Chapter 1 One

Chapter One

Sebastian's Point of View

"Help!!" A voice screamed out in a sharp, high-pitched tone. It was weak yet desperate, and it came from deep down the woods. I could quickly sense that someone was hurt. They were in danger.

My body went on alert, as I turned in the direction of the sound. Instincts guided, I quickly raced down into the woods, following the direction of the voice.

There, in the clearing ahead, a girl had her back pressed against a tree, a group of about five wolves surrounding her. Damn, rogue wolves! I reckoned.

I approached them, shaking with rage. "Don't you dare hurt her!!" I growled at them.

"Help me, please!" The girl said in a whisper, eyes pleading for help. She was terrified, I knew it, her eyes were wide and her body trembling. Then I caught the scent. I sniffed again to be sure it wasn't my brain playing games with me. Only that I could still smell it.

What!? She was human!! What could she be doing here? Probably lost or something. She stared hard and long at me. Her eyes seemed to be saying, "Do something already, please!"

Those eyes!

There was something about them. I couldn't place it. They were--- strange. Familiar in a very strange way. I was sure I had never seen her before, but the pull was so strong. Like I had known her for a long time.

I tried to wrap my head around it, but before I could do that, a muscular hand was wrapped around my head. The rogue wolves had changed to their human forms, looking so ugly. Bastards! I spat.

I twisted out of his grip and brought my elbow down hard on his shoulder.

"Damn!!" He yelled in pain as he staggered backward.

Without waiting for him to recover, I went at him again, kicking him hard in the chest. He went flying high up in the air, then slammed his back hard against a tree.

I charged towards the rest of them, and within seconds, they had shifted to their wolf form then to their human form, and back again to their wolf form. I was taken by surprise, but I quickly switched to my wolf too. I reached one of them, snarling and baring my teeth, ready to pounce on him. But then, it happened. It happened so fast, he did it so swiftly, that I hadn't even suspected it.

The bastard shifted into his human form, and I was being whisked off the ground and flung violently against a tree. My back scratched hard and roughly against the back of the tree. I struggled to switch again. It wasn't easy, but I had to save an innocent human.

"You scared weak alpha!" He jeered maniacally as he approached me with a murderous expression on his face. Wow! He even knew who I was.

I quickly got up and charged at him. We collided against each other violently and the impact had him staggering backwards. I quickly glanced at the girl and saw her trying to wriggle free from the chain that tied her to the tree.

Good! I thought as I lunged at the wolf at full speed. He was taken by surprise as I pulled him by the hair, pulled hard until his scalp came off. I dug my nails into his neck and blood gushed out.

He let out an earsplitting howl. The other rogue wolves charged at me furiously. They came at me at the same time, not giving me any chance to plan my attack. A punch landed right on my stomach and I felt a slight whiteness cover my eyes.

I trained my mind to remain focused. I was losing control, and it didn't smell good. Before I could even recover, I felt long fingers dig deep into my skull.

"I'll pull your head out!" The rogue wolf growled, his eyes flashing with anger and disdain. He shook me violently and lifted me until I dangled at the tip of my toes.

"Please, don't hurt him!" The girl whimpered softly. The rogue turned to glare at her. He was distracted and I quickly grabbed the opportunity.

"Go to hell, you monster!!" I delivered a powerful kick into his jaw, ripping his mouth open. I faced the others and began fighting them, dodging their attacks and delivering powerful blows.

"I'll cut off your head!!" The last wolf standing yelled as he charged at me. He was raving mad and I quickly prepared myself for an attack, only that he disappeared from my view. I turned to look back, but a punch whipped past my face and caught my jaw. I spat out blood and wiped my lips.

I still couldn't see the bastard. Was he into sorcery? I wondered. Then I heard it, and it came from beneath me. A deep and low growling. He had changed to his wolf form, snarling and gnashing his teeth. I quickly switched too, my jaw snapping in the air as I lunged at him.

I nudged my head against his head and he fumbled with his paws, scratching roughly on the ground. "Bastard!" He yelled and came at me again.

He was fast and quickly shifted to his human form. But I was faster, I had anticipated his move. My bones were cracked up, and they hurt from switching too many times.

"You talk too much, fool!" I barked as I raised my left foot in the air and brought it down, hard to his face.

Finally, he fell to the ground. His head slammed against the ground violently and cracked open. Finally!! I thought, breathing hard and feeling a rush of relief ripple through my body. Now the girl was safe, and the wolves were gone.

I turned to her, only to be shocked. One of the rogue wolves held her against the tree, pinning a sharp knife to her neck. I guess I didn't count them well or maybe this one had been hiding. The girl was shuddering in fear, tears trickling down her face.

"Please, help me!!" She begged.

"Woah, woah. Let the girl go, and you can have me." I said, raising my hands in surrender.

"Kill yourself!" He yelled. "Kill yourself and I will let her go!"

He took out another knife from his pocket and threw it at me. I racked my brain for what to do. Then I heard it. A calm voice whispering in my head. At first, I thought it was my wolf, but the voice sounded different, and feminine.
