I am Clara Nkem Felix from Rivers State, Nigeria and  this is my unending history about life itself. The mistrust and trust, the love and betrayal, the light and darkness, the friends and foes, the evil and good, the happiness and sadness, the overwhelmness of life, the bitterness and sweetness of mankind, the greed, envy, support and  wickedness of life. The ranting, the complain and all manner of people. The affliction, religion, tribes, and association. Clara tends to show her children some moral principles of life by explaining her life encounter as a youth.

Chapter 1 1

Clara strolled down the hall ways, her glasses tightly fixed to her eyes as the breeze blew rapidly sending chills down her spine.

A smiled sneaked across her face remembering the good-bad days of her youth when she saw tow little children arguing over a toy.

She walked towards them as they were both engrossed in their argument,"Hello kids.."She interrupted.

The kids turned to her panting,"Miss Clara it's mine!"The older one whined tucking the toy to herself,"You're lying,it's mine you borrowed it"The other half yelled fighting back to drag off the toy.

"It's alright kiddos!,how about this??"She stated smiling to see their reaction as the kids turned waiting keenly to hear what she has to say.

Clara took the toy and gave to the small kid,

"But......"

"Shhh!"She shushed her up immediately with a warm smile,"Is she your age mate precious??"She asked.

"No Miss Clara"The older one name precious answered grumpily with squeezed face.

"Come here honey..."Clara placed her hands on her shoulders squatting to her level,"Darling!.....time will come when this toy wouldn't be so important to you....the more you grow ,the more responsible you become and you'll have much responsibility too....I thought she's you're friends?"She explained asking.

Precious nodded staring at her friend Miracle as a slight smile creeped onto her lips.

"Now tell me darling...is it right to share things with your friends??"Clara asked further.

"Yes it is "Precious responded lowering her face in guilt as she fidgeted with the hem of her gown.

"Then why dragging??...When she's done with it she'll get it back to you, that's what friends do!they'll never spoil your things or do things that'll hurt you okay??"She reassured her as she raised her head smiling broadly."Yes please "She grinned wider.

Clara turned to Miracle with a fake frown,"Hope you'll return it??"She asked.

Miracle stared at the toy, then at precious and back to Clara,"yes I will "She responded tenderly.

"Good girl and don't spoil it okay??"Clara smiled patting her gently on the hair,"yes please"Miracle happily responded grinning, she walked to her friend pushing her gently by the arm,"I won't spoil it I promise "She stated which got her friend smiling.

Clara smiled watching the kids leave her sight,if only she could rewind time!If only her past was as perfect as these kids, she wouldn't have had any regrets at all.

"Miss Clara??"She heard her name from behind as she felt a tap on her shoulders

"Yes please?"She responded.

"Jeez I've been calling your name, where's your mind huh??"Mrs Annabel her colleague teased.

"Ugh,I'm sorry just a little stressed out!"She replies smiling warmly.

"Ohh so sorry, ma'am asked me to call you it's time for the meeting, hope everyone is gone??"She asked blabbing.

"Yes, they're... thanks, let's go then"Clara stated as they both walked to the hall of meeting.

The meeting went smoothly as the proprietress corrected their faults.

She left for home feeling a little bit dizzy,"mummy...mummy!!"She heard her kids voice as they rushed towards her.

Angel David Micheal and Sophia were her four kids.

"Uhm mum Sophia has been whining, she wouldn't eat her golden morn"Angel complained as soon as they got to their mum."And is that your good afternoon??"Clara retorted.

"Sorry mum.. good afternoon"Angel corrected giggling sheepishly.

"So you can't even take care of your junior sis eh?,how will you take care of yourself when you go into the university??"Clara questioned carrying Sophia.

"But mum....."

"Don't but me!just look at your sister, has she taken her bathe??has she done her assignments?? No!!,you're eighteen for crying out loud, this shouldn't be so and you know it!"She half yelled at Angel correcting her mistakes.

"I'm sorry mum"Angel apologized staring daggers at Sophia which Clara ignored.

"So how are you guys??"She asked smooching Micheal to herself,"We're good"They replied in unison while Sophia played with her hair.

They all walked inside as Clara dropped Sophia rushing into the bathroom to take a shower.

She couldn't help but smile as the chilled water touched her bare skin.

Gosh!!wish life was chilled and good as this!

When she was done she dressed up,put on a light make up to her face and walked down stairs to the sitting room.

Her kids were watching their favourite Kids Tv movie while Angela alone was engrossed on watching her Kung Fu channel on phone.

She walked to the dinning opening the food placed on the table,"Is this mine?"She questioned,"Yes mum!"Angel responded, her eyes still fixed on the movie.

She sighed and sat ready to munch her meal.

The day has been hectic already!.

Her fork fought it's way through the noodles as she devoured them.

"Mum??!!"David her fifteen years old son called abruptly,"mm??"came her response.

"Could you tell us a story?"He questioned with pleading eyes as Clara stopped chewing her food for a while, faced her son then at her food.

"What kind of story do you want to hear?"She questioned still mouth-fulled.

"A story about you!"He grinned not realizing his mother's shocked face.

She was stunned for a while, trying hard to recollect her Son's words.

"What did you say??"She questioned in disbelief.

"I said....."

"Will you shut up there??"Angel cut him off rudely.

"It's alright!"Clara sighed interrupting the kids as she dropped her fork.

"How about you come to the dinning and I'll tell you a brief history of my life,if it so pleases you!"She added as the others who were so engrossing in the movie turned to face their mum.

