"Why is our mate doing this?!" I heard my wolf's dejected voice, but I ignored her, focusing on my survival instincts. "I need to get out of here" I mumbled as I pushed Damien away, dashing towards the door. However, he pulled me by my waist, my eyes widening in terror, "No..no no...Let me go!" I yelled. The sight of the Alpha frightened me, and the look in his eyes made me plead for death. I stared at myself, surprised the Alpha and I were in the same room, breathing the same air. "Who are you?!" He asked, his voice low and menacing, making me shiver in fear. Terrified, I weakly moved backwards, afraid of ending my own life. "How did you get here?!" His voice thundered as his hands flew to my neck, stunning me for a moment. Alpha Damien's eyes swept over me, his face squeezing up in disgust. My throat burned as a searing heat spread through my veins, making me groan in pain. Tears stinged my eyes as he sank his nails further into my skin with no single remorse. My clothes were torn, and my extremely pale skin came into sight. Red marks could be seen on my body, a sign of an unjust treatment from my foster mother. I parted my chapped lips, desperate to utter a word, but only a whimper escaped my lips. Start reading now...

Chapter 1 Betrayed

With my slender legs dangling in the air, I shakily reached for my neck, trying to pry his hands open, but he was just too strong. "Stop resisting and tell me who you are!" Damien roared as he pushed me to the bed, his huge body towering over me. All at once, his eyes glowed as he stared back at me with a sense of recognition. "This scent.." Damien's voice trailed off as his eyes were fixed on my body, giving me a confused feeling.

The same searing heat coursed through my body again, this time more fervently. "Ple...please, help me.." I cried out as he desperately peeled the remaining clothes off my body, completely naked under his burning gaze. My vision blurred as I gazed at him, beads of perspiration forming on my skin as my body burned with need. Damien was tensed, his eye balls changing between the shade of black and golden, mesmerizing me momentarily. Damien seemed to be fighting an urge, his body glistening with sweat as he stared at me. Suddenly, his eyes turned golden as his strong fangs elongated. The vanilla scent I had seemed to be messing with him, almost driving him insane.

Damien clenched his fists by his sides, his body trembling from anger, "How dare you seduce me with my weakness!" He growled, his eyes lustfully staring at my body. The look on his face was of mere disgust, but the lust in his eyes couldn't be mistaken.

Reaching for his belt, Damien urgently peeled off his clothes, his eyes never leaving mine. With his hands above my head, he didn't bother to take it slow. Instead, he ignored all my cries and was only bent on pleasuring himself. "Please...please, stop!" I groaned as I tried to push him away, but he didn't bulge. He was immovable, just like a rock. Suddenly, my eyes rolled to the back as darkness welcomed me, drawing me into an endless abyss of emptiness.

...

Squinting my eyes open, I observed my surroundings, surprised I was still by the Alpha's side. My wolf, leera grinned, "Ashley, you're lucky your first time was with our mate."

Taken aback, I gazed at the Alpha, my supposed mate. "Is this really true?" I mumbled, my heart racing with excitement. But..but I'm an omega. Why would the moon goddess give me an Alpha as a mate?

At the same time, Alpha Damien's eyes shot open, gazing at me intently as he leaned closer. He seemed confused, but I mistook it for something else.A beautiful smile curled up my lips at his reaction, "Mate, calm down. Let's take it slow this time." my voice was weak due to the exhaustion from last night.

However, Damien laughed out loud, his eyes glinting coldly, "Why would you call me your mate?!" He snapped. "The fact that you sold yourself cheaply on our first night is the most surprising. Is this the kind of Luna our pack deserves?!" He spat, hatred evident in his eyes.

My heart felt like it was stabbed by a poisonous dagger as his words echoed in my head. "Cheap?"

Interrupting my train of thoughts, his cold voice rang out again, "The moon goddess must have chosen you by mistake. Of all people, why would an omega be my mate?"

"M..m...mate." I stuttered. "Why would you say something like this to me. I'm your mate. Can't you feel the mate bond? You can't treat me this way!"

Damien grinned, his eyes looking at me in amusement. "Young lady, my name is Alpha Damien, not mate. I would never want a mate like you!" he spat." Stunned, I stared at him in surprise. That must have explained the imposing Aura around him.

Damien leaned in, his breath fanning against my neck, "I might think of sparing you if you tell me your motive. And if you don't, I'll snap your head off your body!"

