy Gray, you are going to be ours"Kiran smirked.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.