"I want to hear it too!"Michael pouted,"sure, come on everyone"Clara smiled warmly as they all rushed to the dinning together with Angel who felt a little less concerned and reluctant.

"Alright,so I'm gonna tell you my life story and I hope you get a lesson from it!"She says staring at her eager kids whose ears where ready to get close to her mouth if it could except Angel who was so engrossed on her movie.

"Angel..eh...em!!"She cleared her throat attracting her attention as she continued,"This story is mainly for you Angel and I hope you listen attentively.. I've groomed you to this stage and you'll be leaving for university soon,I won't be there neither would your supposed future father!"Clara said making Angel drop her phone immediately.

"But mum...I already.."

"You don't know anything, not even quarter of it!"Clara interrupted her.

Angel sighed defeated as she folded her arms grimming.

"Alright everyone"She smiled staring at her little kids who were all eager to her story.

"My story goes like this......."

The heavy thud of the release stamp was the only goodbye I got from the warden after five years in federal prison. I stepped out into the blinding sun, expecting the same flash of paparazzi bulbs that had seen me dragged away in handcuffs, but there was only a single black limousine idling on the shoulder of the road. Inside sat my mother and sister, clutching champagne and looking at my frayed coat with pure disgust. They didn't offer a welcome home; instead, they tossed a thick legal document onto the table and told me I was dead to the city. "Gavin and I are getting engaged," my sister Mia sneered, flicking a credit card at me like I was a stray dog. "He doesn't need a convict ex-fiancée hanging around." Even after I saved their lives from an armed kidnapping attempt by ramming the attackers off the road, they rewarded me by leaving me stranded in the dirt. When I finally ran into Gavin, the man who had framed me, he pinned me against a wall and threatened to send me back to a cell if I ever dared to show my face at their wedding. They had stolen my biotech research, ruined my name, and let me rot for half a decade while they lived off my brilliance. They thought they had broken me, leaving me with nothing but an expired chapstick and a few old photos in a plastic bag. What they didn't know was that I had spent those five years becoming "Dr. X," a shadow consultant with five hundred million dollars in crypto and a secret that would bring the city to its knees. I wasn't just a victim anymore; I was a weapon, and I was pregnant with the heir they thought they had erased. I walked into the Melton estate and made an offer to the most powerful man in New York. "I'll save your grandfather's life," I told Horatio Melton, staring him down. "But the price is your last name. I'm taking back what's mine, and I'm starting with the man who thinks he's marrying my sister."

I had been a wife for exactly six hours when I woke up to the sound of my husband’s heavy breathing. In the dim moonlight of our bridal suite, I watched Hardin, the man I had adored for years, intertwined with my sister Carissa on the chaise lounge. The betrayal didn't come with an apology. Hardin stood up, unashamed, and sneered at me. "You're awake? Get out, you frumpy mute." Carissa huddled under a throw, her fake tears already welling up as she played the victim. They didn't just want me gone; they wanted me erased to protect their reputations. When I refused to move, my world collapsed. My father didn't offer a shoulder to cry on; he threatened to have me committed to a mental asylum to save his business merger. "You're a disgrace," he bellowed, while the guards stood ready to drag me away. They had spent my life treating me like a stuttering, submissive pawn, and now they were done with me. I felt a blinding pain in my skull, a fracture that should have broken me. But instead of tears, something dormant and lethal flickered to life. The terrified girl who walked down the aisle earlier that day simply ceased to exist. In her place, a clinical system—the Valkyrie Protocol—booted up. My racing heart plummeted to a steady sixty beats per minute. I didn't scream. I stood up, my spine straightening for the first time in twenty years, and looked at Hardin with the detachment of a surgeon looking at a tumor. "Correction," I said, my voice stripped of its stutter. "You're in my light." By dawn, I had drained my father's accounts, vanished into a storm, and found a bleeding Crown Prince in a hidden safehouse. They thought they had broken a mute girl. They didn't realize they had just activated their own destruction.

I sat in the gray, airless room of the New York State Department of Corrections, my knuckles white as the Warden delivered the news. "Parole denied." My father, Howard Sterling, had forged new evidence of financial crimes to keep me behind bars. He walked into the room, smelling of expensive cologne, and tossed a black folder onto the steel table. It was a marriage contract for Lucas Kensington, a billionaire currently lying in a vegetative state in the ICU. "Sign it. You walk out today." I laughed at the idea of being sold to a "corpse" until Howard slid a grainy photo toward me. It showed a toddler with a crescent-moon birthmark—the son Howard told me had died in an incubator five years ago. He smiled and told me the boy's safety depended entirely on my cooperation. I was thrust into the Kensington estate, where the family treated me like a "drowned rat." They dressed me in mothball-scented rags and mocked my status, unaware that I was monitoring their every move. I watched the cousin, Julian, openly waiting for Lucas to die to inherit the empire, while the doctors prepared to sign the death certificate. I didn't understand why my father would lie about my son’s death for years, or what kind of monsters would use a child as a bargaining chip. The injustice of it burned in my chest as I realized I was just a pawn in a game of old money and blood. As the monitors began to flatline and the family started to celebrate their inheritance, I locked the door and reached into the hem of my dress. I pulled out the sharpened silver wires I’d fashioned in the prison workshop. They thought they bought a submissive convict, but they actually invited "The Saint"—the world’s most dangerous underground surgeon—into their home. "Wake up, Lucas. You owe me a life." I wasn't there to be a bride; I was there to wake the dead and burn their empire to the ground.