Frightened, I struggled to move away from his grasp, but his hands around me tightened, "I..please..I'm your mate. Please, don't do this to me. I really don't know how I got here...I.." I pleaded, my voice trailing of as I remembered how my foster mother gave me a glass of coffee early this morning.

"Did..did she drug me?" I mumbled, my heart twisting in pain as I remembered the sweet smile she gave me. After suffering in her hands for years, drugging me is the next option to kick me away?

A heart wrenching cry escaped my lips, stunning my mate for a moment. "Why me?!" I yelled as i stared at him, my heart aching tremendously. Why can't I just find happiness? Am I undeserving of happiness?!

Damien chuckled, his eyes widening in amazement, "You think you can deceive me with this?" He moved closer, his fingers tightly wrapped around my arms "Even if you were drugged, how did you end up in my room?! Bitch, you're coming with me!" He roared.

I had just survived a private jet crash, my body a map of violet bruises and my lungs still burning from the smoke. I woke up in a sterile hospital room, gasping for my husband's name, only to realize I was completely alone. While I was bleeding in a ditch, my husband, Adam, was on the news smiling at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. When I tracked him down at the hospital's VIP wing, I didn't find a grieving husband. I found him tenderly cradling his ex-girlfriend, Casie, in his arms, his face lit with a protective warmth he had never shown me as he carried her into the maternity ward. The betrayal went deeper than I could have imagined. Adam admitted the affair started on our third anniversary-the night he claimed he was stuck in London for a merger. Back at the manor, his mother had already filled our planned nursery with pink boutique bags for Casie's "little princess." When I demanded a divorce, Adam didn't flinch. He sneered that I was "gutter trash" from a foster home and that I'd be begging on the streets within a week. To trap me, he froze my bank accounts, cancelled my flight, and even called the police to report me for "theft" of company property. I realized then that I wasn't his partner; I was a charity case he had plucked from obscurity to manage his life. To the Hortons, I was just a servant who happened to sleep in the master bedroom, a "resilient" woman meant to endure his abuse in silence while the whole world laughed at the joke that was my marriage. Adam thought stripping me of his money would make me crawl back to him. He was wrong. I walked into his executive suite during his biggest deal of the year and poured a mug of sludge over his original ten-million-dollar contracts. Then, right in front of his board and his mistress, I stripped off every designer thread he had ever paid for until I was standing in nothing but my own silk camisole. "You can keep the clothes, Adam. They're as hollow as you are." I grabbed my passport, turned my back on his billions, and walked out of that glass tower barefoot, bleeding, and finally free.

My stepmother sold me like a piece of inventory to a man known for breaking people just to plug the financial crater my father left behind. I was delivered to the Morton estate in the middle of a freezing storm, stripped of my phone, and told that if I didn't make myself useful, my senile grandfather would be evicted from his care facility by noon. The master of the house, Adonis Morton IV, was a monster living in a silent mausoleum, driven to the brink of madness by a sensory condition that turned every sound into a physical assault. When I was forced into his suite to serve him, he didn't see a human being; he saw a source of agony. In a fit of animalistic rage, he pinned me to the wall and nearly strangled me to death just for the sound of a shattering teacup. I only survived by using my grandfather’s secret herbal blends and pressure-point therapy to force his overactive nervous system into a drugged sleep. But saving him was my greatest mistake. Instead of letting me go, Adonis moved me into a guest suite connected to his own bedroom by a hidden door. He didn't just want me as a servant; he needed me as a human white-noise machine to drown out the demons in his head. The nightmare deepened when he took the promissory note that defined my freedom and tore it into confetti. By destroying the debt, he destroyed my exit strategy. He replaced my maid’s uniform with a silver silk dress that clung to my skin but did nothing to hide the dark, ugly bruises his fingers had left on my neck. He branded me as his "primary care associate," a title that was nothing more than a gilded cage. I felt a sickening sense of injustice as he forced me to sign a contract that banned me from contacting other men and required me to sleep wherever he slept. He looked at me with a possessive heat, calling me his "medication" rather than a woman. My family had sold my body, but Adonis Morton was intent on owning my very presence, using my grandfather’s medical bills as a leash to keep me within twenty feet of him at all times. Standing in a neglected greenhouse with mud staining my expensive silk, I realized I was no longer a victim waiting for rescue. If I was going to be his medication, I would learn how to be his cure—or his undoing. I began clearing the weeds with a cold, calculated frenzy, determined to turn this prison into my laboratory. He thinks he has trapped a helpless girl, but I am going to pry open the cracks in his stone walls until his entire world comes crashing down.

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.
